Thanks so much. I took my car to Mercedes Dealership and they acted like they never seen this before and wanted $528 to replace unit. I bought the broken part for $29 and replaced it in about 1 and half hours thanks to your video.
I'm late to the party here for sure, but one tip to add for those that arrive here after me. The plate that he is trying to remove at the 1:37 mark is easier to take out if you remove the armrest opener pad. At the back of the pad is a slot, use a flat head screwdriver in that slot and pry down while pulling the pad forward. The pad will slide right off and then you can better access the screws and remove that plate.
Good cameraman you have there. I had mine replaced years ago under warranty on my e350. How long do these usually last? My dealer, also, acted like this never happens.....
What fix is this? The pulressing down function of the turning the knob? Mine can still hit and turning like zooming in and out from navigation is broken.
Thank you so much for uploading the video, have been lookikg for it everywhere but couldnt find the exact fault video. Have a W204 with the same issue, can you please let me know where can i get the NEW PART from? Thank you!
Thanks for sharing a great video. Do you know what is mechanism on the buttons next to the knob? My back button does not want to spring back once depressed. I am trying to get an idea if it is spring loaded etc on the top cover side? I kinda see it @ 4:57 but cannot tell much.
Hola, tengo un 2010 E-550 con ese mismo problema vivo en Houston, TX. si yo saco el comando te lo puedo enviar y tú me lo reparas? Y cuánto cobrarías?? Gracias
Thanks I appreciate the offer but I don't live in the US so shipping isn't cheap, you should be able to find someone in TX to fix for less than what it would cost to ship to me.
i guess so many people wanna watch that part and it is damage like an old tape lol joke haha but the problem is i cant move on from there 😕 it is really hard to remove the outer ring
@@MrSEIKOALBA It does feel like and old broken tape 😅. I think mine was really hard to take off too, took me a while prying. Just keep pushing down the button in the middle while prying around the ring with the trim tool
I can't give a definite answer since I've only worked on my car and have no knowledge of other Mercedes models. That said, I would guess yes it should be the same process if the console controller unit looks the same since the E300 and E350 are the same car but different engines. Also according to the Amazon seller that I bought the part from they list all these cars that the part fits: C-Class (W204 / S204 / C204) 2008 - 2015 E-Class (W212 / V212) 2010 - 2016 CLS (W218 / X218) 2011 - 2017 SLK (R172) 2012 - 2017 SLS (C197 / R197) 2010 - 2015 GLK (X204) 2010-2016
Some panels could be really hard to remove the first time especially if the car is old. It takes patience and be carful not to go too hard and brake the plastics.

Thanks! Don't know how long the factory plastic one would last but seems like they all fail eventually from all the videos and views out there.
