This is even better holder for miniature painting
Which did you have in mind for minis; spherical, hand, or both?
@@pspadotto all of them, but the hand held is my preference since it have pedestal with anti slip and quite tall to use on desk
I would love to see you do more pilot figures. You make them look so nice 🤩
Thank you for the review. The Omnidirectional was something I heard of but put aside. I like that the wrench is not attached for easier access.
*First time painting flesh tones*
Does it amazingly, pretty much perfect.
THERE'S A GUNDAM DOWN HERE!
Actually, I would love to see like a whole 1-hour long video of IAG just rambling on about Gundam lore.
Think about it.
- There's literally years of content worth talking about the Gundam universes.
- Minimal editing.
- IAG get's to nerd out on something he likes and has a passion for.
- And it's honest content worthy for being on UA-cam without violating any BS guidelines, least I would hope.
Please consider it IAG!
Engagement comment for the algorithm god.
See I want to get in to gunpla but my six year old believes all robots are his😅
Have a painting session. Give him a thrift store Transformer or something from the dollar store. Tell him he can paint his any color while you build yours.
Buy him an entry grade strike or nugundam and build with him, I did with my youngest and was a fun (frustrating at times😅) experience 👍
I second the painting session idea but get him one of the cheeper chibbi gundam figures and get him to help get it off the sprue and build through to paint. That's what I did with my lad and he loved it.
Relieved to hear the spherical vise is treating you well. Mine should arrive tomorrow and I was honestly not sure what to expect lol
❤ tht figure looking gorgeous papa.
I’m getting into sd Gundam kits and have been enjoying it alongside drawing
woooot another one
What's up Gundam, been a sub. to both channels for a while now, anyway I'm also a Toolmaker or maybe more commonly known, a Machinist who specializes in manual machining i.e. prototyping and R&D instead of mass production (CNC) although I can do both. While I'm sure the hardware like screws and dowel pins are steel or stainless steel the jaws and main body appears to be aluminum and red anodized aluminum but maybe I'm wrong. No matter the reason for the comment is if you ever need or think up some specialized jaws for either vise or any special tools you've thought damn I wish someone made this, let me know and I'll make it for you, who knows maybe we can collaborate on the hot new hobby tool or something. Seriously, I got a machine/fabrication shop at the house and hoping to be my own boss some day so let me know
With the tiny size pilots, I use a small amount of double sided tape and mount them to a base for a games workshop mini and then use the base to lock in place with my hand vice. That way I can get to the lower legs and feet better. Might be worth a try.
Awesome review, thank you, was easy to purchase after seeing it used in practice, what a game changer ✌️🥳
Once I get the funds, I may try this for Warhammer 40K figures.
I use an empty bottle of paint like gaia notes with some poster tac ontop for Warhammer and dnd figures the cap spins so you can spin the model around without having to move your hand position as for shaky hands if you use a chair with arm rests I put my elbow on the armrest and then my forearms on the table to make my hands as steady as possible
I, like you, bought both. They are both nice and like you, I agree, they should have done more with the allen wrench. Like really? It could technically smash someones face in so Ill let it slide lol
02:24 That really is a missed opportunity, something like a hand crank wheel would allow you to easily and quickly do the large adjustments with a single finger and no risk of slipping while also allowing very precise adjustments by either grabbing the handle or by holding the entire wheel and slowly turning. Luckily that could be solved with 3D printing as the rest of the product seems very good.
Ah an ms 08th team fan
I know nothing about model painting, but all my friends are heavy into Warhammer. I might get my buddy one of these for their birthday.
Huh, Neat.
😄👍
THAT was your first time painting fleshtones? My dude, I knew you have skills but goddamn that's impressive.
These are cool, people in jewelry making and engraving have yse these for years that it’s become a staple for these particular craftsmen. If you’re into panel lines, you should take a look at the Darth Vader hobo nickels.
But I’m glad to see jewelry tools finding their way to model makers hands. Don’t exclude watchmakers tools, also. They too are small enough to be utilized in model/gunpla hobbies.
DSPAIE is making waves pretty quick in the hobby, some are hits and some are meh. I got the DSPAIE Siren, which was decent, as I didn't have to keep using different grits of sandpaper for cleanly removing nubs and nub marks. However, I had to clean it after EVERY SINGLE PART I used it on or it was basically just rubbing glass against my plastic, basically doing nothing. Seems like a minor gripe, but it's also a little tough to clean too. Ended up grabbing the Gunprimer Raser and I keep building away at a steady pace without really having to clean it till I'm done. There's some other stuff they have I'd try out because it's cheaper than the competition, I just hope it can compete in performance.
wait, you are crying that you need to clean your tools ? do you not clean your clothes ? appartment? dishes ?
clean your tools. dont be dirty,
I’m thinking of investing in this for my cyberpunk red figures I need to paint
I was just watching one of your videos and was wondering what this was and where you got it now I've got this video with a link excellent thank you so much Papa Gundam
#itsagunpla
U forgot the most important pro. WIP pics with the vice always gets u 999 likes on social media
I prefer the allen wrench, those are easy to replace because i have a drawer full of them.
I hope youre sponsored for this, but you should know these are just variations of what is commonly known as a "jewellers vice".
Aren’t these just repackaged jeweler’s vises? Do these come with anything specialized for plastic kits?
Maybe not everyone knows about jeweler's vices (I sure didn't 😅.) Are they cheaper?
@@phoebea They can be, but at least they come with a whole suite of other ways to clamp whatever you're working on.
Mr. Gundam the Jacques Cousteau of plastic Crack. Here's my comment for the algorithm my best regards.
I hope u can the question
For At-HV hand held (the longer, taller one)
How many rubber pieces it comes with and can it hold heavier objects (let's say top half of gundam mg) well?
Gundam, here me out... pick the coolest figure that catches your eye from GW. 40k, Age Of Sigmar, Horus Heresy.
I would love to see how you like the kits, and the end result.
Nice. Some unintentional asmr
His gunpla and failbox videos are excellent asmr
What about something to hold smaller pieces such as the very tip of the RX-78-2's beam rifle or vernier thrusters while sanding down left over nubs?
Do the pins hold when you put ROUND base firly grip them? I tried a similar one from Greenstuff world and it is a POS.
cool
What camera are you using?
Hello as someone who's trying to get into Gundam I just wanted to know if it would be best if I watched the anime in Order of Release or in Chronological order (any suggestions are appreciateted)
Start out with an A.U. series like Gundam 00.
@@Kenny_F91 thank you very much
Is the hand held vise big enough for something like a battletech mini?
Protip for painting eyes on small figures. Don't paint them white with black pupils. If its really small like a 1/100 or 1/144 figure then don't try and paint the eyes at all, just do a wash over the face. Suggest the eyes instead and the person looking at them will have their brain fill in the blanks. If you paint them white it stands out too much and looks silly at that scale.
Range
Just a friendly reminder that painting little robots is now misogynistic because you could be using this time and money to support Woman King instead.
You misunderstand, he does this FOR the women
@@ann3thrax Oh, my mistake. Papa Gundam is a true Ally.
@@ann3thrax Yup, can confirm.
Im sorry, as a gunpla hobbiest for over a decade and half who is slowly shifting over to doing more miniature painting, this is HUGE waste of money! Im rolling dying of laughter over here lol. Between making your own holders, to even getting a cheap reliable one from whatever miniature model company that makes these, there's better options.
I those mini painter wood blocks with a metal rod in them, can't say i jived with it. My minis kept falling off.
@@ItsAGunpla Those require lots of experimentation of materials. Iv tried and ultimately went for holders from other companies. Redgrass Games makes an excellent 360 swivel one that is comfortable even for people with shaky hands, been using that since I started the hobby couple years ago. I just bought a new one from Game Envy a week ago and Im adjusting to how it operates but defintely see the advantages of it. The whole vice system seems over the top and unnecessary for tiny figures as far as the hand one goes. It works very well from your vid I just dont see the need to pay over $50 for something I can pay a fifth of that price. The sphere one I see the advantages of for larger models and resin. That price tag though would scare people off though haha
