He never gave us up, he never let us down, he never ran around and he never deserted us. What a legend. Shall he keep Rick rolling people for years to come
He still has the deepness to his voice, but now it comes with a raspy, soulful energy that comes from his age. He still sounds amazing, arguably even better!
I know the vocals are a studio recording, but I'm still floored that it's his real voice. The voice is so different from what you expect when you look at him. What a set of pipes!
When his first album came out, many people who never saw him, thought he was black. Such deep soulful voice in a small package. Here looked like a kid in thre early videos. Granted he was very young then.
I really appreciate how much he embraces his cultural legacy. It can be frustrating for a lot of artists when most of your portfolio pales in comparison to one big hit, but I'm glad that Rick seems to be able to have fun with it.
@@El_Presidente_5337Yeah but this song came out 5 days ago and it is already fairly high in his top most popular songs on this channel. It has the most potential to become a new rickroll
I like how this song is very original, and that Astley didn't try to 'force' this song to be a meme, even though the title would almost suggest otherwise. Really nice song all in all!
the funny thing is that the meme song we're all thinking of isn't really so meme-y to begin with. It's just a really good song that somehow stuck with people. To me, it has in a way something poetic that internet trolls are never gonna stop rick rolling others. Is that weird? Maybe.
He truly didn’t give up. After all these years he’s truly kept his word. Legit though this song is absolutely incredible and I love the scenery that was throughout the video. Nice job.
A man who never lost touch of who he is despite the fast moving changes in the world given the recent two decades. It's safe to say this man is a legend and still has the same charm he used to even though he's older now.
@@jamescartier8728Wouldn't you agree that the world has drastically changed given the past two decades? All the technology and social media and how out of touch we are as people. Rick Astley stated in the top comment of this video that this was the purpose of filming and producing the song.
It's weird to hear him sing years after Never Gonna Give You Up and Together Forever. But my gosh, Rick's voice has matured beautifully. This song makes a callback to the hits of back then, it's so nostalgic... The setting for this video is pristine. Thank you for this gift, Rick!
He's been so active all this time. You're the one who misses a lot and never caught up any update from him. Throughout the years, his genre became like gospel music
His voice aged like a fine vintage. Absolutely wonderful to hear from him again. Getting Rickrolled wouldn't have caught on if his voice wasn't so catchy. Glad to hear from him again.
I never minded getting Rick-rolled because I've always unironically loved his music. & I actually remember the days of Rick-rolling people prior to YT & Facebook. What a time to be alive. 😂
Not only is it referencing his own "Never Gonna Give You Up" ("Never gonna") but also "We Didn't Start The Fire" ("Can't stop this world from turning, the fire's already burning"). There's probably other songs being referenced from "his era" too. His voice is absolutely golden. What a living legend. POP OFF KING!!!
I think he put 'never gonna' so it'd come up on the recommended bar when people look up never gonna give you up. Probably more to do with the business aspect than a creative tribute. It's cool that he made the lyrics relevant and meaningful whilst baring in mind the business
I got rick rolled. Rick Astley hasn't aged since he began his career. The man has incredible vocals. Pretty sure he can command anyone's attention at any given moment.
His voice became much much MUCH better with age. In 80s it sounded like a 100% meme material and now he's soulful singer with such a raspy vocals, love it
I like how the lyrics are somber and somewhat anxious, but the melody behind them is confident, resounding, and relaxed. The feeling this song gives off is indescribable
Can we please take a moment to appreciate that this legend is still making awesome music more than 35 years after giving us "Never gonna give you up". Thank you Rick Astley.
From thinking I was gonna be rickrolled any moment now to being hit with the exact feelings I'm having about the world's current fast paced digitalisation I'm wow. This is amazing. We do need more songs like this. Let's take care of our planet and the connections we make. ❤
It’s real…. The sequel, the legend, the legacy. Rick Astley, never give up because none of use are going to run around and desert you. You’ve earned every once of respect and fame you have now. Please, continue rolling us Rick.
I looove the vintage 60s feel to this song. And wow, his voice as an older man definitely shines more in this song than I've heard in some of his later stuff. His voice is still HAWT, just in a different way than it was when he was younger. Amazing. :) His wife is blessed. Very cute story about how this was shot. And I love the sentiment of the song too (I have a lot of luddite sympathy).
The full album is coming out October 6th, as a matter of fact - it's called "Are We There Yet?" his face, voice, and vocal tone has aged so incredibly well and it's so so rare for an artist to consistently create good music over such a long career - so many have lost themselves along the way but this solidifies rick astley as a complete legend in his genre
His voice has aged like fine wine, it feels like it has a walnut kind of flavor now I feel very honored that a world star has noticed the beauty of our forests

*likes* OH GOD I AM THE 666TH LIKE
I like how this song is very original, and that Astley didn't try to 'force' this song to be a meme, even though the title would almost suggest otherwise. Really nice song all in all!
the funny thing is that the meme song we're all thinking of isn't really so meme-y to begin with. It's just a really good song that somehow stuck with people. To me, it has in a way something poetic that internet trolls are never gonna stop rick rolling others. Is that weird? Maybe.
Memes aside his songs have always been great
@@patrickholzer6415because the og youtube hyperlinked all video links to a rick roll
Are you kidding me? The "never gonna" is exactly the same. My brain totally expected the "give you up" afterwards
Not sure what you meant by "two decades" but Never Gonna Give You Up came out 40 years ago
@@jamescartier8728Wouldn't you agree that the world has drastically changed given the past two decades? All the technology and social media and how out of touch we are as people. Rick Astley stated in the top comment of this video that this was the purpose of filming and producing the song.
To paraphrase: Nothing can stop what is coming?
It's weird to hear him sing years after Never Gonna Give You Up and Together Forever.
But my gosh, Rick's voice has matured beautifully. This song makes a callback to the hits of back then, it's so nostalgic...
The setting for this video is pristine. Thank you for this gift, Rick!
i thought this was a weird parody sequel to never gonna give you up for some goddamn reason

Don't Stop Believing, maybe?
I think he put 'never gonna' so it'd come up on the recommended bar when people look up never gonna give you up. Probably more to do with the business aspect than a creative tribute. It's cool that he made the lyrics relevant and meaningful whilst baring in mind the business

I think Rick needs to do a full album. He still has the talent to knock it out of the park.
The full album is coming out October 6th, as a matter of fact - it's called "Are We There Yet?"
