WOW! Thanks for your Great video!! The new updates are so amazingly shocking! 😍 I have quitted using MJ some months ago, because I didn't use it a lot, and i didn't want to waste money. and I discovered some very good free Ai image generators along the way. But I think the New Midjourney editor is super amazing! And it is worth it to renew your monthly subscription. Oh!... and do not apologize for creating such a great content! 🙂 You didn't go overboard, I enjoyed watching it. 👍
Thank you!! Midjourney is going to be even more exciting over the next few months with the upcoming v7, multiple custom personalization profiles, video, and 3D 👀. So it's a good time to get back in!

I don't have videos specifically on creating designs for and creating products. Woollyfern, I've watched five other Midjourney UA-camrs reviews of the new editor mode, but I was anticipating your review the most. As usual, you didn't let me down because yours was the best, lol. Please fotgive me if this is a stupid question, but was does Woollyfern mean lol?
Thank you!! Not a stupid question, I've never explained it 😅. Nice video! Finally Midjourney is in this editor game. There are so many choices for us now. I have been using dzine's editor and image-to-image feature for a while. It serves my purposes well. Will you consider making a video comparing all the choices?
Thanks! I haven't tried dzine yet. Midjourney is keeping me plenty busy at the moment🙂. I might do a comparison of image-to-video tools over on my Patreon soon though.
Text should definitely improve in the V7 model (coming out in the next couple months). I'm not sure if they have plans for a new upscaler with V7 or not, but maybe!
Nice to see that Midjourney has this now, but what surprises me is that FOTOR can do the same thing, it always has for a good while now, but nobody ever talks about FOTOR and its like only $31.99 a full year.
hi, thanks for the tips. But when i bring png image, midjourney seem to add extra element to edges of the background generated image. for example, the character black hair is originally short but midjourney extend the hair became a dreadlock hair..
Yea, if there isn't a clear separator between the hair and the transparent part, there is a chance that Midjourney will take some liberty and extend the hairstyle out in the new image. Try including a short description of the character's desired hairstyle in your prompt.
Thanks for the video, very clear :). Is there any way to bring the order or classification of the images generated in discord to the web version? It's been more than a year since he classified what he generated in folders and servers in discord, and in the web version everything is mixed up... and more than 10 thousand images mixed up is a mess! LOL Thanks again!
Thanks! Do you mean keeping your images organized in Discord channels vs folders on the website? I know some people are interested in being able to create images within a folder on the website, because then in would be similar to creating in Discord channels. I'm not sure if they will implement that though.
Although I like the retexturing feature, I haven’t had as much success with the “erase and replace”…usually unless I put in an example photo I just get the same picture…no pumpkin unless I supply it.
My best suggestion is to add the original photo as a character reference. See 09:10 in the video. Also include some descriptive text in the prompt about the person's features.
Yes, Retexture is creating new images, so it will change the details of the original image. Hopefully the next version of Character Reference will be better at keeping consistent face details. For now the best approach is using a CREF with a detailed text prompt.
Oh yes I tested it.For now the texture is only profitable if we create characters with V6/6.1 Niji 6 fans will have to wait.I know they'll go crazy when this is possible.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your comment, but you can use Retexture on any image, including Niji-created images. The starting image I used at 07:55 was created with Niji.
Hi, thx for the video. I have no success with mockup of a png file. Exemple a png file of a branded bottle, i want to put it on a sandy beach. Each time the bottle is replaced with another kind of bottle not preserving the original one, like you did as an example in your video. No luck with that. Every parameters are set to 0. I'm not using retexture. I'm extending the canvas. I don't understand what's wrong. Any clues ?. Regards
That interesting. I was just going to ask if you are using Retexture, because it would definitely change the bottle there 🙂. It should work ok on the Edit tab, but you may see some changes on the edges like I did with the mug example. I just tried my mug again and it seems to be working fine. It definitely shouldn't be changing your bottle that much. Is there any kind of gradient transparency on your png or is it just the solid object and 100% transparency around it?
@@woollyferncreative thanks for taking time to answer. The png is 100% transparency .. and the edit just change the overall look of the bottle when using a prompt that say "a bottle standing on a sandy beach" ... the background is ok , but the bottle has been changed to something different. I can give some screenshots for you to see. Let me know if that could help. I'll post on a google drive shared folder. Kind regards
@@woollyferncreative it does maintain the bottle if i don't use a transparent png file and i'm using the editor to delete manually the background. Otherwise, it doesn't work
Yea, that's pretty weird, but it sounds like you have a workaround, even if it's not ideal for now. If you think it seems like a bug with the Editor itself, I would go ahead and report it at midjourney.com/help. Their form lets you attach screenshots too.
Are you referring to the Character Pose example at 10:00? If so, I first created the initial character pose image with Midjourney. Then I brought that image into the new Image Editor, erased his face and updated the prompt to include a Character Reference (the vintage photo of the man - which was also created with Midjourney). That got me to the cartoon version of the character I wanted. Then I used Retexture to change the style multiple times. Each time I Retextured, I included the Character Reference (--cref) and a Style Reference (--sref) in my Retexture prompt. Check out this video for more on Character Reference: ua-cam.com/video/BOgqKKRT7IE/v-deo.html And this video for more examples of using Character Reference in the Basic Image Editor: ua-cam.com/video/UQ8o0qiNz5k/v-deo.html Hope that helps!
The only really BIG downside is that you not only need a yearly subscription for the editor to work, but if you want your uploaded "private" photos to stay private, you need to go with the PRO plan which is $576 a year... and even then you can't delete any photos, just "hide" them.
You can also use it if you've created more than 10,000 images. I think jobs completed with the new Image Editor are private by default, even for those who do not have stealth mode in their plan. This was mentioned in one of Midjourney's Office Hours. Even after you click Upscale to Gallery, I'm not sure if the image would be visible to others. They are hoping to open up the new Image Editor to more users as long as the new moderation system is manageable, so we'll see!
@@woollyferncreative Mentioning it and clearly stating it are two different things. I really hope that they will stay private even without stealth mode. Thank you for the explanation!
Oh no! Are you using uploaded images or midjourney-generated images? It's working fine for me when using uploaded images, but I'm getting some errors when I try to send an image from my Organize Page to the Full Editor. My guess is they are working on a fix.
