Yo keezy I really love ur videos man I've watched every single one cause you one of the only "fashion" UA-camrs that still rocks with early 2000s style. If you got some time please check out my ig and let me know what you think bro 🙏🙏 @abstract_institution
There's a lot that goes into it, it's not just group think. Some people just want the hype, they look at all the celebrity fit pics and try to find out what they're wearing. A lot of times people already thought a look was cool but they were too insecure about being different. Like the cross section of people into tech wear and anime. The last 1 is when something starts gaining popularity you see it when maybe you wouldn't have before. Like fanny packs, people thought it looked good to wear them across the chest and people who normally wouldn't see or think to wear 1 like that that like the look start doing it. For me it was Kappa brand. I had no idea celebrities were wearing it and saw a hoodie on the street for the 1st time and thought it was super dope before I knew about the hype. I liked it so much that kappa is still 1 of my favorites when it comes to hoodies even tho the hype is pretty dead
Yeah they are likely to get a retro next year. In the mean time you can check out Collegium Pillar Destroyers which is a great alternative to the neutral grey imo
I really dig this whole movement towards reworked vintage now, but tbh its easy for some of the pieces to become a lil corny :/ Also, I think archive pages are great for someone like me, who only got into streetwear in the past 2-3 years, because it lets me learn more about streetwear of the past. I still remember the first time I saw a 90s Stussy varsity on one of the pages 🤯🤯🤯
MY MAN COULDNT HAVE SAID IT ANY BETTER! couple small points i wanna point out. 1. i love the fact that you give shoutouts and credits to other youtubers. Mad respect to what they do and you as well. YOURE the only one that does it this way, its creative and sick!. 2. its crazy how much you've grown on your channel a year ago, THERES NO ELSE TO GO BUT UP HOMIE
Workwear is my latest obsession lol. I like the simplistic design and minimal branding. I started feeling like an old guy trying to look cool wearing graphic tees. Carhartt, dickies, Vans, 5 panels and dad hats. Can't go wrong.
I think my biggest pet peeve a lot of times is the lack of originality from all of the “fashion” spectrum. So many people just “see, see, see” then buy to emulate someone else’s exact perspective. Trends are a huge part of fashion but it makes me sad sometimes seeing people who you can tell aren’t being their true self because they want to be someone else. Like just be you bro lol Great video though it was well put together bro!
Hey man thanks for the kind words and shout, really appreciate it. You supported my on UA-cam for a while, probably since 2016/2017 around that time but thank you man! Looking forward for more content. 👍👍
Really dope video . I really dig the cut and sew stuff but not really when mixing brands , that just makes it a bit corny . But it is a great way to be creative and stand out .
I like where fashion is at right now with the ‘Workwear’ esthetic. Super easy to get into and always looks clean. I can see myself rocking this style for a while
Not sure why anyone should be too worried about putting their hard earned money in the pockets of mega corporations and multi millionaires with unnecessarily massive profit margins . Why not give it to companies and workers putting out the same product without trying to fuck you and the american working class
@@Dru_Won And a lot of people always pull up the slave labor point, despite a lot of sellers being super transparent with their conditions and treatment, to a scary level I don't purchase reps, Not anymore atleast but I'm all for self expression. I think if you pick and sort though quality and ethical sellers you should pull the trigger if youd really want.
Dru Won “hard earned money” spent on clothing that is illegal to sell....LMAO! Makes zero sense to purchase reps (unless you’re a scammer). It’s better to buy items that retain their value, like a real box logo, so you DONT LOSE money. It’s better to buy stuff that APPRECIATES in value, so your purchases make money over time. Buying reps just burns a hole in your pocket!
@@Americansikkunt lmao you sound like a little kid who flexes bogos. if you really like the piece for how it looks it doesn't matter if its a rep or the real thing they look the same. insecure little boy who's scared he cant flex because someone has a 1:1 rep of the same piece
Damn! Remember watching Dunksrnice Jordan 1 85 collection years ago! To think how crazy the metallic prices were then and how bad they’ve gotten now...
Great video keezy .i honestly hate the whole idea on trends and I wish people will be more self expressive and not buy stuff cause it’s popular .the people you look up to has to find their own path .just my thoughts .spread peace and love pls ✊🏿💜✨🦋
It's funny that vintage made it's way back around already. I remember vintage was hype for a bit when I was in high school. From about snapbacks until the galaxy foams. The galaxy foams changed everything, plus the supreme hype was starting because of Tyler the creator
I think the vintage look really became popular because you express yourself in different ways to different eras. Specially band tees and denim, painter denim is definitely not for me or everyone but you can diy it yourself with a pair of vintage denim and a can of paint would make it one of a kind to your preferences
Damn Keezy, glad you posted a new video. Always enjoy your content. Gotta add, my pops was a carpenter, so he was flexing the paint splatter denim and tee before anyone.
Cool UA-cam I like how you’re keeping that 2006 bapetalk style into 2020. As far as carhartt if I was you I would into carhartt work in progress. Wip is the more fashionable and better quality version of regular carhartt it’s a little more expensive than regular carhartt but totally worth it. To me the culture and style of work in progress it’s kinda right now like supreme mature cooler older brother.
Trousers are just the British variation of pants in dialouge, although the connotation of the word in the US always appeared as an upscaled version of a pant or a formal pants. Interesting that thats a "trend" these days.
currently binging your content because I like your perspective on these topics but bro tag these creators you're adding for your troll. the creator and the videographer put an immense amount of time making these
To yellow the midsoles of Jordan 1s, Dunks, etc there are a couple methods - Rubbing with turmeric (color isn’t the most accurate tho) - Angelus paint (mix champagne and white [not too durable tho]) - Staining with ink - Staining with ivory candle wax dye
johnthekidd i personally fw worn in kicks cuz it jus gives the shoe more character. Every kick is pretty much the same when it comes from the factory but only once u start to wear em in that they become unique. It’s similar to denim and how people prefer distressed denim especially when the veining is a reflection of the way your body moves in the jeans it jus brings u closer to the article of clothing or in this case the shoe
You kinda touched on it but I think diy is really becoming more prevalent. Lot of customs and even some cut and sew. Tik Tok is showing basic girls how to make bleach tie dye etc
The trouser comment was quite funny but jokes aside you should try different cuts of the dickies. I bought the slim just to change it up from my edwins.
I think it’s a huge contradiction saying that it sucks for people like Dunksrnice that original Jordan 1’s are going up in price and it’s getting too expensive and then 2 minutes later saying that it’s cool that it is happening to dunks and it’s «dope for those who collect», how is it dope it has become nearly impossible to buy even GR dunks for retail? Older dunks aswell, which were very affordable a few years ago, are mostly all bought up by resellers shooting up prices making it even harder for collectors to complete/add to their collections. Another contradiction is saying it gives more opportunities since «before that there was nothing being released» and then two seconds later saying «afaik, I never bought into dunks», dunk collectors had it better when they could pick up fire releases/older pairs without having to deal with the hypetrain. Good video, though!
*dope video but kylie honestly had no effect on the dunks revival, it was honestly a good portion of travis because if u loo thru his ig u see him wearing old dunks and thats when people started boosting freddy and paris prices, virgin abloh had the least effect*
Damn man I’ve been wearing and collecting Dunks since 2008ish, I remember it being sooooo dead I took three pairs of Heat to sneakerCon and no one even cared lol. Now I got kids including my younger cousins hitting me up trying to buy lol.
I stand by reps. I got no issue buying retail if it’s worth it. 85 Chicago’s are worth it to me. But something like a balenciaga sock boi isn’t worth a rack to me🤷♂️.
What can stop the rep games is basically supply and demand if these companies would stop with the exclusivity and just produce more pairs then that put a slight halt to the rep game but that will never happen
