Scarily enough, in Overlord anyone who gets tortured by Kyouhukou gets eaten by cockroaches inside out then healed spotless by a healing potion. Victims get traumatized so bad they refuse to eat solid food for weeks, months, or even years.
That guy managed to make the viewers feel a tiny bit of sympathy to the Eight Fingers for a tiny amount of time (considering who they are, that is something)
