The Anytone BT01 is a nice addon to your Anytone 578UV III Plus. Comment below if you have one of these handsets and tell us your thoughts. Do you it a substitute for a removeable faceplace or not?
Thank you for the video Steve. Am considering buying the BT-01. I wonder if the BT-01 will work with my 578 UV? I have to research it. Enjoyed your video and your easy style and presentation. Well done. My only suggestion is to please turn off the "beep" or lower the volume on the radio. My pet peeve- I find the beeps annoying and distracting. Just a thought. Again, well done and all the best!
I finally figured it out. My BT01 worked first time with my 578viii plus once I had the 578 fully updated. I mean everything, firmware, APRS/BT board, Bluetooth firmware and SCT update. The BT01 does have the capabilities to be updated in the future using a USB cable but no updates are out there yet. There are some bugs. APRS might get locked into transmit. Anytone knows about this and working a 578 firmware fix. I had an experience with scanning aircraft programed by me channels. While it was scanning I lost D.C. power to the radio. (I turned off the power supply) When I turned power back on I had a message on the screen telling me I needed to do a initialization and to press CONFIRM. None of the buttons worked except for the CONFIRM button. Pressing returned the radio to just like out of the box. I had to set time/date and then load my codepluge back in. The problem happened once again same thing, had to reload the codeplug. The problem once again but this time I was just listening to a DMR channel. When I restored power it booted up fine. I told Anytone about the bug. With the previous firmware I did not notice these problems.
The BT01 pairs with the D578UViii radio just fine, but then the BT01 display goes black, and the display on the radio just shows the radio is connected to an external device. I can't find documentation on how to unlock the BT01 so it displays the radio's information. Also, the little documentation I did find says the BT01's firmware needs to be updated. The info says I need to use an Android smartphone or tablet in addition to a PC. I don't own Android devices. Any tips on what to do about this? Looking for guidance.
Thank you, it helped me trough first steps, although I'm still a bit confused by the difference between, e.g., "Long Key1 P1" and "Long Key2 P1", can you please clarify how they are different when operating on the BT-01 ? ( basically what are Key1 and Key2 ?) Tnx and '73 de I3APR Andy
These are programming keys that you can program for different functions. They can be programmed to your liking. Does that answer your question? Let me know.
I have one of these mics that will not connect to my 578 with a cable. I used the cable that came with the mic. Also tried another CAT5 cable. Gets stuck at All Data Checking. Have let it sit in this mode for nearly an hour with no luck. Any ideas as to what could be causing this? Thanks in advance for any help.
is there a way that you have found to have VFO A and B have seperate audio levels? I like to have B lower than A so it doesn’t step on what I’m hearing on A.
replacing my BT mic because I'm not sure what is going on with the first one I got. Any idea what I need to do to replace it? Remove the first mic from the radio in some way? Thinking like we do when we get rid of a BT headset for our phones

It depends on the FW version of the radio.
Would like to see a video separating the updates needed to the BT01 and the 578. There seems to be some confusion.
I'll put this on my "to do" list. Thanks.

Not sure. Check with whoever your purchased your device from.

Check to see you have the latest radio firmware installed.
I want your codeplug. My mother lives in Gulf Breeze.

No, I haven't, sorry.

You should just replace it and the new BT will work once it's setup.
I can’t get the update to the BT01 to work
You may need to contact the vendor you purchased your BT101 from. Do you have the latest firmware in your 578 as well?
Has anyone tried to use a DigiRig or Mobilinkd TNC with the K1 connector to do packet?
Good question. I haven't.
BT remote makes radio crash. no good! total garbage!
