Welcome to our first LIVE STREAM. Hopefully this goes alright! Obviously live streaming from the boat opens the door for a few technical issues, hoping to keep those to a minimum. In this stream we hope to show some methods I use to catch walleyes in weeds. The fish have not been super active but we hope to make it happen on this early summer day. We want you to ask questions in the comments section and I can answer them as I fish. Thanks for watching!

I think my favorite part of the live stream, it is unlikely I will ever get a chance to fish in the same boat with Tom, But watching the live stream is like I’m in the boat fishing with Tom.

I enjoyed this a lot. A lot of videos are just bringing in fish after fish. It’s helpful to see the frustrating reality that is familiar to us all. It’s also really helpful to just see the repetitive action of the casts from start to finish. In regular videos, the cast is sometimes hard to see. Most of the action is reeling them in. I’m about halfway through and hoping you do a jetboil lunch segment. Enjoy those!

Tom and Mitch, just wanted to say I love the live stream. My teenage son, who is not into fishing, was so excited with the live stream. He stopped what he was doing to watch. That’s impressive! Thx again and see you in Hayward!

It would be cool to do this type of thing on a brand new lake and show people the process of checking potential spots and eliminating water. And yes as a dude who also just got side imaging, it would be cool to do it without FFS. But I can’t complain, you have 4-5 years of content out there with DI and SI only.

I think this is great. I think it's good to show that even tho your using mega live it still takes a lot of effort to catch fish. Too many people get the wrong impression think live scope makes fishing automatic and gives a negative impression on the realities of using livescope. It's just another tool in the boat. Good job Tom

I’m in Canada, retired recently. Planning a trip to Old Post Lodge.
Plan to fly to Thunder Bay, rent a pickup for the rough roads, drive 4 hrs to the lodge.
We usually go deep into very back lakes and camp.
This time where going to get the meal package, after a long day of fishing I deserve to have my meals made I guess.
Tons of Walleys and Huge Pike.
A guy I bumped into said he’s been 4 times and just loves it.
It’s very close to being the last road heading north..

Livestream was great. It isn’t super concise and point driven as your usual videos are but shows real life daily fishing situations not just catching em. Some viewers think all days are catch fests. The way these fish are acting is exact same as in west central Minnesota. I like this live format more than normal videos but a lot involved to do it

    I’m in southern Ontario Canada.
Lake Erie is awesome for Pickerel. finding their preferred depth is crucial.
Up north I finally zeroed in on catching them only. I bought a decent fish finder and trolling rods. Caught my first to walleye in Georgian Bay in 42 years once I cleaned up my way of thinking, and just focused on pickerel only.

Upgraded to a Helix 10 Mega Si this year from the same 7" unit last year. I have a great clear pic dialed in no problem. I am staying at Mille Lacs for the entire summer. Have probably caught 300 eyes this year and a bunch of big smallies. I can honestly say, I have yet to clearly id a fish on my SI. Looked for white dots, white small rice, black rice etc. Just don't get it. Sat yesterday for several hours slip bobbering and nailed em all day. I am perplexed.

    • @amac4170
      @amac4170 10 днів тому

Change your sensitivity, contrast,or maybe the colors palate settings. Hard bottoms like sand, gravel, and rocks have a bright sonar return that can make discerning bright spots of fish returns difficult. If that doesn't help, look for shadows on hard bottom (bright) return areas.
Tip* Reduce the SI range. Keep it at 60-80' for the si image. The shorter your range is set for Side Imaging, the larger the fish marks will be on your screen. Bigger marks are easier to see.

I didn’t get to watch during the live session but still like the variety with it. Kind of like the MLF format in a way, unedited fishing action gives another viewing experience.

Jeff in De Pere & Manny Waters - my 1st comment - HAD to tell you this was SOOOOOOO COOL to watch even though I didn't catch it live. I AM a subscriber but don't know how I'd get flagged to know when you will next do this? Can you tell me? It was a really need feeling being on the boat with you guys - thought it would be a 2 hr snooze fest but was surprised at the entertainment & teaching value it was!!! Takes some kahunas to do it live & let us see a REAL trip - vs the guys who have to take the fish off their guides line, put it on theirs, send it swimming away and THEN turn the camera on like THEY caught it! Great job guys, please do it again - and let us know how we can find out AHEAD of time!! Audio was fine/great, video with that inserted graph excellent but like many of us out here, just getting over paying off my Apex installation & integrated new trolling motor from 2 yrs ago. Finding the $$$$ for live & related gear is still a year or two away for me! Give you a 7 (mainly for the guts it took to show a live event & what it took you to pull it off). Do it again!

Okay I have a new Mega Live and figured I would ask the pro. How deep in the water does the transducer need to be. I have a deep V boat and my Mega Live is on the bow but my pole is only so long. Does it matter so long as the transducer is at least covered in water?

I don’t rag on who ever I’m fishing with.
When I’m fishing, it’s us against them type thing.
Busting my partners chops doesn’t put fish in the boat.
