Splatfests in the Splatoon™ 3 game for the Nintendo Switch™ system reach a “grand” finale in the music-filled Grand Festival in-game event* ! From the minute your Inkling or Octoling arrives at the train station and walks through the ink shower unscathed, you’ll see why this is a Splatfest like no other.
This Splatfest for the Splatoon 3 game runs Sept. 12-15 with a four-day festival of music, ink-stained competition, and community fun. There are surprises lurking everywhere, from the field of competition to the rafters high above the main concert stages-where, this time, it’s not just the Anarchy Splatcast hosts Deep Cut who are getting in on the act!
Players will choose between three different musical acts from all three Splatoon games as they try to answer the impossible question: “Which is the most important to you: Past, Present or Future?” To participate, you'll need the Splatoon 3 game and a Nintendo Switch Online membership*. Color us excited!

Nintendo's got nothing on the Splatoon Community when it comes to doing Splatfest announcements right, especially for the Final Fest for Splatoon 3 before we look towards what is next in Splatoon's legacy.
This is much better than the official one. Idk why Nintendo just had to resort to just using static pictures of the other idols instead of animate them video calling on the TV.

I love how you took your original Grand Festival announcement idea (Off the Hook and the Squid Sisters hijacking Deep Cut's Anarchy Splatcast broadcast) and improved it here.
Again, I _really_ hope this is how Nintendo does it. We haven't seen the Squid Sisters or OtH in their old newscaster rooms for a long time (at least, not while the cameras are on), so it'd be a really nice thing to see.

As a big time Splatoon fan, this animation and dialogue was so refreshing and well made. Not many can really replicate the exact feeling that Splatoon gave me years ago when I got into it, but this really did it for me. It sucks that Nintendo literally couldn’t make it, but I’m glad it’s given me the chance to find and appreciate such an underrated video and UA-cam channel! Instant subcription. I love this so much. The way it was announced with just the screens of them reminds me of an old splatoon game i made on scratch for the "News"
This is really cool !!! Despite not playing Splatoon 2 much or playing the first game at all, seeing Off the hook first appear made me feel a sense of nostalgia :3

People keep asking why this wasn’t the official announcement, and I think I have an idea
It looks like these cutscenes are actively rendered in the game, which allows the tentacles to flow and the characters to fluidly stop and go as the player reads. For them to actively program not just Deep Cut’s movements BUT ALSO o actively adding OtH’s and SS’s models, sets, movements, etc, probably would not have been viable both for programming but also for downloading as an update. They probably would have been better off fully doing a pre-rendered cutscene, but then it probably wouldn’t have worked well with the news function.
In the end, it seems they painted themselves into a corner with this one,
It actually is possible. Someone modded their game to make the announcement actually have each idol's studios. I don't understand why people think they didn't do it due to switch power limitations, it was most likely due to time or other reasons.
@@BrodgttiProductions I may have misspoken, I wasn’t suggesting that the switch couldn’t handle it, I was suggesting that they probably didn’t have a viable way to make it happen in an update while keeping it compatible with the splatfest announcement format that is programmed in the base game installation

If I had to guess what the next game would be about based off of the winning team: past would be the harmonious pre great war era, president would involve the salmonid and their increasingly destructive nature, and future would show off how advance cephalopod creation/tech could get. If
I had to stretch these ideas and think of the next playable species for each game, past would probably get a cuttlefish/allie to one side, present would make salmonid playable (either with salmonid or dead by daylight style were we attack the turflings), and future would either have cyborgs or sentient ai.

I love the mouth animation detail, callie and marie having the whole few frames, pearl and marina having more, and deep cut having the many frames like in the game. Very nice!
Please Read for understanding:
Okay, in short, this is definitely cool. But, the two year development of SEVEN different rendered models put into one (practically loading screen) animated all at once whilst having several time consuming dialogue additions would basically instantly overheat your switch.
The amount of programming it would take to fully animate something for this would be harder than animating every Splatfest with choreography WHICH THEY HAD TO RENDER AS WELL ON A TWO WEEK TIME LIMIT!
That and adding Big Run would be much more complex than you think. Renderings are difficult as is, making it take a lot more time than it sounds, animations are even harder to have animate at different times and doing it all at once is difficult.
Time consumption, rendering, animation, programming, dialogue, global additions, two events in the span of two weeks (new music and animations for those events), Does that ALL sound easy?

I’m not trying to be rude or anything but it just would be too difficult.
