    Great design and great job by the installers. Can't believe it took that much sand.

    Very nice! In the process of designing a putting green. Your design is very versatile and the two fringe is a nice touch. Well done Sir.

      Thank you! It's been such a great addition to the back and side yard! A lot more used than it would have been without it, that's for sure!

      Do you remember what they used for infill?

    Looks great!! I've always dreamed about having a yard big enough to put a par 3 hole, then setting up 9 different little tee boxes to have my own little 9 hole course haha
    What are the 4x4 wood posts for? Are you planning on putting a backsplash in the future?

    • @GolfAscending
      @GolfAscending  3 роки тому +2

      The wood posts are for a trellis that is not finished at the moment. Going to be something that will provide a little shade, privacy, and a place to be able to hang lights so that I can putt at night! I threw a couple of images of what the idea/concept is going to be in the video if you circle back.

    What’s the riff estimate on a project like this ? This is amazing

    • @GolfAscending
      @GolfAscending  Рік тому

      Rough cost estimate? If so, it’s about $7-10K.

      I'm putting mine in now in Melbourne Australia for about $1,200.
      How? Rip the grass out yourself, buy the materials and do your own install. Just follow simple steps, step by step.
      It's so much cheaper and rewarding doing it yourself.
      He could of saved thousands

    Can you tell me what ounce turf for the 1st/2nd cut? I’m designing one now with two cuts. Thanks

    • @GolfAscending
      @GolfAscending  2 роки тому

      Hey James, honestly not sure what ounce each cut was. I just told the guys making it what I wanted and they made it happen. the 1st cut fringe is what they generally use for all their greens. the thicker stuff I think the generally use for lawns, etc. Hope this helps!

      That is a great question, I actually don't know as I didn't do the install myself. I'm sure if you call "Backyard Greens" they might be able to answer that.

    The heat pump looks horrible and concerning. Can’t image how it can be in our garden if we are forced to install one

      I think what you are referring to is my air conditioner unit. Yes it is a little bit of an eye sore...but you make due with what you are given...I'd much rather have an air conditioned house than worry about what something might look like aesthetically in my backyard.

    Why is it that home putting greens are shaped like this. A real putting green is huge, even if the shape is somewhat like this. A home green is so unrealistic with this shape unless it is extremely large. Otherwise you hardly have room to putt. Look at all the putters on the course make eighty foot putts. What fun is it tho always make 10' or less putts all the time. Eventually its will be too small. How is that worth the money?

    • @GolfAscending
      @GolfAscending  2 місяці тому

      Very worth the money, most putts are around 10 ft. I've seen my putting improve drastically and I'm averaging a little over 1.5 putts/hole currently.
