I have never put any flea or tick control on my last 3 cats. Surprise! They never acquired fleas or ticks anyway. They did have supervised outdoor play time in my fenced-in, wooded back yard, but something in their diet or environment, possibly catnip, kept them protected. One cat lived 20 years. The other lived 19 plus, and the third one is currently making my foot go to sleep.
sorry for my inquisitiveness, may I ask what you feed them? I have also never used any toxic product on them, also supervise mine in the yard at playtimes.
I feed my cats homemade recipes and recipes from Dr. Jones' book titled "Veterinary Secrets." Occasionally, I supplement their diet with kibble and soft cat food. I try to get the most natural ingredients as possible. I use alternative medicine whenever possible.
Also, I never treat my lawn with chemicals.
No problem.🐾🐾
I provide my cats with homemade cat food recipes, occasionally using recipes from Dr. Jones' book, "Veterinary Secrets." I supplement their diet with the most natural soft cat food available and use freeze-dried chicken as treats. Whenever possible, I opt for natural remedies and minimize vaccinations. Additionally, I ensure that the lawn where they play is free from chemicals, and they only drink filtered water. Regular check-ups are conducted once a year to ensure their well-being.

We applied the flea drops on our cat in May and she went into a seizure and died in my arms on the way to Emergency animal hospital! It was horrible! Breaks my heart to know we thought we were doing good for her.
Thank you for this video. People need to know how dangerous this poison is to cats!
Gosh. I'm so sorry to hear that.I nearly went to vet yesterday in frustration for topical flea product...but stopped myself.
I'm in tears, and totally run down with the troubles of my cat.
Trying homeopathic and natural, but it's hard work with an x stray that has psychological problems and thinks you are trying to cause him harm...trying to give him nutritional yeast by spoon - only way, trying to put Diotanaceous Earrh on him, trying to comb him, trying to get all the unknown scabs off his throat.

Much love to you.
@@HummingbirdHoller what was the brand you used?
Thank you for this topic!
We did not use ANY flea/tick preventatives this year and we had ZERO issues! We have dogs, not cats...but we have taken Dr Jones' warnings in past videos seriously.
Use a flea comb and wipe it into a dish of water and a bit of vinegar any vinegar will kill the fleas in the water and any eggs that come out too
And keep combing it does not take that long
Thank you!
@@Alex-ir4bm your welcome much love xoxox
Bath your cat in Dawn dish soap. Make sure that you don't get the soapy water in their eyes. Wet your flea comb in the soapy water and comb near their ears and eyes and keep dipping the comb in the soapy water to kill the fleas and eggs. Rinse the cat well and re-comb the cat after drying. Apply food grade diatomaceous earth to the cat after it is dry, and treat your carpets with it by sprinkling it evenly on all carpets and leave it there for a week, then vacuum. NO MORE FLEAS!
If you add a bit of vegetable oil to the water they can't jump out and suffocate. Mineral oil suffocates ear mites. And is not harmful when cats clean themselves. Warm it to body temp before putting in ears and massage ears to get interior well coated. After a few hours you can clean ears with cotton swab. Treat like your own ears
Don't go too deep. If you can massage both ears at once helps to keep from shaking head and spreading oil everywhere. The soon learn to appreciate it
If fleas are really bad you can use mineral oil over all of body avoiding eyes and suffocate fleas. Then rinse with warm water to wash out dead fleas. Combing with flea comb helps as well and makes a stronger bond.
Does this repel ticks as well
I don't have cats, but my friends i do, I forwarded this video to many of my friends, cause their cats are very sick. Diabetes, kidney problems., etc., I hope they watch this video. I been warning people for decades about the toxic chemicals in their pets food, harmful flea treatments, cetc, but no one will listen to me, so hopefully they love their pets enough to hear this video.
I am dealing with fleas right now, we have 6 cats. I am trying many of these methods, and will add the couple I am not. It is hard with so many cats. Wish us luck, I really want to avoid the toxins!
Good luck. If it's bad enough where you have to use toxins then you could give them a good bath or just use wet comb with pet safe soap to wash toxins off cat after couple hours. So they won't have time to lick it off there coat. Keep eye in them while treatment is on them so they dont clean themselves and get in there mouth.
I wouldn't use pills or or oral treatments.
With some of bad infestation I seen on kittens I just mixed cup of warm water with flea soap and some diluted flea spray or liquid treatment and use it ot comb there fur with. Then use a clean cup of water to comb there fur out and get chemicals off.
Even cats that hate baths will usually let you comb them with wet comb.
Get some lint rollers. They are absolute life savers for their bedding and you can lint roll them to🙏🙏💓
Bravecto killed my beloved nine year old Maine Coon Thorin Thunderpaws on May 11th of this year. I will NEVER forgive them or the vet who convinced me to give it to him, or the company who makes it. The grief isn't easing; life hasn't been the same since he passed.
and that's why i stay faaaaaaaarrr away from these places, and am learning how to care for it all naturally. No vaccines, no chemicals, no kibbles. xo
I understand the grief.. and regret.
I followed bad advice once.. I put my cat down, when she was sick and I couldn't afford the bills that would come if we were to explore the causes. So.. to 'ease suffering' I euthanized her. I was a young adult, didn't know any better. With time, experience and many cats later I know I did tha wrong thing. My kitty expected me to fix her, or take her home, at least.. and if they're to pass away, they accept that.. and dying is suffering, there's no escape from that. The idea then.. is to ease their transition into their next place.. to take care of their body, at the end. I have done that too.. and it feel so much better.. the bond really comes through at the end.. it doesn't happen without that ending. It's about trust.. to give palliative care to a dying pet.
Euthanizing them is about easing our OWN suffering.. and grief.. via power and control.
@@GingerPeacenik so sorry for your loss 💔. I read into Bravecto years ago and didn't give it to my cats but I do occasionally give them the topical one when I can't get it under control. Like yesterday, I cried bc I feel horrible when I do it and it scares me. It doesn't even seem to help though! This was the last time I did that. I'll try more of dr. Jones advice. I hope you'll heal soon from your loss. Sending love

Bravecto is bad, dies not kill fleas
My old boy has never had these toxic chemicals, he's never had fleas either, funny that. He had a urinary infection a few months ago, vet tried to twist this into all sorts of horrors, tests, £145 monthly outlay for ongoing meds etc, which I declined. I gave him vet meds for 5 days, he recovered and I spend a few pennies per month on slippery elm to line his urinary system, that's it. He is now 22, raw fed and thriving. I almost forgot....vet gave him 2 weeks to live if I didn't get the tests and costly meds.......
We let our cats out into the yard. One of the best flea control methods I have found is treating the yard with flea larvae-eating nematods. It costs about $50 to get enough to treat a 1/2 acre area, but it eliminates the flea larvae from maturing into adult fleas. We didn't have to use any harsh chemicals to get rid of them, and it has lasted seven years thus far, but I may re-treat the yard again this year if I see signs of them. BTW, I have noticed a marked decrease in insect problems on my plants as well.
Make sure it's food grade diatomaceous earth
@@serenityfirefly70 And make sure no one inhales it. It can really irritate the lungs.

My kitty didn't even have fleas, but for some crazy reason I allowed the vet to give Bravecto. He thought he'd seen a flea on Leo. He is an indoor cat. After he received that topical treatment, he has had chronic diahhrea. He still has problems a year later. I was going through a stressful situation, and somehow wasn't thinking when I allowed him to get the medication.
You could try feeding yogurt for the diarrhea problem. Just make sure it has the live bacteria. Most cats love yogurt. And it actually worked for a horse as well.
Please try fresh cooked pumpkin and potatoes and boiled chicken.
Also give charcoal supplement open the capsule mix it with a bit of water and feed it with syringe. Please do that until all the toxin have been absorbed by the charcoal. this is what they used to do back in the days when people were poisoned
Woow this is crazy I just had to take my cat to the vet last week for this exact reason.
Thank you for good cat info. My 2, 15 yr old cats, are my best friends and I'm hoping I can keep them healthy for a few more years. 🤍

Brewer's yeast is a probiotic too. It helps your gut, immune system and is loaded with B vitamins. It has chromium in it which helps insulin levels. If you are on thyroid issues, check before eating it.

What did you use?
I gave her bath, then after drying put a flea comb though. In her food I put in garlic and brewers yeast. All the best. If she scratched herself I used coconut oil on her skin. I also make my own flea sprays out of Apple cider vinegar and essential oils, see Dr Andrew Jones videos for more information. Also check out Dr Karen Becker and dogs naturally magazine.

I put borax on my carpet. Put the Kabosh on the fleas. All my fur babies slept sooo much better. And yep my one cat was having neurological symptoms after I put flea meds on. So glad I found something that helped.
Just fyi…borax is also toxic to cats! I believe that’s why many of my cats in the 90’s died younger. There was a company called Fleabusters that would put it in your carpet claiming “ all natural and safe”. Diatomaceous earth is so much safer and is effective! It’s messy…but so is borax. Just wanted to share what I learned!
You are my hero,so happy I found your website, my cats have fleas at certain times because they love rolling in the dust and grass, I was stressing so much because I will never ever put that toxic chemical stuff of my cats but everytime you look online their always promoting those ones and putting down all natural stuff , but thanks to you I now know what I can naturally use and how to use it so it's safe so thankyou so very much oxo

Hi,
What natural remedies would yoi recommend for eliminating mites?
Palmer
Omg yes. Just asked the same question
I've seen bad problems happen with topical flea and tick treatment for cats from the grocery store or pet stores
I've had a friend use it b4 and the cats had a hard time
I get stuff from the vet revolution and I only use it a few times of year when the fleas or ticks are bad not every month as recommend
Flea combs work great especially for cats or puppies or smaller dogs
Thank you! We have a dog who is prone to seizures. This year we stopped giving him flea and tick tablets. Instead, we use natural oil sprays and grooming with a comb. He hasn’t had any infestations, despite daily walks in coastal woodland and heathland. Most importantly, his seizures have reduced in both frequency and intensity. I think these things are pure neurological poison. Going to introduce brewer’s yeast in his diet. I take it myself, as its odour is supposed to deter midges and mosquitos, which cause severe reactions when they bite me. So I figure it should work for our beloved pooch too
I rescued a dog (beagle/basset hound mix) a few yrs ago. He got a seizure. Then I gave him a topical flea treatment and he got another seizure. I researched and bought some CBD and started giving him a dropper a day. He never had another seizure.
Need something fore mites as well. Had birds nest on my patio.

I almost lost my beautiful 17 pounds 2,5 y.o. russian blue cat . I gave him flea medicine recommended by vet. He has terrible seizures, jumping all over the house, open mouth very wide, breathing very heavily , shaking-It was real horror movie . Thank God I gave him only half of recommended tablet-otherwise he will not make it definitely. It was a one of the scariest moment in my life, besides the vet bill for an emergency help.😢 Never again! Not for my cats not for my dogs.
That's horrific. I has similar with my Terriers, could have died.
Ive got all these treatments here and use them..all i use too we have a big epidemic of mosquitoes I feel like they are programmed cuz they get me at 8:00 p.m. and at 6 a.m. and I always use my essential oils brewers yeast apple cider vinegar and but you have to keep using it like twice a day
Will this flea spray also repel ticks? Thank You!!!!
Considering using Stronghold on my cat. We have 4, but he seems to be the only one with ear mites. Been fighting them all his life with natural remedies but at this point might try Stronghold.
Love this! Can this also be used on dogs?
Unfortunately I’m having flea problems right now, dog brings in fleas and gives to my cats and everything else. I use small cat topical I have to, Adam’s all over furniture and stuff .
I was in desperate need of this, thank you! I've tried many different things (incl. natural) and even used the toxic one again yesterday.. 😢. Just can't get rid of the fleas, 1st time in many years. Now let's see if my cats accept the spraying..😅
We just had a bad flea outbreak at our house for the first time in 10 years. The cat is indoor/outdoor. I had to resort to putting the topical on the dog and the cat. We were desperate, as the fleas were in our house and biting us. The topical got it under control, but it did take a week or so to stop noticing the fleas in the house. I don't like using it, but sometimes pesticides are all that will work once an infestation is already in full swing.
I use tea tree essential oil in my cleaning water when I clean the floors , tea tree kills fleas and eggs and larves when they get in contact with WET FLOOR THAT HAS ESSENTIAL OIL IN IT. Don't let your cats walk on the wet floor until it is dry.
WARNING : DONT PUT ANY TEA TREE ESSENTIAL OIL ON ANY CAT , IT IS VERY TOXIC. (Deadly)
Can you please make a video for mites??

I will never again use flea medication on my cats. My cat became very sick ,close to death. After emergency medical treatment and very high cost vet bills for emergency treatment he managed to recover.
How long do these treatments take effect? We've been using the OTC methods on both our dog and cat with no resolution/remedy. They are suffering with the fleas. Fortunately we haven't seen any of the negative side effects mentioned here other than large amounts of fur loss we also aren't seeing any improvement and the fleas seem to be getting worse. Does it take a long time to see improvement? Can I use these same treatments on our dog? He is a 13-15 lb Jack Russell/Yorkie with course textured hair like a JR but its long like a Yorkie. Thank you so much for your help.
Food grade Diatomaceous earth is fantastic.
Hi! Do you just dust you cat’s fur with it and leave it like that? Or do we need to bathe them afterwards?
@omgkittyXD I get a plastic container with a lid. Poke holes in the top so I can control the puff a little (to keep it from her eyes) more and rub it in. It can dry the skin so I do not do it often but I don't need to do it often. If she licks it, it's very beneficial for her. No bath needed.
@tilliegeorgia453 thank you for the tips! Will try this out ❤️
NB you must not breathe it in as it can damage your lungs, wear a mask. Be super careful when applying on your pet as I assume they shouldn't breathe it in either.
I tried putting some on their kibble but they won't eat it. Struggling to find pure brewers yeast as my pharmacy only stocks what they call nutritional yeast & it's oumami or nutty cheese flavoured (for humans). Will have to find someone who brews their own beer to get some as our supermarkets don't keep it either.
Dying to try the flea spray but my cats don't like the hissing sound. YinYang is out the door the moment he sees me prepping for Sox's flea allergy. Poor girl has had a cone in for weeks.
Problem.is my neighbour feeds the wild monkeys & they sit in the overhanging tree. Monkey helpline says monkeys don't have fleas & then say any they pick off while grooming they kill by biting the head off. Im sure some fleas fall to tbe ground from thise not grooming, just scratching & how do they bite the head off? Fleas are really small. The vet daid this is the most likely source of Sox's ongoing issues. Fleas are everywhere & Im looking into getting beneficial nematodes for my small enclosed area but most of it is concrete paving & steps, plus they're really expensive to import. I'm a pensioner.
I eant to know how much apple cider vinegar to.put in their water/dilution & whetber one can use normal vinegar as ACV is expensuve. All these things are ridiculously expensive in South Africa if you aren't working & my government pension barely covers our food. Brewers yeast works well! I have 2 inside cats that only received 1st set of shots! Both my cats are healthy! I do not believe in all these shots they push!

Yes, I use it on my own dog. Also I encourage you to get a copy of my free book at www.veterinarysecrets.com
My brothers cat had a seizure after using monthly application.
Will diatomaceous earth work on scabies on cats?
In another video on your Facebook page, you have a flea/tick spray that includes the four ingredients in this one, but that one also includes cedarwood oil. So is that one ok as well? Plus, what could I use instead of neem oil? Thanks.
I see people recommending cedarcide or wondercide so I assume cedarwood oil will be fine. I can't get many of the products suggested on facebook groups in South Africa & too expensive to import.

We can’t get him off of steroids otherwise he develops severe rashes all over his face, ears, and chest, and he scratches the crap out of all of his fur off and bleeds and gets infected. He is on a prescription food and nothing seems to help except the steroids. I’m beside myself. He even has mild pillowfoot now. I tried licorce root drops and didn’t help. Any other ideas to help him?
I am sure dogs skin also gets dry. He said in this video to only dust them once a week with the diatomaceous earth, to keep the skin from getting too dry. Also, if you mix up that flea remedy in the last part of this video, and use it a couple days after the diatomaceous earth, I am sure combing it through their car will moisturize their skin, too
What about the seresto collar? I haven't used flea meds on my cars in years. I take them outside too. Never had fleas, until this past summer. Both cats had them. I wanted to get rid of them quickly before my house became infested. I have one cat(18yo) eho has ckd. I asked my vet for a recommendation on a med that wouldn't exacerbate his ckd. He recommended the seresto collar. There was no irritation on either cat snd no side effects that i could see. E en though the collar is effective for 8 months, i plan on removing them as soon as we have a freeze. Im in north Carolina, so we have warm weather many times all the eay to the end of november. But this year we've already had temps at night in the low 40s. So hoping i can remove the collars soon
I did research on seresto a few years ago because my vet recommended it as I have 7 cats. After I found out the huge amount of toxic chemicals in it , even worse than spot on products I decided to never buy it. Do always your own research when your vet recommend things, most vets are just selling all those stuff that those compagnies want you to buy, and the vets don't really take a deep dive in the side effects it can cause. Of course now and then you have a good vet that is not out there to sell sell sell and make money ans who really cares about your animal. Google reviews of side effects of seresto, you will be amazed all the issues it can cause.
I never use them for in this case my dog agter i read the ingredients.
Pluck rhem off as soon as i do thick check daily and he is 80% white so its easy.
I put natural oils safe for dogs and cats.

Why my kitten is lying everywhere and don't have balance in her back legs ?
Catnip grows all over my property. The cats will not eat it lol.
I have several catnip plants but my cats only eat the dried catnip from the pet store. Plants don't help outside as monkeys drop fleas from neighbour's tree & Sox is allergic. I know fkeas are everywhere basically but I never had this problem before I moved. Yes there were fleas at my (late) mother's jungle like garden but only now with this troupe of monkeys am I having an issue & the vet thinks they are the main source. Definitely not food allergy. Thankfully Sox's boy isn't allergic. We have mosquitoes year round. Our young cat (also ex feral adopted us) died from a heart attack likely from heartworm.
I USE REVOLUTION, FLEA, AND TICK ON MY CAT SO HOW BAD IS THAT ONE? And yes, she is A indoor-outdoor cat / I buy from my veterinarian for my cat
I was using Revolution Plus but after reading about the spot on topical treatments I stopped. Someone sponsored my 2 cats the 3 month Bravecto Plus but I'm too scared to use it now.

My whole house has diatomous powder . It looks so odd , but everytime u tell me wat i may b avoiding in my home and fr my pet , i m so content .
Ya , it creates dryness esp if ur pet was lying on it or near n then they put paw on u or sit on u ??? ! I m not quite sure !
Will washing ur hands will prevent it to make dry?
Can ut transfers to whole body if we keep scratching diffrnt parts ??
Does dog skin also get dry ?
ANSWER !! If u can ..
Is this working? I cannot see that it posted my answer
Ah, I will try again. If you have it thought your house, and leave a old towel or small blanket for you cat to lay on, I am sure they will only roll in the Dearth if they feel they need it, and licking it off their paws will not hurt them because many people use the diatomaceous earth to worm cats and dogs.
And if you mix up the flea remedy in the last part of this video, and use it once or twice a week, I am sure the oils in it will help moisturize the skin of your dog or cat and you comb it through the coat.
I am not sure about your hands. If you are having problems with dryness of your hands after petting or scratching your pet, I am sure gently washing your hands and using a moisturizer would help with that.
Give the measurements like 1/4 cup of oil mils I don’t know measurements but I guess look up even though no fleas present because my cats don’t go outside only to Banfield! I have roaches which I got rid of bugmd! I clean everything every day! That’s why no fleas! Brewers yeast has wheat I won’t use that. But catnip okay.
Yes finally catnip oil yes !!!! I
