A real leather belt should hold!

Actually Tom Cruise and Sylvester Stallone slide down on a smooth electric cable and not a rough metal zip-line! And the Stallone cable was also wet!

I think if the belt you had used was of higher quality it would have survived. Whenever I've used those $10-$30 "leather" belts I had to buy a next one a year later. 4 years ago I've decided to buy myself a sturdy $100+ (I think it was somewhere around $160) made out of real leather and it still looks good and works well. The belt is heavy and I actually think that you could slide down with it if you needed to (probably once, but still)

Really. Tom Cruise is who comes to mind. Not Stallon and Kurt.

3/4 it's a cable with water in film , not a steel cable

There are a lot of rules in life, you just dont know what they are. Man, that is the essence of life in a sentence.

A great example of how movies give us unrealistic expectations as kids 😅. What kid didn’t want to jump and slide down a zip line??

well in fairness, Tango and Cash used belts, not straps, that were soaking wet with the rain, reducing any friction as well.

Thanks for an awesome content. In MI4, Tango and Cash, Rush hour 2, they slide on electric cables (wires), that are covered with some kind of an isolation material, that would probably reduce the friction
