I watched up to the 28:52 part where he was talking about the travis Scott concert and the problems. Up to that point it was just about all the challenges the metaverse or games in general have. Maybe it gets better after that bit for me I had to cut it off at the time marker above.
4:05 I studied game design. Game history was a course. I can assure you all. Games did not just become main stream, humans have been playing “games” forever. About 60 seconds before saying this, the man emphasized wanting to 10X monetization. That’s your money. Facebook 🤦🏻♂️ it’s Facebook everyone! They’re not doing this to bring you together. It’s money. That’s it. There’s better companies for this mission.
Great interview and insights! Nice to hear No Man's Sky get a mention relating to games using procedural generation to generate their worlds. I have some gameplay on my channel playing NMS in VR and can totally see just how immersive these experiences can become in the future!
The BTC miners pay for huge electricity bill. Some of them borrow fiat to keep going, others get bankrupt. BTC holders doesn't fill that pain, and stress, they believe that holding BTC is for free. There is no free lunch for your money in this space.....you just ending up with nothing....holding the bag of the early investors....
Hi Raoul, I did an mixed reality music festival called SplendourXR (based on our IRL event) which is very much what you were talking about post Travis Scott. We used crowd filled to help create a sense of audience scale and built on Sansar VR which is an arm of second life. We worked on a lot of issues you discussed, it cost over $12m to produce and a global event. Love to chat about it, I think it’s the future.
Nah games now you can have 30-60 models in the one area. There are games where you have a resolution change. eg things that are in a ~ 30m radius they get 4K res and stuff in the distance are only rendered in low res to give you an indication and just enough detail for background.....

Raoul should do a video with the guys from Proof of Humanity, this might solve the "is that a real person?" problem

Ok boomer, the metaverse existed BEFORE Faceberg rebranded. It’s owned by no one and developed by thousands of people.

Zuck, rebranding fb hijacked the universal term, Meta, and universally applied it to his personal recognition. So wrong.
Brilliant as always Raoul
