It’s interesting how his singing technique has changed from a really deep, smooth voice, to a more high-pitched, more gravelly voice. Usually people’s voices get deeper with age, not higher. But I’m guessing it’s an artistic choice, to fit with this type of music, which is also very different in style and genre from the old stuff.
I hated his music when I was young, the pop stuff that he was forced to produce. This song is one of my favourite songs ever written. I have total respect for this man now. Thank you Rick. Your songs give me hope again.

This song is not about a great voice, or great melody or anything...but about maturity...the one who believes in strength above, out of sight...and the video is made absolutely amazing picturing this idea. WOW WHAT A SONG, for a guy who isn't a Christian, nor claims to have a belief in God; even though he sang in a church choir as a kid. I think it's inside him just waiting to be discovered. Watching the practice rehearsal with them lined up like a choir, and Hugh Jackman just having surgery and not supposed to sing.....SHEEEEEW....it was like being in church.
This video deserves a special praise for the fact that, as Rick is a middle-aged man, the dancers are grown-up ladies, instead of a bunch of young girls that could be his daughters.
