@@Andrew-yl7lm they are ground troops, Airborne is an army division. He was talking about CAS or CAP those are actual air support.

@@cloaker2829quite true. Theres a pretty decent chance that the plane either doesnt show up or bombs/strafes your own soldiers. Just a few months till 3rd ed tho!
Think this video might have sold me on Bolt Action. I love the way the units are showing up on the battlefield gradually as opposed to all at once. Also Kudos for the Medal of Honor soundtrack used at the start.

Ahh drats, now I want to get a bolt action army(ies)! Great report!!
Brought my IS-3 out on a 1300 point game and it is just bad when everything is an almost sure bounce off to the front of the thing DV-12. I lost but it sure cost the Germans most of their vehicles minus a Opel truck and Kubelwagen, 2 other trucks a SD Kfz 250/9 and Panther went up in flames. The Germans was able to claim central and both objectives on their side and I was only able to claim both of mine. The IS-3 cost 600 points so almost half of my points was tied into the thing but just fun watching an opponent sweat knowing he has not many things to go toe to toe with the thing.
We need more Jeeps!

In fairness late war , Germany 🇩🇪 had assault weapons in mass production. But we’re running very low on man power. So your fav troops make 100% sense

When you rolled that 1 on the green test for your inexperienced guys you were supposed to roll an additional D6 pins. Got lucky on that one.

You made a few critical rules errors that might’ve changed the outcome of the game.
1. You rolled a 1 on your Green test for your Volksgrenadiers. That means that not only do they not up-rate to regulars, but they also go DOWN and take D6 pins.
2. You have to win by more than one point. This game was technically a draw.
Good spot on the Volks! I checked my book and never noticed that before :)
As for the mission, we were playing objectives and that mission specifically states that the player holding the most objectives at the end of the game wins

Hmm. 40k with bolt action rules…
I know this was just a friendly game but i just have to ask at 50:34 he rolls his green test/mixed quality and gets a 1, doesn't this mean he should take a d6 pins and go down? I'm not used to playing Germans....yet so as a bonus question is there any penalty for rolling a 1 on the second test other than them just staying regular assuming they passed their first test? I assume not but just wondering if anyone knows for sure?
You are correct, the unit should have gone down and taken additional D6 pins. Page 90 in the rules.

Soooo sloooooow..... Nothing happens in this game....... Not encouraged to play this at all!
41 mins in and nothing happened still. So I see we’re playing to be super-try hard and not actual fun. Maybe it’s a fault of how the map was designed, but these 6 on 6 rolls are so tedious. Take some actual risk instead of trying to chip away all of 1 or 2 models of the opposing army. The dice clearly aren’t rolling that way 🤷🏻♂️
