Great video! But would be much better without the overpowering background music.

Thank you so much for posting this great tutorial, it really helped me out. I appreciate it, you really made it easy as 123 like you said. 14mm range should definitely Be a longer arm so it would be more comfortable to adjust the pulley. Thanks a million!

Has this Sc430 been reliable for you? I'm wanting one but I have found one with 160k miles on it. I wanna buy it but concerned about reliability and repair costs i they come up? how has yours been?

It’s not my vehicle however overall it hasn’t had much work done from what the customer informed me Mostly maintenance. It’s a smooth ride I’ll tell you that much haha. Repair costs overall will be a tad higher since it’s a “Lexus” would I buy one? Yes.

@@mechdjango3490 I'm looking at a 06 Lexus SC430, 130K miles, one owner vehicle, clean Carfax, great condition. Was checked by a Lexus dealer & nothing wrong was found. But...I don't believe the prior owner ever completed the timing belt replacement which Lexus recommends at 90K. Will I be OK without it being done, or should I insist that the used car dealer perform that service since it never was and, if so, is it true that the water pump & other things should also be replaced at the same time as part of the service? I've seen some people say Lexus recommends 90K but it isn't necessary with these engines, and others say you should definitely do it every 90K as they recommend. Any advice? Also, would you insist that the Lexus dealer perform the service or is this the kind of thing that, if the used car dealer/service center says they will do themselves & not charge, would you trust them to do it properly and with the right parts?

@@Oivey2000 If there are no service records available then I would say the safest thing to do is to replace it. You can try to push it to 140k but since you don't know what's been done its best to just address and not deal with a big headache later. I really doubt the used car dealership will be willing to replace it but it doesn't hurt to ask, nothing to lose there. If the dealership is not offering any sort of warranty in general then i would just walk away. I always tell people that are buying used cars that it's better to pay a bit more for a vehicle where the current or previous owner had service records than deal with other problems 2-3 wks down the road. It doesn't have to be a Lexus dealer just a reputable auto repair shop its not over complicated like other engines.

@@mechdjango3490 Thanks man. I know the Lexus dealership that serviced the vehicle & their records match Carfax's as far as replacements/tires/oil changes/antenna replacement, etc.... for what they did to the car. The pre-sale inspection said everything looked great to them & nothing in need of repairs. But it appears the owner just never had the timing belt service replaced.

The SC430 is nice but repairs/insurance both are higher than other Toy/Lexus. They were built as a rich persons second car honestly, why its too small for a grocery getter. Like a Corvette there's just no storage understand!
That said' the Toy V8 engine is Toys most reliable engine. Not the greatest for gas mileage but the shear reliability will save you more money than a high gas mileage car will because the shop repairs take that savings away fast. My Toy V8 in my 2005 Tundra engine is based on the same design as this one and I now have 354k miles and not a major repair to date. No oil burning at all but' I did get my first oil leak as a valve cover started to seep. Easy repair for most anyone who tries... Google Million Mile Tundra to see just how well toys are built.
