A fantastic performance ! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I'm not afraid to say I've cried to this piece multiple times.
I understand
@@salehk8542 So do I...
And that there is true bravery!
I've cried while playing it. It's so sad and beautiful. Sol is a great cellist.
Same I also cry to Mahler no. 5 adagietto

Want to write a Cello Concerto in this style: The Cello plays alone with a Tutti Piano, and after the theme is exposed by the first time, the orchestra enters. Please music, allow me to be a composer to manifest more your presence.
You can do it!!!!
Absolutely beautiful performance. She's the 21st century queen of the Elgar Cello Concerto. Very unique CGI projection onto the cello, love it! She performs the full concerto with Sir Simon Rattle and the Berliner Philharmoniker on CD and DVD.
This cello concerto has just become one of my favorites. The artistry of Sol Gabetta combined with the melody. Absolutely beautiful.
I wish there was a full version of this!

2:40 oh my god
I FEEL IT
forget about that, its just a scale. Dont get fooled by the flashyness, listen to the melody right before. Much more impact there than in the scale. Orchestra after the culmination of the scale is also nice.
@@alexandersmith8261 i dont even know why i wrote that, i was probably just in the mood of being a smartass. Point was that people (probably not you then) get impressed by flashy parts that arent really musically interesting. Then they actually miss the musically well written parts cause they just search for fast passages or really high passages. But you probably dont have that problem then.
I legit teared up every time that climax hit.
I don't know what it is about this particular piece of cello music, but it just touches my heart on a whole other level. The depth of each note, it just pierces straight into my soul like nothing else. It emulates such sorrow and pain, it is just so unbelievably beautiful
Omg I swear she's one of my favorite cellists, her chopin etude c sharp minor is the bestttt
This is IT. Here I Will stop all my wanderings searching for a place to rest. Thanks for your lofty hospitality
Sol Gabetta had a great performance but Jacqueline Du Pre had a heavenly one.
Why always compare... Music is something in the present.
I'm seeing sound without LSD.. is that normal?
I normally listen to edm music while tripping, but man I'd be afraid to listen to this, i think i'd break down.
I never thought anyone could come close to Jacqueline Dupre's interpretation of the Elgar... This women however, has come very near.
I’ve watched many, many videos of people playing this song. This is by far the best, imo. She’s perfect…
Have you watched Jacqueline du pre?
It's a concerto (as it states clearly in the title) not a song. It is never a song unless someone is, you know, singing!
Still the best.
@@FoxyJohncome on...
There's no words to describe the how stunning this performance was... I am lost for words.
This is my favorite version
Sol Gabetta is a shining muse.
Okay, but 2:45 was actually really cool.
how can 22 people possibly dislike this!?
Sublime. Les accords sont parfaits. Quel niveau d'interprétation !
There was a mistake at 3:06
A german aristocrat ssibal
@@mooseah7835 lol... I think that went right over your head.
Yea, why did they end the video? That was a huge mistake!
Could this possibly be inspired by Kaki King, who did exactly that with her Guitar?
where can i find information about this efect, i wanna do something similar to this for my graduation concert, but i live in colombia and i don't know if there is this tecnologic in my country
This might be a fitting visualization of how someone with visual synaesthesia - seeing sound as specks of color - might see music. Not accurate, but close enough to imagine how it gets visualized.
WoW--emotionally powerful performance. could do without all the fancy lightshow though.
4 deaf-blind people disliked this.
Blind yet clicked the dislike button? This comment was stupid years ago and hasn't aged any better.
+LevityMire Ok
Yes, get your facts straight. 5 people with absolutely zero taste in music disliked this! :)

+Niall Stewart get your facts straight. 18 jealous fools disliked this
FINALLY she's wearing sleeves! Sooooo much better.
This presentation was Amazing. From the start to the very end where ends with the full orchestra.
They knew we would want to hear the full sound explosion in the end. And the timing was absolutely PERFECT.
They knew how to do this right.
Realy FENOMENAL.
I want to see this live, this looks beyond amazing! It really brings another dimension in to music to see it light up with the music.
I saw her at the proms, and it was beyond moving to tears. x
I couldn't get tickets to see her! I got ticket's for August!
You're in for a treat!
Sol Gabetta is the best!
Who threw up on that poor cello at 1:57
Lol
It was Jackson Pollock
great performance, sadly diminished by the light show.
It’s so beautiful so amazing, this is the music of my soul
...pure beauty
La Afrodita del Cello!!!!! ❤
Great piece and Player in time for this difficult time, so like the time of Elgar
This sounded so good and looked so cool!!
55 folks have ears of dust!
Impressive.
What a beautiful and touching performance ❤️ I love all your expression, and the projection on your cello is amazing. Thank you for being an inspiration to me, I always love watching your performances.
The rain visual was an amazing touch when the piano came back !
its Amazing !! OMG
I love how they did those cool lights on the cello.
I love this so much. So so much.
The opening number chokes me every time. This whole piece shows me such sorrow
Oh gosh, if I were'nt married! Elgar's concerto is sometimes criticized, but why? It's amazing and fully reflective of the turmoil going on in his life at the time: WW I and his wife's recent death. Why can't his music reflect this? Anyway, Ms. Galbetta is brilliant, as always!
Thomas Petrie However, the concerto's wife died a long time ago...
Thanks!
Thomas Petrie why 'thanks' ?
For correcting my horrible English, that's all.
Thomas Petrie wtf it wasn't about that at all, btw your English is far better than mine
0:35 to 0:40 that looked suspicious...
Incredibly gorgeous.
Incredible!! Seeing things like that makes me excited and i wish that i see it with more instruments.
Hace Sol (the Sun is shining) in London. A similar infrared technology could help to prevent future terrorist bombings and ambush attacks against police officers and innocent civilians. May the 85 victims of the AMIA bombing never be forgotten, as well as Prosecutor Alberto Nisman (1963 - 2015), on the 22nd anniversary this July 18th. I believe that Sir C.V. Raman would have loved this video as it so beautifully combines his interests of light scattering and the resonant principles of stringed instruments. Raman instrumentation could also play an important part in preventing and investigating future terror attacks.
Bravissima!!
Wow love it sound beautiful
i just like the second theme
No one does that run at the three-minute mark the way she does. She will never be mistaken for being beautiful, but her hair looks nicer here than in other settings. That said, I'm not ready for the psychedelic addition. June 1, 2022
Sol Gabetta, since now it will remain on my mind ....wow!
Wonderful 😢
Every night i dream of being that cello
Goosebumps at 1:20 and of course, the end. More like this!
Here from Wednesday
I will not stop until I learn this whole thing I do not care if it takes the rest of my life
It probably will
nice performance but the cello is lit
Full video???????
Ah.. não consigo descrever o quanto amo o violoncelo! Divino!
She's easy to watch.
The light show is like eating an apple or changing the tire of a ca, the fact that it can be done does not mean it helps. Music creates something of an alternative to our basic lives, one we hope is better in some way, and the light show is not a help.
I think it may also be with the aim of getting more young people into classical music, you can just ignore it if it bothers you that badly
A interpretação e essa técnica projetiva digital são emocionantes.
this is the most enjoyable opening of any concerto I’ve played. but also what in hell is happening to that cello😂😟
Outstanding stuff. 😊😊
2:36 climax!
ah how charming
Sol Gabetta - the very best at this amazing piece of music ❤🤩
WOW.....this is gorgeous.
Hi.
Fabulous piece ;-)
Me encanta❤❤❤
Marvelous!
lindo
So wonderful ! ❤️❤️❤️
THE END WHEN THE FULL ORCHESTRA CAME IN
Musica mais linda da minha vida
cool picture, but jacqueline du pre might have the best version...
trevortuck oh no she does
trevortuck Either Jacqueline du pre or yo yo ma
Yeah but the thing is that yo yo ma is already the premier cello player of the world. Du pre makes the piece outstanding
i'm not sure what my user should be I totally agree...I'm talking about the quality, in which they are both equal. Du pre is possibly better. I'll never know because the first movement is entrances me so much, I get almost hypnotized by how beautiful it is.
Oh yes well I agree
Tapete no es un adiós sino un hasta luego
Das sick
sublime stuff!
Exquisita música..!
Being a musician is not about how much flash your instrument has, it is about how much skill you have.
I love the visual effects. Very beautiful. Too bad they couldn't show the stresses in the cello as it is played an overlay the music as color and drawing onto the cello.
Que incrível
One of the best cellists...
I play the cello and I'm 13 years, I'm in grade 5 In music.. My teacher -Danielle spada- told me to see Sol's performances ..
thanks a lot it affected me much, maybe she will become my idol 😍😍
1 year later: I'm actually practicing this piece and it's kind of hard to play it well , I'm going to play it in my exam.
so this is what szamar madar is based on
Wich author\model is her Cello? It is looking like a Stradivarius.
Sol and her music are sublime.
Guadagnini made in 1759 / loaned to her by a foundation
wth happened 2 ur cello?@
Ich liebe das. Sie spielt so schön ^^
wow
Incredible!
What's going on with the cello? It's so cool. Is light being shined on it in a creative way or is there some kind of florescent material in the cello itself? Or was it photoshopped on afterwards?
I might find that distracting but it is cool.
Chris Fox it's a light show
It's appalling and so distracting . Don't know whether the artist or the BBC decided to fool around like this . Usually the BBC do a great job with camerawork and lighting .
How does this have dislikes?
嗜书瘾君子
Maravillosa versión.!!!
