In my opinion, 1/45 scale (based on the height) leads to more accurate looking vehicles and better for mocs whereas 1/35 (based on width) is best for playability or interiors.
This is exactly why I follow 1/40 scale, unless it’s something that can reasonably be smaller or bigger and look good, like a snowspeeder or a y wing, as well as the ability to do some fudging for big stuff like lambda shuttles.
I'd say it's more accurate to call it the live-action gunship rather than just an the Episode II gunship, because this is the only gunship design to appear in live-action (AOTC, ROTS, Mandalorian, and Ahsoka)
Having your Gunship Collection I don't really feel the need to upgrade, especially since I really like these versions. Your Muunilist version is truly astonishing!
Out of all of the Gunships I’ve seen in Lego, I can say without question, this is the best one out there. I don’t say the lightly either, as a dedicated Lego Afol and Star Wars fan, I’ve seen countless Gunship designs over the years as its one of the most recreated Mocs out there. There are few really good designs out there but in terms of design, proportions, and in universe accuracy, all of the others fall just a little short of this masterpiece. The best thing about this model is that it’s publicly available to build and not just a one off design. BrickValt truly is the best place to get custom Lego Star Wars designs from.
@@mishagoldstein2811 It's a fair opinion, but in several areas, especially the engines I prefer this one. On the other hand, my favorite building technique not present here is RhichboyJhae's doorhandle (recreated with a Lego hammer)
I would love to see a comparison video between all of BrickVault's gunships. I especially want to know more about the pro's and con's of each build. Of course, buying any of them, you can't go wrong.
If I'm being honest, it looks like this design prioritizes as much SNOT as possible over build stability. The handling in this video makes many portions look very fragile.
You were right, this was closer to perfect, I really liked that the cannons of the engines were longer (more accurate) than the past moc models, but if possible I would add maybe an extra piece to make it just a bit longer
Not weird. MOCs are not limited by illegal techniques, price point, development time, stability, and (MOCs like this one) are specifically designed to look photorealistic rather than having the "lego feel". For a MOC of this quality, I do agree that the designer is just as good as the best LEGO designers, but they have different goals and restraints.
@@EL-uj1plthe point of the design is to deploy the most amount of troops as quickly as possible, while being able to maintain firing with the frontal weapons

I’m such a Clone Wars fan but for some reason out of all the clone vehicles the gunship just never did it for me, so many other ones I’m way more a fan of, The dropship is the coolest LAAT class ship 😎
When I saw this in my feed, I was genuinely confused because I didn't know why UA-cam was recommending a video about some Star Wars display model or toy. I genuinely looked at it for a bit until I realized it was Lego.
Where do those first few shots of the gunships (on what looks like Coruscant) come from? Don’t think I’ve ever seen those scenes before and they look really sick. Can’t even tell if they’re live action or animated
It looks very good, but to be honest it looks very flimsy. In this video some of the weaker constructions were clearly seen. But ok, it is a nice and not a playset. As a display set it should do its job
How detailed is the cockpit and overall accuracy compared to Richboy Jhae’s. I can’t decide which model to build. I like this one overall for the proportions and that it’s a bit cheaper than Jhae’s. But I don’t know which one is better

Agreed. Even still, I can't complain about all the cool star wars mocs we've been getting since the Chang of ownership. I think my biggest concern is that they might be so dedicated to pumping out another model that they sacrifice some of the quality. I would love to see more Batman vehicles and especially custom modular buildings.
@@EL-uj1pl I would love to see a star destroyer or starship from the old Republic era. But I can understand that those may be less popular due to the fact that they were in older star wars games.
I legitimately think we wouldn’t be as big fans of this vehicle in Star Wars if it wasn’t for the absolute dedication of MOC builders to come back to this model virtually every year and improve it.
3:55 "Keep in mind there is no such thing as perfect minifigure scale since minifigs are really weirdly proportioned..."
Thank you brickcats, always the logical one.
Although, wouldn't it be interesting to see wider Lego vehicles stylized to match the proportions of a Lego figure?
Speed champions (2019 and later), and the models around the scale of a ucs gunship (ucs x wings, ties, y wing, etc)

Not by a landslide though, dave's own design is amazing too (albeit a bit too thick), and RhichboyJhae's comes very close to this one.

When Tomas build other versions of the republic gunship?
Hands down the most accurate and good looking gunship yet ! By far !
