The introduction to the Phantom of the Opera... that's what I love Dickinson for! He doesn't just sing, he's a great story teller and suspense creator.
I remember back in the 80s this band toured their asses off. They worked tirelessly without any radio play. The artwork made you notice and peeked your interest, so you bought the record and never looked back. Probably the hardest working band that i can remember.
So many years later and they are still performing better than bands half their age. Excellent concert! Terrible crowd.

I can partly agree...on Thursday the Crowd was great, even in the B-Zone...but next days, the crowd was so boring...they looked at us like little motherfuckers as we wanted to start a mosh pit at Metallica's concert

im greek and i went to last rock in rio in rio de janeiro, it was 40°c same 10 hours and the brazilian crowd was jumping and singing all songs, so germany crowd sucks!!! and south american audience rocks!!! i never see it before in european concerts

Well, despite the traditional trademark "Rock am Ring" this festival has become more like a pop/mainstream festival, especially in the last years. You still get a few good rock and metal bands there, but the lineup is mixed with many pop/electro/hiphop acts. So basically what you see there is a mainstream audience with many people who are not attending the festival to see bands like Maiden, with some who may not even know who Iron Maiden are. If would you go to real metal festivals like Party San, With Full Force, Headbangers Open Air, Summerbreeze or Wacken, you could see that great German crowds exist as well. But I agree South American crowds are the best, these guys are just crazy.

Great share. Excellent sound on Revelations throughout. It gets better the longer you watch. Just like the love of listening to Iron Maiden over the course of your life. I've seen them several times since the Powerslave tour with Twisted Sister as the opener. Bruce has held his own taking care of himself over the years really well. I salute all Iron Maiden fans wherever you may be. You know your metal! I'm in the US and we couldn't have a show this large for a metal band. Our people have horrible taste in music here. Our DJs feed them feces and they learn to love the taste of it. Thanks so much for sharing this! Excellent show!

Rene Garcia I hate Kiss. Always have! Something about them just rubbed me the wrong way or something. I grew up listening to Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Aerosmith, and the hard rock bands of the 70's and 80's. I saw Megadeth in December in Bethlehem, PA and they didn't quite sell-out the casino arena at full capacity. Saw Yngwie Malmsteen 3 weeks ago and it was about the same thing - weak crowd showing in a small theater. It sucks watching the US try and produce more metal bands yet fail to support them as South America and Europe do. Long live the metal!

Iron Maiden remain a dominant force even after all these decades. There are a few symphonic metal bands out there who may match them on complexity (you know who you are), but for basic heavy metal, Iron Maiden has no rivals in quality of music or in longevity. This will forever be the Gold Standard against which all rock and metal is measured.
I saw Maiden more than ten times, but it's weird to see them in daylight. Never feared the dark! Still a fantastic concert! Thanks for sharing, Herr von Bödenfeld!
I was supposed to see them again last year. Will be back in 2021 after two Waisted Years! Really can't wait. Their last show with the flying Hammersmith intro was one of the best rock shows ever that I saw!

I don't know if that's a joke or not..... but it kind of feels like Iron Maiden except the tape has been stretched. Every song seems to be at 0.5 speed.
That´s why because of Cro has played after the gig of Iron Maiden. (This was a secret gig. But nevertheless the message has spread days bevore).
So all the Cro fans were awaiting him. And how obvious? all the Cro fans don´t liked Metal. And this was a big clash of cultures. All the metalheads, celebrating Iron Maiden, were to wild for the Cro fans. Otherwise the Cro fans decrease the mood of the Maiden fans.

Yes everybody, we know, the crowd was shit. I was there because of Maiden and I went nuts along with a dozen other Maiden fans around me, but what are you gonna do when a 40 year old metal band plays a mainstream festival where at least 50% of the people are only there because of the festival itself and not because of the bands? No, it's not the "German" crowd, it's the crowd of this specific festival, because it's not a metal festival.

When Iron Maiden played Wacken in 2008 the crowd was insane. 2010 and 2016 not so much.

I've never understood this fetish for paying to go and see a band and then not actually seeing it because you have some device held in front of your face or you're too busy stagediving. Spoils it for the rest of us too - which is probably just you and I now godfather! That's the best reason for being in the front row too, no idiots in front of you, just the clowns crowd-surfing over your head - and prime candidates for having their testicles squeezed for their inconsideration.

Adrian forgetting how to play the song has to be false, the guy is one of the best guitarists out there, he could easily re-learn it in half an hour. I think that response is just them joking around since they get asked all the time about why they don't play it live.

These guys look like they've just started and they're done this for nearly 40 years. Of course most bands don't have the privilege to hand pick their shows but still.

7 th son of a 7 th son is a masterpiece album.. It really is.. I think it's one of their albums more in the shadows that should have more light on it.
Them opening with Moon child hits it hard. I haven't heard that one in a while
The rest of the band is holding notes, but freakin' Steve is smokin' that bass through the whole damn thing.

One of my favourite concert!!! i love this set list.. there are some songs that i love too much!!! i've been very beautiful to see the concert in Italy in that tour (my first concert of Iron Maiden)... UP THE IRONS!!
