*READ THIS… At one point in this video I state that the Mi Mix 2 is “expensive”. I’d like to clarify… I think more of that had to do with the fact that I had to import the device. When you consider it’s selling price in local markets it’s actually quite competitive. Unfortunately the only way to get the Mi Mix 2 in North America is by importing it. That said, the LTE bands on the Mix 2 will work on North American carriers. If you do choose to import to North America expect to pay somewhere between $550-$650 USD - Not a bad deal honestly but that ticket price launches it into a different realm of competition. Still a better value than any of the $1000 smartphones in my opinion.

IMO, a good translation is not necessarily to keep it as original as possible, instead it is to deliver the same/similar meaning in a 'localized' way of another language. There is the international version of this phone and that translation is very well done. It is not 1:1 word by word translation, but it delivers the essential meaning in a best way. Also, there is some kind of 'slang' or 'network language' here in the original Chinese text, such as the 'fever' and the 'black technology', these are not literally what they mean, and they are more like a 'parody' or joking/funny words. Sure if directly translated to 'fever' and 'black technology', it seems right, but the essential meaning is off.

Honestly iOS was just a decent OS because back then Android and all other competitors were really bad. I remember a time when only iOS had multiple finger recognition so you could do things like two finger pinch. After Android caught up iOS was already on the back burner and now it is even worse since Apple flat out admited they were nerfing old phones using iOS updates.
But Android these days isn't doing to great either. No real new features and a bulk of the most "innovative" ones coming from (look at the phone in this video) MIUI. App Permissions on 6.0 MIUI had it first about a year before it. Ability to change font size. Half a year before. Themes which Android and most other AOSP still don't have a real competitor to it. I mean iOS has copied much more (look up MIUI fans laugh at iOS 10) but Android hasn't been doing much better.

alexander rahirant i would rather have battery life. Strictly because phones are one of the most important things you have if something bad happens. My dads old iPhone used to die at 50%, because he had such an old phone, i’d rather have less performance, because it makes more sense. Just replace the battery
the iPhones battery is simply to replace (well anything but the x i presume because of it being an L shape) but this is only applied when batteries get old. It will be a while before the x has to have a replacement battery. All you have to do is remove the two bottom screws and lift up the screen (if you want you can take it off completely, you can) and remove the adhesive tabs, pull out the battery, reapply new adhesive tabs and put the new battery in screw the screen back in and your done. A simple google search would show you this.

Mario Knife Making It’s cheaper, it’s not better. It might be a way better buy, since the compromises Xiaomi made aren’t dealbreakers and the Mix 2 is still a flag ship phone for almost half the price.
But let’s be honest: it has no waterproofing, the resolution is lower, as is the brightness, the cameras aren’t nearly as good as those on the best flag ships, it has no wireless charging and it’s larger than both the S8 and iPhone X. You’ll also have a hard time claiming warranty.
Then again, that’s about it. The Mix 2 is just as fast (if not faster) as the S8, MIUI 9 is great, the build quality is on par and the 1080p IPS screen might not be on par with the best from Apple and Samsung, but it still looks great.
For about $450,- you can buy a phone that offers 90-95% of the experience that a $900,- smartphone does. My guess is, that’s more than enough for most people.
Agreed, the only Xiaomi product I own is a Mi Band 2 and I love what they're doing in the wearable field as well as the electric scooters and bicycles, its a great company and I hope to see them grow a lot in the future. Their phones cannot quite compete with the top dogs just yet, but its only a matter of time.

No, the iPhone is faster, has a better screen, way better camera, wireless charging, waterproofing and a significantly faster SoC. Sure, my iPhone X is better than the Mix 2. But not 2,5 times better.
Then there’s the OnePlus 5,T which is lauded for the quality you get for the price. Compared to this “flagship”, the Mix 2 suddenly seems like a winner: $50-100 cheaper, same SoC, same quality screen, better materials and better battery life. As for the subjective part: I personally like MIUI better, and think the Mix 2 looks infinitely better than the OP5T.
So, can it beat the iPhone X, Note 8 and Pixel 2 XL? No. But it comes damn close, and in terms of performance and form factor, it can definitely hang with the big boys.

We, the MI users eagerly waiting for the next MIUI update rather than the Android update..because there is much much more fun and improvements in their upgrate to what we called 'Vanilla Android'.
And there is the weekly update (of the software) of beta version for the beta lovers...although there is always a stable version for most of the people which is also regularly updated.
So..for the conclusion.. MIUI is much more fun than the boring stock android as a whole..
7thSon Mizo absolutely right, I'm even in the internal beta for Miui which I get on Tuesdays and Fridays and I couldn't agree more with you, Miui is one thousand times better than stock Android and a million times better than iOS.
I had used xiaomi 2, 3 and 4i.
I think I was satisfied with them at first but after one year of use, they got soooo slow.

i'm not on welfare, i have a decent job. Taxes are really high where i live, a 1000$ phone in the US cost +1500$ where i live. 500$ phone will cost around 750$.

Got me a Redmi 5+ for around the same price... Absolutely crazy!! It works amazingly, I never have any slow apps, beautiful big screen, nice design, AMAZING battery (2 days easy), and I can play all the games I want. I also have a huge amount of storage, and I only paid about 150 dollars for it as opposed to 4 or 5x more for Iphones and Samsungs that do the same thing....

I've have both the Mi Mix and the Mi Mix 2 and I love them both. Plus MIUI has made me a convert for sure. Having the Dual App feature, built in App Locking, and Second Space is AWESOME! All features I've always wished were baked directly into the OS.
