    The amount of stab wounds and then she had her throat cut. That leads me to believe that this was done by someone who knew her and it was out of anger.

    • @ambermullenax9813

      I thought the same thing. It was definitely someone who knew her... I thought the overkill was to ensure she was dead. If she dead, she cannot tell the police who attacked her. Anger could definitely be another motive. It is obvious they were not happy with her for whatever reason. Her death was beyond brutal. :(

      Both stabbing and slitting someone’s throat are very personal ways of killing someone, so I 100% agree. Right from the start I assumed it must be someone she know. I also agree with the anger, such violent actions...17 stabbings and only one of them being fatal? The person must of been angry, whether it was actually because of her or not

      I 100% agree. I also think that since only one of the wounds was fatal that this was someone that hasn't done this before. Also, with how intense it was I don't think it was police.

      Possible. But the next thought would be...how did they know she would be walking on that street at that particular time? Especially if it wasn’t her usual route.

      I had the same thought. I’ve done this before when I feel like someone is following me, it’s nerve wracking but I will try to take a different way around to my house especially if the longer way is more open. It is strange since she had the police on the first floor, but who knows, maybe in her experience the police weren’t helpful. They certainly weren’t very helpful in her case.

    I find the focus on the word “someone” to be a little ridiculous. She probably just said “someone” to her friend because her friend didn’t know the person, but she herself did. If I have a friend named Courtney and a friend named josh, but Courtney and josh don’t know each other, I wouldn’t refer to josh by name if I was telling Courtney I had to pick books up from him. It would be a detail that would be weird for Courtney because it would mean nothing to her.

    I agree that when she mentioned “someone” it could just mean that her friend probably wouldn’t know who that person is therefore making it irrelevant to have to mention the name. But also, why is no one pointing out the fact that there are two different modes of possible transportation for the killer. If Susanne was indeed picked up by someone and driven to the scene of the crime, and the car that was parked next to her body, why would the killer run away from the scene as opposed to drive away from the scene, unless there was more than one killer????

      That's exactly what I was thinking. Usually you can tell when a person is stabbed by either one or more people due to the differences in height, weight and build; how deep the wounds are or if the person is right or left handed. But of course we can't know cause the police did a terrible job and hadn't released a lot of info. I really believe the theory of two people or that at least one person killed her and the other is an accessory to murder. I also think the police was covering for someone.

    I believe she knew her killer. I think after dropping off the keys she was walking on route to pick up the books and maybe popped to the store to buy a drink (which explains why she had the drink). Then maybe she seen someone she knew within the store who offered to give her a ride. Maybe someone who was obsessive over her or she had recently rejected. I don't think the person she lent the books too is the one who murdered her. She may of referred to them as someone as it may of been a classmate of hers yet her friend she was emailing may have no idea who this classmate is so she just called them someone. I don't know it's strange that they didn't look at cctv footage of the store where she had bought the drink from and didn't address it until 3 years later. Maybe not someone directly off the police force but maybe a child or family member of theirs who was guilty and they tried to cover it up? Such a sad case without any justice x

    • @jacquelineaguilar4191
      @jacquelineaguilar4191 6 років тому +10

      Yes!!! I think the murder could have been a student that came from a wealthy family, maybe their family was an important donor to the college? Or a friend/family of the police force like you said. I definitely think that this person's family held some power in the community which is why the police broke their backs to keep the murder in the clear.

    • @grace-yr7ub

      I believe that there has been suspicion that she did not buy the Fresca herself since she was not seen carrying it when Stein and the woman who saw her walking on College saw her. There has been a thought that the killer (who she knew) purchased it for her before they met up since he knew she liked Fresca. Too bad the police did not check with Krauser's (sp?) to see if anyone recalled selling Fresca etc.

      I can think of three reasons.
      1) Maybe there was no 'Someone', Suzanne wanted the books for some time longer. Little did she know this white lie might turn into a wild goose chase.
      2) Maybe the police didn't release this information in time. As they didn't even translate that email for almost an year. By that time the 'Someone' would have seen how the police ruined the professor's life and didn't come forward because of the fear that he might become cop's next target.
      3) "Someone" is gulty!

  • @sosobabyy
    @sosobabyy 6 років тому +1067

    I think “Billy” committed the crime! There are far too many coincidences to just ignore- he was a Yale student, he spoke German, the green jacket (very specific description of clothing to just fabricate), the class that involved knives, his roommate’s statement (someone that spends a good deal of time with him, should be credible!), the transferring of assets, his history with women, his obsession with the case (why?), the likely mental illness. I know Bella laid all these out for us but if you count them up that’s 9 “coincidences”! You can even throw in the fact that he committed suicide, out of guilt possibly?! Makes sense to me! Poor Suzanne, I’m sad that her family never received closure and shame on New Haven PD!

    • @DanniTrades
      @DanniTrades 6 років тому +147

      He probably knew who did it. She was killed by someone that was driving who was also a Yale student, if it was Billy, he was running not driving so he probably saw something, hence his obsession with the case and mental illness. The police did a terrible job.

    • @katevdm4097
      @katevdm4097 5 років тому +47

      I think Billy did it too, I think to Suzanne, he was just an acquaintance, maybe even the one who borrowed the books, but she was nice to him so in his mind, he thought it was more and was angry she turned him down. Or maybe she DID have a bit of a romantic thing starting with him, he was the "someone" who borrowed the books hence why she tried to distance herself by not saying "a friend" in her email, but broke things off and he lost it. With 17 stab wounds, I do think it was someone angry with her. If it was less than 10, I would believe it could be a stranger/random.

Could also explain why he felt like someone was after him, ie the killer. Also, was it ever looked into that maybe it was someone from the best buddies program?? I definitely feel like it had to be someone who knew her not only because most murders happen by someone who knows the victim, but also because of how many times she was stabbed it seems like a crime of passion more than just a random killing.I wish there was more info about the other volunteers she worked with or the people in the program. Haha i think its ridiculous that you find random theories ridiculous. I mean the whole point of discussing theories is to whittle down what isnt that likely and then of course what is. Factly speaking the Bushes were familiar, some would say friendly with Osama and it just so happens Yale is almost synonymous with the Bushes, at least to Americans. I dont think Al Qaeda would need to have anything to do with it in this regard. Where is her thesis and what does it say? Does it mention their familiarity by chance, some dealings, plans? Until we know that you can not logically dismiss any theory pertaining to it if you wish to act as an actual investigator. Now, i am not saying that the bushes had anything to do with this specific incident but truthfully you can not say they didnt. I find it preposterous that people are so easily thrown off a trail or the searching for one simply because some theory sounds outlandish. Conspiracies often are. And if your scope of understanding is already skewed about 911 which seems to be the case that hurts your ability to be unbiased. If they did have something to do with it then yes it could be said she was an early victim of 911 which was an inside job with the help of some outside folks. You should probably look into all they achieved with this event. Nothing good for humanity. Start with the "patriot act" and a 20 year war where our men and women have been babysitting poppy seed fields in Afghanistan. Nothing is as it seems to the normies.

I could see myself taking Elm st back to park because it's surrounded by yale buildings and as soon as you hit broadway, it's like an outdoor shopping plaza so there is consistent traffic. If she were to take Chapel street back, it can get a little dark and at that time of night.

In that case, someone doesn't mean she wasn't really acquainted with that person but rather that she concealed the identity from the friend she was writing to. Do I make sense here?

    I'm not sure about this "Picking the books up from someone" is really that strange. I'm german and saying that you have to pick up something from someone doesn't sound that unusual to me.
    I often say sentences like that if I refer to a person that the other person doesn't know. Sure you can also say friend or acquaintance but saying "Jemand" (which I assume is the word she used) isn't that unusual at all. Especially since you don't refer to someone as a friend that easily in german.
    Anyway you basically say the same thing at the end. I personally think that the amount of brutality means that it must've been someone that she knew or that was in love with her and she maybe wasn't.

    I don't necessarily have a set theory but I do have some significant questions regarding those books.... personally I think it's strange no one has ever come forward saying they were the one that had borrowed the books. I feel like she was walking out of her way because she needed to pick those books up. She had already told her friend the access code to her building and said she'd leave them in the entryway therefore she would need to retrieve the books as soon as possible. So... what WERE the books?? Were they from a specific class?? Since her friend was coming to borrow them they must know what books these are... they should test the DNA from every student taking whatever class those books came from. Even tho it's been such a long time I think this case could be solved if the right investigator gets ahold of it.

      The books were reportedly GRE study materials and a CD to help study for the GRE exam. Early on I believe the investigators approached the GRE people in an attempt to get a list of those who took or were signed up to take the GRE around the time of the murder but the GRE people refused to release the info based upon privacy concerns. I wonder if they can try again......this time with a subpoena (assuming the records still exist).

    The person she lent her books to could have been a classmate. Did the police ever ask the friend what books she was needing from Suzanne? If they were textbooks for a specific class at Yale, why weren’t her classmates questioned? Was she in any extracurriculars with people she shared a major with at Yale? Referring to this person as “someone” off-hand could mean she was simply familiar with then from one of her classes, which was why she was comfortable lending books to them. It is very interesting and obviously suspicious that this person never returned the books and never cleared their own name, assuming they are innocent.

    • @Treebard
      @Treebard 5 років тому

      Yes it is suspicious. The books were known to be GRE study materials, so they could have been lent pretty much to anyone who was studying for the GRE (a general exam required to get into most graduate programs in the U.S.). The person she lent them to has never come forward, which as you say is suspicious in itself.

    • @Lopfff

      Yeah, what happened with this lead? Seems like an excellent direction to have pursued in an investigation. I can't imagine any safer place to be. Sure, she wouldn't have wanted the creep to know where she lived...but if she went to the police station, the creep would have had no way to know she also lived there. If she was freaked out by somebody following her, avoiding a police station is the last thing she would have done, regardless of where she lived. "There's a creep following me. I could either go straight to police headquarters, or on the other hand I could go in the opposite direction of the police, at night, alone, with a creep following me." Doesn't make sense.

In other words, "i gotta pick them up from joe" that friend may not have any clue who she was talking about, hence her referencing them as someone. In addition, Maybe she took the long way back to her apartment so she didn't have to run into the group of people that she seen on the way there, just not wanting to socialize. Just a thought.

      C K “only 1.5M”... she’s amazing but a million people following her is already insane

      R Sparks very true!! What I’m trying to say is there’s so many overrated UA-camrs that have millions of subs and it just shocks me cause Bella is so much better than them but she’s so underrated and it just sucks that she doesn’t have more subs, more people need to watch her!! I’ve met her in person and she’s truely amazing

    I don’t think it’s weird to call them “someone”, it may have just meant that the person she was talking to didn’t know the person.

      A police vehicle is really noticable though. I agree that the police is really suspicious in this case.

    nahh u missed the part where the prof constantly told his classes that he could commit the perfect murder and then moved to chicago and posted an eerie letter in the newspaper basically saying he got away with it

    I’ve been living in New Haven my entire life and I’ve never heard of this case until now. I was only 5 when it happened but I do know that some of these streets around the Yale campus can be dark and sketchy.

    I have social anxiety....... and I’ve made up reasons to ditch people I actually care about because of that anxiety. So maybe she made up the book pick-up just to avoid meeting up with an actual friend. If that makes any sense???

    Isn't there a possibility, that she took the longer route home because she was afraid or didn't want to meet the classmate - Peter again? Maybe their conversation was weird before or something, so she wanted to avoid him. I can definitely see myself taking a long way home only to get around some of my classmates :).
