Thanks to both of you for doing this. Especially to the pilot who took time out of his day, on launch day no less, to get this out.
Always nice to get personal input from a RL pilot.
Thanks Sir Overkill….
This type video is back in your sweet-spot. This is the foundational value that you bring to YT. These step by step tutorials, along with your detailed tutorials are what make you stand apart from others. Thats my .02 anyway. Each youtuber offers something fairly unique to them, and this is what gained my attention to you early on.
Good job.
Just bought this and really impressed with Simworks Studios so far. This video was a great help! Thanks for taking the time
I love in-depth how-to videos for flight sims like this one, and the sedated zombies posing as passengers are a bonus.
Best MSFS tutorials on ytube! Learned so much with the real pilot breaking down the key differences. 🥇🛫👨✈️
This is my new favorite turbo prop now, and the prop animation is like awesome looking from the cockpit view
Thank you both very much for this incredible video. I‘ve learned so much in this short time!
This was super cool!!!! More of this please!!!
great tutorial with all the little real pilot details and trivia. A really fun airplane.
Great flying airplane.Having a blast with it!
This is awesome. Especially the commentary from the pilot. Love to learn WHY they do what the do in real life (Gen1 before Gen 2, for example). GREAT info. Thanks a bunch!
Yes I agree. I'm big on the why too. That the hard part about the guides I make is when I can't find the why
thank you so much really a great video with clear explanation and lots of amazing details points, really very helpful and also a great moment! Thank you also for all your very well done and interesting videos, so much all the time learning things and discover great products and point
Awesome video!! Fantastic you had a real world pilot provide all that valuable information. I think part of the issue with takeoff was the strong cross wind on departure. Using Rudder and Aileron correction would have helped with takeoff.
Good learning oportunity!
Very nice video, please keep going on and make more for other planes. M500, Kodiak, ...😀
This was Awesome Thank You
Thanks for the good intentions. BUT, there is no need to add failures, it is failing already from the start. So much waiting for this?. Very Disappointing!. I will stick with the, not so good, Carenado Pilatus, and hope for the best. At least that one I can take off and land.
I watched MANY real flight videos, and none of the airplanes almost got off the runway on take off or landing
What is the point? Of so many clickable features if it is almost impossible to take off and land decently.
I noticed that giant pull to the right at ~80 kts in the Kodiak as well.
Great learning flight, lots of info. I am experiencing the same take off issues, almost impossible to hold the a/c strait. Good to know about the 80 knots ground / flight mode, really difficult in this plane. I also had difficulties during landing, suspect twitchy rudder control on my side, pffffffff. 😮 Really fun and good aircraft
Hey Harald are you having this issue with other planes as well? My Kodiak 100 and Caravan also don't like staying in a straight line. 😅
@@RaulEdu33 only with the Kodiaq, but not that bad as with the PC-12. Next flight I will set the rudder trim somewhat lower, see if it helps. And that practice, practice and practice 😉
Thinking of joining Tradewind at their SUA base. Already got the licenses. Was a nice insight. Would love to get in touch with the pilot!
I would love to know how to bind the trims... I always end up skating off the runway after touchdown... I just can't figure this out. Any help would be much appreciated. Everything else about this beast is wonderful.
Hello,
Thank you very much for this guide to the PC-12.
Your video is about 4 months old and this addon had a big update on April 17 that corrected some shortcomings.
I'd like to know if you'd have the time and inclination to make a new video or an update with the latest SimWorks patch for the PC-12 with the driver who kindly participated in this video?
Thanks in advance
Olivier
Thanks for explaining ground mode and air mode, here I was thinking it was just me!
Can you do a quick video how I change the different Garmins?
Thanks for the video.
You can't switch between the different panel layouts in game. You have to uninstall and reinstall the aircraft if you want to switch.
I will agree, those lights are bright. A notable Pilatus user, air taxi service, is based at my airport. And at early times in the morning, you can be blinded.
Is it possible to insert Airways in gns from working titel. ?
I hand it to all these real pilots there is so much to learn and remember.
This planes is different especially on approach 😂 I have never played with the rudder trim more
Overkill getting called out for not actually following the checklists. 🤣🤣🤣
Anyone having issues with the autopilot holding altitude? Seems to be over sensitive with the trim
The elusive fuel cutoffs. Overkills unicorn lol.
Haha!! You sit down and be quiet Sir!! Lmfao!!
I think a "turn on the fuel" tattoo is required like the "no ragrets" guy! 🤣🤣🤣
@@greenranger2764 lmao!
At this point I think I’m content with Carenado
How did you get rid of the co-pilot ?
veering off the runway on takeoff and landing seems to be a big issue with that aircraft. however, you see that kind of "effect" on others planes too in the sim.
Question re engine parameters: Looks like during climb torque decreases, ITT increases, is NG behavior modelled accurately for this engine with respect to the NG/ITT when climbing?
Super accurate. I recorded a lot of data for it.
Okay. I'm not familiar with this pt6 version or how much it may be derated and have not flown the PC12. Would have liked to. The landing lights in the rw at a small strip at night looked wonderful. My time is mainly king air. I've got lots of time on the -21,28,34&41 and i recall seeing N1/NG be a limiting factor from time to time as well. Just find it different is all. Seeing the NG & ITT behave properly was refreshing. I'll be buying this. Retired pilot.
@@davewilton3101 NG limit is 104. But we ITT out way before that honestly. 760ITT, TRQ 43.3 takeoff, 36.9 climb,
how did he come up with the torq setting knowing the altitude and OAT?
The performance tables in the back of the manual.
What happemed at 53:00? Did you have a crash to desktop and had to restart? Suddenly the "Endurance" also went from 5:18 to 6:05 after the cut.
No just took a break and of course active pause had to screw us up. This was in reality almost 4 hours lol. We needed dinner haha!
Lol!@@OverkillSimulations
Is there any intention of replicating the checklists into the EFB? Adds to the immersion in VR.
Yes there is
@@OverkillSimulations excellent thanks. Great video BTW 👍
Under autopilot, the planes keeps banking right and less, the trim is lagging by 5-10 seconds....
click the headrest to remove the crew.
I can not get the tablet too to work with this plane
for seem reason I can not turn on my Avionics 1 switch. AV 2 switches on just fine, but the AV pulls ever so slightly out but never pops right back down. Any one else encounter it. Following this tutorial to a T.
I had that issue once and ended up having to restart the sim to fix it. No idea why it happened for that one flight.
How are the FPS? Can you turn the passengers “off”
fps are significantly lower than BS TBM. About on par with Fenix A320 here on my system. 😮 This really needs to be improved.
I'm not able to get the pusher test to work and therefore am unable to clear the "pusher" light on the annunciator panel. I believe I have followed all of the other instructions correctly, but is there anything that would be keeping the pusher test from working? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Flaps 15?
Make sure the pusher interrupt button isn’t stuck in.
@@hostettervideos it isn’t.
@@OverkillSimulations it should be at flaps 15 before I start the pusher test?
@@graysonwilliams4826 yes that is required
There is no such interconnection between the Ailerons and the Rudder in the Real PC-12. The Real PC-12 does have a Yaw Damper that will coordinate your turns with out you have the step on the Rudders but it is switched On in flight and Off during take off's and landing's. In my oppinion this is a great flaw in this modeling.
All I can say is according to not one but two real world PC12 pilots ( and yes that is confirmed ) is DOES exist so I'm not sure what to say my friend.
Toilet failures will be fully simulated in the add-on
Why climb in V/S when you can use IAS mode?
I'm curious about this too. My pilot friends all use IAS, but I don't know anyone that flies the Pilatus PC-12, so I don't know if it's a plane specific reason or what.
@@JC-xz4ec On takeoff IAS mode can cause an inadvertent nose down attitude to adjust the speed.
And it’s like a 15 degree deck angle. Super uncomfortable for passengers. And CPC can’t keep up with
On takeoff especially at night when single pilot( ot with a really green FO) setting even a modest climb should you get distracted for a moment it is less likely you'll drive yourself into the ground. In Canada's north especially in the arctic more than a few strips are almost like carriers as there are few or no other lights around.
Epic video man! Thanks a lot, so interesting! well done, both of you! However, could you maybe please also do a video with a very "quick and dirty" start up procedure? Maybe not correct, but just how to get this bird from cold and dark started up within 3 - 5 minutes.
The most essential steps only. Not every simmer has the time to go through a 30min. startup procedure. Many of us have unfortunatelly very limited time for the hobby. Therefore a "quick and dirty" tutorial would be awesome. Even if it's not the most "correct" way on how to get the plane up and running.
Thanks a lot already
This checklist is actually done pretty quickly once you've gotten comfortable with it. Do it a couple of times and before you know it you're done in a couple of minutes.
My ipad isn't turning on. Any ideas? Very good chance I'm missing something.
Requires electrical power
@@OverkillSimulations i just found the part in the manual that you can select whichever gps unit along with if you want sky4sim, which is the tablet. My bad for not RTFM.
@@thefishingpilot2681 lol happens to us all lol
All airplanes have hell holes no mater the size
Failures are not an option! Hahaha
Wow….there is a lot of things missing from this aircraft. Honestly, once the initial hype is over, especially after such a long wait, we will start to hear and see the review reality of this plane coming out with so many system functionality missing. No wonder it was released for $27. Other than a really good sound-set and model detail, what is it really? In all seriousness? A lot of potential, but thats where it stalls out. This plane, when compared to something like the TBM 850, just cant compete.
1:02:41 yeah, because every plane in MSFS behaves like this! 🙄 no, no they dont. Yet this one does. Just go watch other YT videos at takeoff for this plane, and you will see it pull right during tskeoff over and over again. You will hear pilots, even real world pilots, making audible comments like “what is happening?”. Its something interesting to go research.
Bro….this is what Im talking about. They have a good “start” to this aircraft, but it is still a ways from being right. They can get mad all they want with my posts, as they have done in the past, but they wont grow as a team if they just blame everyone else for issues and attempt to silence the critics. I WANT to like SWS, but after such long delays on the plane one would think it would function appropriately, and with fully operational systems (no, Im not talking about failures), and wouldnt have the long list of bugs upon release due to lack of proper alpha and beta testing.
Yes, but the alleged PC12 pilot who helped with the development says that's how it is and anyone who doesn't know it couldn't fly.
It seems to me as if they at SIMWORKS don't want to admit that they made a mistake
@@mariobader2152 …noticed that about SWS. They absolutely hate criticism, and will not accept responsibility when issues arise. They blame everyone else instead. I have real world flight training as well, although admittedly I would say minimal even though Ive flown out of a small international airport, but other pilots are having the same issue. Even OverKill has had this issue. Its right in the videos. You can hear his verbal response asking about what is happening. It isnt normal. And it cant simply be a MSFS issue as other planes aren’t experiencing the same. Also, when having to correct, you have to input FULL LEFT RUDDER, which is crazy
I think it's a real shame that Simworks doesn't admit they made a mistake, but they certainly wanted to do the right thing by showing us that the transition from ground to flight handling is a bit tricky. But they simply overshot the mark.
Watched you take off (if you can call it that) and made up my mind to never buy this crap, lol. Simworks pretty much pooped all over this thing if you follow the thread on the official Flight Simulator forum. Sad because the Simworks Kodiak actually has a decent flight model for the most part.
