I swear Grandfest was the closest I ever got to genuine time travel. I was playing on Flounder Heights and low and behold Ink Me Up starts playing. I logically know this map is not the same as it used to be. Hell, I'm playing with a Dread Wringer as an Octoling in the year of our lord 2024! But man, my WiiU broke years ago in like 2016?? So ever sense then I only have my memories of Splat 1 to go by. Now I can't even go back without hacking... Needless to say, I had to pause for a long time after that game to emotionally process something way more poniente then just nostalgia. Goddamn Grandfest was something else.

You actually can go back without hacking, there's a (somewhat) new method of switching to fanmade servers that just involves changing the DNS settings. You need to hack to get Miiverse back though

Grand Fest was the best. For the first few minutes into the festival, I was just exploring the venue. Somehow, as I walked to the big stage for the first time, Ebb and Flow was just starting. And as someone who started in Splatoon 2, it hit me hard in the feels.

if you have any of the splatoon idol amiibos (or like. those little nfc tokens of them people make lmao) you can go to the festival grounds and re-experience the festival! you cant see the battles of course but you can still see all of the performances

I've never experienced a huge Splatfest before so this being my first and last was kinda poetic (especially since I played Splatoon 2 as a kid and never got into it) Also hearing Blushing Tide in a match made my bones ascend and heal my aura. Also hearing the Splatoon 2 Success tune also made me go a bit feral at first
As a winning member of team past i have to say im so greatfull to be able to play this grand festival or be able to play splatoon i first started to play splatoon in 2016 and splatoon has been a blast for me thank you splatoon for keeping us happy for 9 years❤ now we wait for Splatoon 4...

The first banger has a chokehold on me already, I've listened to it at least 4 times today 😳 Calamari Inkantion, Tide goes out, Ebb and Flow, Fly Octo Fly, and Hide and Sleek all did this to my brain too. They hide witchcraft in all of those for sure

no there are new mixes! someone on twitter compared the grandfest live versions with the normal live ones and there is some changes in mixing
