Welcome back to another video. Today we are on Lake Sakakawea in North Dakota and we are trying to find some walleyes on this massive body of water. In this video I am using a brand new bait, the Kale's Tungsten Search Bait. This bait is extremely versatile...it can be casted trolled or jigged. In this video I show how I like to fish it. Yes, I have had some that look like that, just change the regular hook to the slow death hook but I like the idea of Tungsten. gonna have to try it. I fish on Lake Erie.

Been using this lure for years and it's deadly. The erie dearie being the original and lately the WNC death jig. Love casting to pods of fish with live imaging. The addition of tungsten from Kalins will be great!

Bought some of these last year. Didn’t catch any walleye, but caught some of the biggest perch I’ve ever seen.
$12 bucks a pop, umm….nope.

Seems like a Northland whistler jig. They are pretty successful, these should work well too.
It's an interesting category of baits. The next video I filmed kinda shows another unique way to fish it.

Thank you , thank you , thank you for introducing me to the Kalin's plastic products. The Kalin's was instrumental in hooking up a 26 inch walleye this spring and through the summer. I found a couple of different ways to use the Kalin's other than casting on a jig. Love your videos.

always a great day when you show up at noon and its bumpy tie on a bait and catch 10 or so walleyes in a hour. i don't know about search bait might be "the bait" after watching that 😃

It's seems to be a number of things. Kalins one is tungsten.... different blade design. Rattle in eyes.

There ya go guys! He just showed us all how to basically cast a pole and put it in a rod holder. His live scope didn't catch all the fish, his nice boat didn't make them jump in it, its a new lake with big water, that should make everyone happy! Hopefully everyone can give this a try regardless of their set up. Ill have one on one of my poles. Thanks Tom!

@user-lv6ec2zw7u unless you just want to use nothing but jigs and drop-shoting what bait doesn't cost $10. Just a heads up, if you don't have $10, then fishing isn't a good sport to get into.

@@TommySargent-s2w Not sure if you know what inflation is? That's how that happened hero! I'm simply talking about what baits cost now days including this one. It doesn't have anything to do with Tom. There is constantly guys complaining about his boat, his technology, etc. I simply said he casted a bait out and set it in a rod holder. I'm sure 40 years ago this bait would have been $1.99, but we aren't fishing in the 1980's any more. My grandpa isn't using the same tackle today that he was when he was in his 20's and even if he did he wouldn't be paying the same price for it. Use a jig head and a worm I don't care. But be careful, I would dig your own worms cause if you buy them you may spend $3.50 a dz. Ha

Amazing! When you can read the graphs like a pro, your catching fish! You can throw almost anything and fish are hitting it. I still have a ways to go with reading the graphs but next is live scope, my buddy has it and it’s almost too easy when you have all the electronics.

I got to fish out of a Glass boat on Big water and High wind. It was way better than getting pounded in an Aluminum boat even if it is Wide! Great content on the New bait! The WNC Death Jigs are so similar?
Yeah the warrior makes my job much easier that is for sure.
It's an interesting category of lures. The fact this is tungsten gets me excited because it keeps it all more compact. I love compact finesse baits.

Do you tight straight braid or fluorocarbon leader with swivel to this new new?
10# braid to 10# flouro lead
I just ordered two of the 5’3” and one 7’2” 2b genesis. On one of the comments you stated that you use 10# braid to 10# fluorocarbon leader. I just watched the video “How to troll like a pro” and in that video you stated that you like to use monofilament on those rods. Just curious if you found that the braid/Fluoro combo was working better than just monofilament . I normally pull spinner crawler harnesses.
Is there a trick to casting these? Every time I cast the search bait the hook gets caught up on the line. I'm using the slow death hook. I haven't tried the straight hook yet. I hope that fixes the issue. I bought 10 of these primarily for casting. Please let me know if there is a trick to cast them and not get the hook fouled up on the line.

As a bass fisherman, i’ve never understood the allure of trolling. I get bored quick even if i’m catching fish, but I can happily spend 12 hours flipping into cover for a few bass. I guess it’s just a different expectation for your fishing outing?

If you really want to see that lure Pop, add Hyper Vis to it. You will be amazed at much more efficient that lure will become. Tight lines.

Was fishing with weight forward spinners like this 35 years ago. Erie Dearie was one but I mostly used one made by Mepps.
Love to catch them on Spinning Tackle rather than Levelwinds with bottom bouncers !
