Some states are real easy to get a custom vehicle titled. Not living in CA like these guys likely do, im not sure how theyd best go bout it. Most people find it easiest to buy a title and vin plate from a vehicle that wont ever be driven again. Since i live in a state where it is easy to title a custom vehicle, id likely just use the MSOs and have it inspected.
Probably no different than a Factory 5 "Cobra". Depends on what state you are in. Some are if it looks like something from the era, good enough. Speaking of Factory 5. They are in Mass. All their cars owned by them that make to TV seem to have Rhode Island plates. Then you have engine emissions. It was made now, so you need to be up to 2021 emissions of the state because it's a new vehicle.
@@dlewis9760 All they did is replace a couple of rusty panels. This is the original Bronco, All you have to do is check the VIN number on the "original" glove box door.
Awesome build and great to learn different techniques but how could someone afford this build? Even doing it yourself the parts alone would have to be ridiculous. A ground up build would be ridiculous. I would believe finding a body damaged but great shape otherwise modern vehicle would be the way to go. Remove the body then modify the bronco panels to the modern frame.
Really a shame the original vehicle was a bust, but the erector-set vehicle build is actually REALLY interesting! Not something I'd do, but the process is educational. HOW are you getting a VIN on this build??? (Or are you?)
So, at what point is it still a 70s bronco? Don't get me wrong, I think what they're doing is super cool, but at this point it looks more like a replica than a restoration
in Massachusetts, I am 90% thru a 68 where only 4 items are original. 2 axles, tub, frame. sandblast, weld, body work, single stage paint, crate engine, 4R70W A/T, everything else and it's at $40,000.
what was the total costs?? Was it was less than buying a new truck or jeep? ALSO How did you register it for use on the road??? is it off road only?? Will you have to pay taxes since you built it yourself????
Was weld destruct testing done throughout the build? would like to see nugget results for different material thicness / multiple layers. could be a unplesant suprise if welds fail in use
Is the frame they are using from the aftermarket certified by any federal agency? Has crash testing been done? If this thing was to get into an accident, what happens when either the police or the insurance company find out this is a "home made" truck? I know nothing about the classic car resto business, so these are just questions out of curiosity.
You bought a Bronco . Found to much rust , Throw it all in the trash including the frame with its ID numbers . So I guess you will keep the vin tag so it can be registered . Or did you throw it away and walk away with nothing from the purchase ?

Stupid question . Are you guys going to get a VIN number for this Bronco?? And if so , how are you going to do it??
Probably swapping vin numbers would be my guess even though it’s highly frowned upon
Probably have to get a safety inspection and then get a new VIN just like a homemade trailer or a kit car.
They are stealing it from the the other brocno they pretend couldn't be fixed. So it one real brocno that will never be able to get registered again.

Having built over 10 of these bronco 's . You should have started with the cowl first. Might have been easier?

So a garage , property and tools can equal a NEW CAR. or PLANE.
Car: possibly. Plane: unlikely.
Why go find an old one to fix, just to build a new one? Why not just leave the old one out there for someone else to find and fix
