Thank you for your videos. I live in Australia were effectively shut!! Till who knows when so seeing your videos of this magnificent pomp and ceremony and history helps at lot 😊🇬🇧🇦🇺
Fond memories of being a probationer Police Constable at Slough and helping our Windsor colleagues on a Saturday morning with Changing the Guard...having to have your picture taken with the American and Japanese tourists. Great days...
Fantastic video as usual! The marches played were, 1) The Contemptibles 2) Scarlet and Gold 3) Washington Grays 4) Star of Erin 5) Pentland Hills 6) Red Men's March
when do the irish guards return from operations. they are my favourite regiment. also I think that they will troop their colour next year. all regiments have done so except them since they last trooped their colour
I do try, but for the past 15 months all I was videoing was the guards in the castle, and the bands just started again so I’m focusing-on that right now.
Love watching these videos but can you explain the difference in rank between 3 white stripes and 3 gold ones? Also can individual members in the band 'pull rank' on others and are there any officers in the band?
The band doesn’t have a designated drum major attached to its regiment. The drum majors rotate depending what duties they are on. So you will see drum majors from different regiments to the regiment of the band
Have you never seen the videos of the Band being lead by the Chief Constable on 4 occasions they had no Drum Major available .. Go to Windsorsoldiers on youtube...
@@militaryevents107 not necessarily, a lot of the time it’s rotated depending which drum major has commitments in London district or exercises. Whilst sometimes the drum major matches the regiment on guard. This isn’t always the case.
@@militaryevents107 I joined Thames Valley after the height restriction was done away with...I was 5'6' I remember the joining documentation saying you had to be 'proportionate in uniform'...guess it never applied once you had a few years in...judging one or two of my more rotund colleagues..nice video.
Phantastic Army Band! Happy Great Britain where people can be proud of their military forces! Best regards from Berlin!

Nice, but I hope you will also show the other soldiers marching behind.

The silver 3 chevrons mean lance sergeant, the equivalent to a corporal in the guards, and the go,d means sergeant.
@@militaryevents107 Thank you.
@@rylandblake4404 the officer that you see marching withing the ranks of the Band is The Director of Music
Why is the Irish Guards Band using the drum major from the Coldstream Guards?
If I'm wrong, please correct me. Cheers

Hahaha tiny police officer
He isn’t short, the raincoats they wear are really long and big, and it doesn’t matter anyway.
