Hands down, the most educational and entertaining walleye video on UA-cam. Every time I watch one of your videos, it makes me want to get in my boat and on the water.
Great tips, and timely that I just came across it this morning. Got to say, crankbaits were left off the list?!? Okay, I'll cut you some slack since you don't like trolling. 🤣 Great vid, Brett!
I’m not even a walleye fisherman, I’m a bass fisherman from Texas, yet I have somehow ended up on the Walleye side of fishing UA-cam! Not complaining tho! This is informative as hell, entertaining to boot! Also, nice to know that love of Gulp and Powerbait smell is universal among fisherman 😂
Hey, Monte. That technique with a 1/2 ounce brought me a ton of success this spring/summer. Try to keep your trolling speed up a little. 1.3-1.7 mph. It'll help keep it slightly off bottom, in the strikezone. If your lake is weedier, like the ones I fish, try trolling it along the weed line, not right in them. You'd be surprised how those eyes' will bolt right out the weeds to grab your bait. Oh! And a little wind always helps too!
As always great video Brett. One other technic that I would add is drop shot Last week we were at lake and drop shot was catching almost twice fish comared to other technics. We would put a leech or a half crawler or later in the season, a tail hooked live minnow. It was taking literally no time to get a bite with drop shot last week.
Awesome video brother! Ever charter or let folks fish with yah? Had to buy most your list lol but I had most of it just not some of the colors and sizes you mentioned
wish some of these so called walleye experts would catch on to the fact that a lot of us dont live up north and give us some tips on walleye fishing deep in the south or are they not the experts they claim to be?
I think you do a great job on your walleye videos. I'm going for monsters. Last yr I caught and released 5, over 33 inches in 2 days. Think last yr I released 15 different walleye non pregnant at 33inches or over and 12-17 lbs. And they get much bigger, seen them. Columbia River
Focused on Walleye, used a bottom bouncer and bingo, first Walleye in Georgian Bay in 35 years. July in 28’ of water. 1 once bottom bouncer and I used a clip on weight to get down, was noticing the light bounce with 55’ of line out at 1.2 Mph.
I’m in a kayak and our lake is snag city so I’m trying some of your techs. Really trying for walleye instead of bass this year. I did get a 5 lb smallie last week tho. Going to try a slip bobber next week.
Question. Was watching your videos on spring walleye jigging tips and was curious if you could use that same technique for fall walleyes? Talking about the juicebaits+VMC and the neon mooneye jigs+impulse minnow being used the same way you’d fish em in the spring. Is it even possible to catch them on swimbaits in the fall? Very new to walleyes and love the channel!!
Absolutely man! A lot of people move out deep in the fall and chase walleyes by dragging creek chubs or with Jigging-Rap style baits...but there's a ton of fish that will move right back into those spring spots and stay shallow! Can use the same exact techniques while the water is still warm-ish to cool. Once the water temps start dropping into the low-50s it's time to start slowing your presentations way down. Thanks so much for watching!
@@TargetWalleye Thanks for the information!! I think it would be good to do a video on your top fall baits and techniques like you did for spring walleye! Love the tips and knowledge man
Awesome video. Seriously!! Lately it seems like almost every other UA-camr is basically showing us Livescope and Mega Live videos showing themselves vertical jigging to highlight the tech not technique.
Yeah, there’s still a lot of guys doing more teaching, than showing of electronics thank goodness and maybe it’s just a phase that they will go through and then maybe back off the electronics highlighting.
@@dogtoots8923 Yeah, once everyone has bought the TV screens they'll develop something else to peddle. Might as well just start electrofishing, it'll be that easy eventually. Sorry, I'm being cynical.

I subbed when you licked the powerbait off your finger. 😂
This comment makes me so happy 😂👊
Great video. How do you handle the weeds pulling that 1/2 oz weight with the spinner...

#1 walleye show on youtube!! Period😉
Richard from Kansas;)
definitely one of the more educational channels.
3:10 !! YOU THREW IT AWAY YOU COULD HAVE STILL USED IT 😭😭😭, anyways, worms and leeches are definetly a good bait for walleye
I was just hammering walleye on a weed line using a savage gear dragon tail Ned rig in a chartreuse/pink combo.
Im honored to b the 457 like
Hahaha heck yes! 👊
THANK YOU! Great video!
Thank YOU for watching!
"I know it's not right, buy I don't want to be right..." that's hilarious. Love it.
Here no live bait other than crawlers an crayfish, power bait crawlers fill a notch between live crawlers never any wasted bait great job .
Immediately sending this to my dad 😅
Everybody takes the purple end of the crawler first and the ass end gets thrown back to the fish gods!

smelling the bait and tasting it lmao.. subbed.
No slip bob or lindy?
great info as always brother, big thanks for sharing
Keep grinding bud! Thanks for the work.
Excellent presentation thanks
I love that smell too 🤣
Your opinion for 4",or 7" Gulp spinner rig crawler, by Barclay. Are they coming in a jar for ,,recharging" ?
i hate walleyes..... and love them too! damn fish lol. great content as usual, keep it up
I like this guy’s channel, but I would LOVE it if he do some river fishing or give river fishing advise. I. Live on the Mississippi River Wisconsin.

If I have to troll to catch walleyes, that's when I head into shore to drink beer and talk smack.

As much as I like the looks of the perch coloured lures, I’ve never caught any kind of fish on one…
Just pack another tackle box and sell it as a kit. I’ll buy three!
Excellent info/vid! Thank you!
Love it, Brett! How about Mr. trusty ol' slip bobber?!

What? No tickle minnow?
Not the most glamorous?? What’s not glamorous about using a jig and a crawler.
I hear ya! People like catching 'em on "trendy" new-school tactics...but I just like catching 'em hahah. Thanks for watching.

Pods are herds of mammals, not fish
And fry are newly hatched fish that are just a few days old...not a last name. 😅
👍👍

Obviously all these electronics are being pushed on youtube fishing videos because of 💵💵💵. Pretty annoying, and really almost cheating in my opinion.

Why you wearing a jacket in the summer?
Could be morning or it looks like it was possibly raining there. This guy is legit. No BS.
@@shootermcgavin991 oh I know, he has answered me on a couple things. I’m a big fan of his.
That footage of the walleye coming out of the weeds to hit that ned rig was pretty cool.
