Shouldn't King's Landing and the Red Keep look much more wrecked than that? I also think that the blue White Walker tiles should have disappeared after episode 3.
I agree that the effect they went for was too subtle, but if you watch closely, the mechanisms that animate the exterior of the keep are malfunctioning: the gears and slides sort of tick back and forth in ways they aren't supposed to, and the whole castle is sort of stuck. You might say Daenerys broke the wheels. Cool concept, but way too easy to miss.
If they continued after episode 6, Kings Landing and Winterfell will be rebuilt again and the final image would change from the Iron Throne to Bran's wheelchair with the Three-Eyed Raven sigil over it.
I really liked that they made Winterfell “all banged up” considering the huge battle it went through against the Army of the Dead. The last two openings in the series are my favorites because rather than all the stuff being “on the outside,” we get to go “inside” too and the noises of the “gears grinding” makes it sound so authentic it’s like I’m really in there and I felt like the stuff really was popping up all around me it gave goosebumps to the extreme. Heck, it STILL does!!
I know the opening credits was changed numerous times during Seasons 1-7, but the logo itself was always left untouched. Season 8's the only time the logo was redone too. Just curious as to why they'd even bother redoing the logo now just for 6 episodes of the final season. If they'd wanted to upgrade the logo too, I'd have thought they would've been better off doing it a few seasons earlier. Especially as they had enough opportunities to do so.
because they had fuck-you money to throw at the final season, HBO wanted more, the creators didn't want more though because they wanted to rush off to do their star wars thing. But they did GOT so badly they got fired from that.
Nice detail with how the first location this intro shows the Wall partially broken down. Since Viserion who got resurrected as the Night King's minion destroyed a portion of it.
@Ryan and Kyle Games HD season 7 killed GoT, season 8 wasn't so bad, just clearly rushed but every major thing happening (daenerys mad queen, bran king of 7 kingdoms, arya kills night king) wasn't in itself a bad idea.

They forgot that 😂
I guess the white walker tiles represent the destruction left in the wake of the Army of the Dead
@@TheSpooniestnot enough. The Throne Room doesn’t even exist anymore, to start with
Gotta love the animator whose been changing the openings since episode 1
arc arcon fr tho
You KNEWWWW something was up when there wasn't ANYONE'S Banner logo above the throne. It actually got me uncomfotable before the show even began
Qwayze When I saw that I was like ‘tea’
would have been cool to have the targ sigil up there just once
1:37 No more Lannisters
Except Tyrion
spongeyspikes09 I meant the Lannister symbol
But also no other symbol

That feeling on that day when you realized that this is the last "new" GoT opening ever... :(
u spoke too soon lol
They kind of forgot Dragonstone.
Seriously, there is Last Hearth but not Dragonstone?
va gee gee the last hearth was kept to symbolize the white walkers path to winterfell
Jack Carney the white walkers five minute path before being defeated...
no one is in dragonstone, the intro is meant to show where the characters are
@@cocobasile666 Daenerys and company were in Dragonstone for a few episodes. But no one important was present in Last Hearth after episode 1

Disappointing last 3 episodes.

I love it. I’ve been trying to find it lol
"GoT started out great, but had the worst series finale."
The Republican Party: "Hold my beer."
Basically, everything turned to shit.
The Night King, the lover of darkness, really is a generous soul- he even directed the episode himself!
Who's looking forward to the prequel series ?
A great TV Show

Did Cersei carry King's Landing on her back to the new landscape? Also love how the city doubled in size all of a sudden.
