So while I do not care about Boltaction, i really did like this battlereport. If I could change anything, I would use the sepia more sparingly.
Just take it off while showing us the army and the army of you enemy, so we can admire the minis. After that put it back on, because it fits the aesthetic.

Appreciate the feedback! Most likely I'll use them for the intro and epilogue, I'm only experimenting on what works for the channel or not as an editor and me and Mordian are very opened to the feedback provided to help improve the quality of the channel! Thanks again!! :)

The fact that you have to point out that the Soviet government was monstrous when talking about a World War II tabletop game is… Well, I can’t say I’m surprised, but I am disappointed. You’d think people would know what they’re getting into by what’s written on the door.

On the topic of inexpirienced infantry, as a canadian how would you use them. Just getting that one roll to upgrade them seems kinda risky so I ususally go for veterans.

Great reports. Always happy to see more BA content. Nice to see the Soviet horde doing well in a more restrictive format.
Not sure you needed the caveat about how bad the NKVD was though. Nobody (except maybe that one Guy) thinks you support their ideology because you play them in toy soldier format.

I watched a Documentary today, about Operation Barbarossa.
The Germans launched 3 Million Soldiers towards Russia, and they needed to Win Fast.
But the Vast Russian Lands streched them out. They Estimated the Russian Army about around 3 Million Men too.
When they were heading towards Moscow and Stalingrad Germany had Captured about 3 Million Russian Soldiers.
They where shocked.... that they had miscalculated that number.
German Elite and Superior Firepower Carried them so far.... but at a certain point, they didn't get supplies.
The where eating their own horses, or looting and raiding the the Land.
    Tragic Stuff.

@@BlitzkriegBryce It was actually nice to see, since we're overwhelmed with disclaimers when it comes to the Germans. There are actually store owners which won't sell or allow anyone to bring German troops in their store, but Japanese and Soviets are no problem, so for some people it is refreshing to see some balance. You're right, of course, that the disclaimers shouldn't be needed, but what's good for the goose ....

I understand your point, by 1944 the soviets were an incredibly battle hardened army with just as much prowess and ability as any other power. However, in 1942? Not so much.

    • @horatiusromanus
      @horatiusromanus 10 місяців тому +3

@@jamesmaybrick2001Most of our understanding of the Soviet military during WWII comes from German officers who were trying to downplay their failures, angle for positions in NATO and the new German army, and play into the western belief in a eastern horde. The best part of the “Soviet horde” is that the Germans never complained about being outnumbered when they were winning in the early war. Yet the late war the fact they were outnumbered was a problem.
We learned more from the release of the Russian archives (at least until the Donbas War) that the Russians were lower on manpower than we initially believed. The local superiority was pretty much that, local. The Soviet army was better at the operational and strategic art to maximize their forces.
Every army attempts to attack with at least a 3:1 ratio and the Soviet army was no different. So outnumbering the Germans makes good tactical sense. Wave after wave of men was largely propaganda like the Polish charging tanks with lances.
