Truth is darker. His real life was ruled by mega-corporations who did not see the value in educating the masses too much. He likely only ever had a elementary school education. And even if he could have gotten the opportunity for further studies (I doubt there were any unless you were a child of one of the corporation heads) he couldn't as he had to start working immediately to survive, as his mother died from exhaustion while she was still trying to make his favorite dinner. Ainz his original world was dark. "Trying not to trip over the dead orphans on my way to work" kind of dark.

But they didn't(The most likely reason is that ainz could just bullshit the way with then and they just continued the test...because it's basic high level combat resist time stop).

As I said I originally watched it Subbed & I fell in love with Aqua (& Megumin) but when I went to download Isekai Quartet in Dub & realised that Aqua's Dub Voice was exactly the same as Malty from Shield Hero...I just couldn't watch it Dubbed...I hate Malty with a passion & I can't stand that one of My Waifus has to share a voice with a Character I really hate...So I ended up watching Isekai Quartet Subbed for both Seasons

Aqua is immune because she's a goddess, Tanya and Subaru are immune because they've both already experienced time freezing. Tanya when she's talking to Being X and Subaru when he mentions Return By Death.
