    Actually there is a cross border train service between Malaysia and Singapore, it's called Shuttle Tebrau, resumed their service at June 19, 2022 since they suspended their service during pandemic, available every 30 minutes at the Johor Bahru train station or border crossing you visited in the video, I wonder why you didn't take that train?

      Actually didn’t see that… does it do the same stop at immigration?

      @@allanwilson Yes, they stop at the same station and the same building. You can watch this video on how to take the train: ua-cam.com/video/ADIr6Na6Vmo/v-deo.html

      Pretty much. Malaysia has implemented electric trains (ETS) which cover the major inter city destinations. Unfortunately it doesn’t yet travel the length of the country tho hence the stopover/change to diesel trains at Gemas when travelling south from Kuala Lumpur. At one time the train from Bangkok would continue right through ending at Butterworth but this has unfortunately changed with the new electric rails. I’m not quite certain how many hours it would take from Padang Besar to Johor Bahru but an overnight train maybe likely. I split it up here with stops at both Butterworth and KL along the way.

      @@allanwilson ..yes from gemas to Spore you have to changed as the continuation of this electric train still on the way & maybe will be ready by next year.....

      @@allanwilson it will soon. The ECRL from Kelantan to port Klang will be completed in 2027. The gov trying to build HSR to singapore hence the Gemas JB line delayed to wait for how it will turn out with the hsr.

      @@namazlur78 About the Gemas-JB part, your infomation is a bit incorrect, the Electrified Double Tracking Project (EDTP) of KTM line between Gemas and Johor Bahru had started construction since 2018 and is expected to complete in 2023 or 2024, it did not get delayed due to HSR except the delay caused by pandemic lockdown. The HSR however has not official confirmed yet, just both side show the "intention" to build it and said they are "studying" it.

    How fast are the high speed electric train sets to Kuala Lumpur?

    • @allanwilson
      @allanwilson  2 роки тому +2

      Think the ETS go up to 140 km but it normally sits around the 120 - 130 from what I remember

      You have to buy at the station I’m afraid. It’s a 3rd class Thai train and tbh with Thai trains they can be a bit unreliable.
