Spent 30 minutes running the old 911. It used to be SO loose and slidy and first impression is tires/grip are significantly improved. Still slidy but much, much better.
Thanks Timo. Enjoying the update as well. Despite some negativity towards this title/madness engine etc, ams2 is still the sim I have the most fun in. How easily you can fire it up and get on track with such a variety of content is great I agree.😊
Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is 10 mins from my house. I’ve driven on it in McLaren 570s. I sometimes go karting there as well. It’s so amazing to have this track in arguably one of the best sim racing games. Sebring has been long awaited as well.
@@AnotherWatchChannel Mosport has grown quickly on me, great track! Love the blind entries and elevation changes, so demanding - and rewarding if you get it right.
Its def slide still with the vintage cars but yeah it's feeling great! Everything is great right now. Feels connected. Probably one of the best updates to a sim we have seen in a while. True changes that matter and make a difference that is. I tested it with my newer invicta wheelbase and the details were so insane. Really the response of the title was amazing. I had to actually lower the responsiveness of my base for the first time. Even if only a little bit 😉
Great content sir, your precision & insight are a welcome change from the absurd ramblings of the likes of Gamer Muscle & that Broadbent fellow...keep it coming please :)
I've been trying out different combos for 3 days and I'm really enjoying it. The physics and tire model update are really good. The new shader model is also really good, you can set the graphics to be incredibly realistic. Driving a GT1 in Road America, with the trees without leaves in cloudy weather, is completely cinematic. And the sounds are really brutal, the replay from the trackside camera gives you incredible effects.
Thanks Timo - looking forward to your experience over time with the revised AI - I love they added the AI error rate along with rain skill slider - hoping that means we can take advantage further of the excellent real weather system without causing too many pace discrepancies with the AI. Will be interesting when they add the AI braking skill slider as well (in beta it seems) might help make it harder to pick up easy spots into a hairpin (RRRE issue too).
I just bought it on the steam sale, used to love iRacing but have let my sub go for a year, got tired of it, and tired of paying the sub... AMS2 1.6 is amazing in VR, LOVE it! Tried it years ago and hated it, glad the team stepped it up and hope this gets lots of people buying it. However tell them to change their free demo on steam, it's horrible and they will lose so many possible customers.
i can only recommend to use the custom FFB setting. BUT: you need to delete your old "ffb_custom_settings" file (with AMS2 not running). AMS2 will create a new fresh file on start of the game. The old custom files that were distributed in the past in several forums are not fitting 1.6 anymore. This delivers the best SIM feeling; default/default+ are too much of a driving aid imho !
Has anyone tried to set up a Custom Championship for European Endurance? When I try the grid seems to be limited to 29 opponents even though all the tracks I've chosen show 47 grid slots. Am I doing something wrong?
@@davidbacon9351 does your PC have 12g + of ram? That is a requirement for it. I think there may be a setting in the options or settings menu to enable it.
How to make FFB less gritty? Feels like there is sand in my wheel. I kinda like Default setting now and tried Custom but that is taking away too much feedback.
@@mw9020 turn up the interpolation filter. (INT) on Fanatec wheels. Other wheels should have this option. This is literally the "grainy" setting. And that's how Fanatec describes it in their official guide. All the interpolation does is smooth the FFB signal without taking away strength or lots of details. Running it at zero is going to be very gritty, or grainy or rough or Sandy feeling. Turning it up to 12-17 or 20 will be extremely smooth. It honestly makes a huge difference. Don't mess with the (FEI) Force Effect Intensity setting until you change your INT Interpolation setting. All (FEI) does is basically turn the force feedback of your base down. It doesn't really help with grainyness and will drastically reduce ffb strength and feeling. Interpolation filter is exactly what you are looking for. It literally just takes the FFB signal and smooths it, so it doesn't take away strength or details.
@@SidgeRacing if you have a Fanatec wheel turn down the interpolation filter. This smooths the ffb signal.
