Absolutely agree with you. I blame the Imp and his incompetence in this matter. Even if the end plot line for her was to be a 'mad queen' as they say. Taking Kings Landing with 3 dragons, a horde of dothraki and the unsullied, would definitely bring the other sheep lords of westeros to the knee. That would have been a better way to get her to that part of the storyline.

Ramin Djawidi really brought every old house alive in their house themes, that's talent. House Targaryen's theme is hauntingly beautiful, having its low moments, representing the house's beginning (not being the finest houses in Valyria) and then coming to power, essentially beating all odds. The theme has it's warnings, "Don't come too close, you might burn yourself" but it's not scary (?). It also has it's magical, royal & "old" moments. It's very well composed and written, so beautiful.

The saddest thing is that this family is dead now. The most beautiful and powerful house, one of the most ancient, destroyed because they didn't know how to write a beautiful character like Dany. I'm filled with sadness but I hope Martin will write something better and that he will keep this house alive
After all these years... I'm still not over the ending. The series was amazing with plot twists everywhere. Have watched it 8 times now and started reading the books. The books are incredible :-).
I have to argue that Season 5 is the downfall. I never watched Game of Thrones when it was airing and I binged it just last year. I got through the first four seasons with ease. It was some of the best television I've ever seen. Then I got to Season 5 and already I noticed a marked drop in quality. Tyrion's dialogue being the biggest drop. At first, I chalked it up to just Tyrion being depressed, then as the show went on I began to see it as just the early signs of bad writing.@@otdaitenick

@@buzzkillington9486 Ned's accusations weren't 100% accurate, because even if Joeffrey was a bastard, there's not enough proof the Lannisters were actually plotting against the crown; Ned thought they were because of Catelyn's sister letter, which was a lie setted up by Littlefinger. In fact, at the moment Joeffrey was considered a Baratheon since only Jaime and Cersei knew -and well, Tyrion too-. If Ned knew better he wouldn't have commanded the capture of Tyrion. Most likely he would have advised Cersei to leave Westeros with her children, and afterwards would have told Robert about the Cersei's infidelities and bastard sons. This could have started a war nevertheless, but not with the Lannisters having some "rightful" claim since Tyrion was injustly captured.

Whenever I play the theme of House Targaryen, I keep seeing majestic dragons flying across the sky. It's a powerful feeling, as this is extremely powerful music. It really takes your imagination out there. Pure genius. Ramin Djawadi is pure genius.

Got the Dothraki to follow her, change their ways, and cross the Narrow Sea. She saved Jon Snow multiple times and helped save the North. Then she took Cersei down. She's done more than any other character on the show.
Dany/House Targaryen has the best music on this show, no contest. If I ever dreamt about riding a dragon, that's the soundtrack I'd have playing in the background. It's so epic

In the midst of the ongoing hatred, let's try and analyse the episode. Before we begin, here's the exchange between Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon. Ned Stark: You will dishonor yourself forever if you do this. Robert Baratheon: Honor?! I've got Seven Kingdoms to rule! One King, Seven Kingdoms! Do you think honor keeps them in line?! Do you think it's honor that's keeping the peace?! IT'S FEAR! FEAR AND BLOOD! I found many symbolism and parallels in this episode. Let's start with the name of this episode, The Bells. This name rings a bell (Yep) for those who knows their history. Battle of the Bells was the decisive battle which shifted the odds in Robert's favor during his rebellion, many believe Battle of Trident to be the game changer, although it was, but Battle of the bells marked the beginning of the end for Targaryen Dynasty. How things came full circle. A Lannister sacked the city and ultimately ended the Targaryen Dynasty, now a Targaryen sacked the city and ended the Lannister Dynasty. Pycelle manipulated Aerys into opening the gates for Tywin Lannister, meaning the gates weren't breached but opened from the inside. Dany blew those same gates from the inside. Why was Cersei's death both satisfactory and perfect.? I will answer that soon, but first let's talk about the elephant (Yep) in the room. The sack of Kingslanding. Was it premeditated? Nope. Not at all. When Tyrion told her about the bells, she genuinely wanted to go with that, that's what she ordered Greyworm to do. So what happened.? Bells happened. While she was on that rooftop waiting for the bells, she had every intention of leaving things at that, but when the bells began to rang she took a trip down the memory lane. (Hats off to Emilia Clarke for such an intense and incredible performance) Upon hearing those bells and staring at the red keep, she imagined the horror her family and her brother's family must have felt during the sack of Kingslanding, the terror in which Elia Martell was, the screams of little Rhaenys and baby Aegon who had no idea what was happening, then mountain came, crushed Aegon's head into a pulp, stabbed Rhaenys while Elia was watching and then raped her while the brain matter of her son was still on his hands, and then killed her as well. (This is why Cersei's death was so perfect, the horror Tywin inflicted upon Rhaegar's family came upon his own family, especially on those whom he favoured the most, the terror and horror in Cersei's eyes for her baby, as well as with Jamie was similar to what Elia and her kids went through). After that Dany remembered everything that happened because of the rebellion, losing their home, begging on the streets, all those who died from Willem darry to Missandei, from silver to Rhaegal. And what did she get in return? Complete distrust and fear. So if they fear her despite doing the good, then yes, Let it be fear. She is not mad, what madness is for other people is a regular Monday for a Targaryen. I told this a few times before maybe others did as well, Cersei did turn the city into a trap, if Dany had accepted the surrender, she would have blown up the city with the wildfire caches that we saw exploding during the episode. Kingslanding was ground zero, and people chose to be in that place, they chose Cersei who hid behind a curtain during the Great war, while Dany literally fought the threat with her own hands. Also many who died in that fire were soldiers as well. She is a khaleesi and Dothraki follow those who can instill fear among their subject, a wise ruler should inspire a little fear, that's what Tyrion said. Take a look at the history and you will see what a weak and gullible ruler ends up having at his doorstep. Speaking about Greyworm, Dany had many loyal people with her, be it Jorah, Selmy, Naharis or Missandei. But Greyworm topped them all. Like I said, the sack wasn't premeditated, so as soon as Dany began her assault, Greyworm quickly followed without hesitating, that was quite a moment. About Cersei and valonqar prophecy. "When your tears have drowned you,(she was crying profusely) the valonqar shall wrap his hands (Jamie was embracing her) about your pale white throat (what happens when you are terrified to your bone thinking about your imminent death, you do turn pale white) and choke the life from you.”(the ruble wouldn't have killed her instantly, it's possible she died a painful death gasping to breath). In S7 we had this conversation between Dany and Olenna. "Dany : I am not here to be queen of the ashes. Lady Olenna : I can't remember a queen who was better loved than my granddaughter . . . and what is left of her now? Ashes. Commoners, nobles, they're all just children, really. They won't obey you unless they fear you." It's not that Dany forgot what she said here like some memes are suggesting, she just chose not to take the overrated moral high ground, instead she chose to heed Olenna's realistic advice. Then we had this part. "Olenna: Peace never lasts, my dear. Will you take a bit of advice from an old woman? I've known a great many clever men. I've outlived them all. You know why? I ignored them. The lords of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No. You're a dragon. Be a dragon." She became a dragon soon after this with Field of Fire and Tarly's execution, but her mistake was that she again went back to the morally correct advices of Tyrion and Varys and Jon, that's what costed her the most. Someone else should have died instead of Olenna, things would have been better a long time ago. Better late than never, Dany finally accepted her dragon part. I will end this with one quick fact. During the onset of Robert's rebellion, Hoster Tully burned villages to the ground when they refused to betray the Targaryens.

So they combined book Aegon's character with Jon's. Jon will surely have a different targaryen name. This will also keep the books interesting. Rhaegar's first son, Aegon, never died in Robert's war. He was shipped off to Pentos by varys and targaryen loyalists to keep the targaryen heir safe. The kid who was placed in his place was a farmer's kid who was then killed by the Mountain along with Aegon's real sister. So Jon's real name won't be Aegon in the books.

He raises Aegon and trains him etc and passes Aegon as his own son by the name Young Griff. So the character young griff in the books is rhaegar's true first born son. The golden company thing they put in the show. In the books the golden company actually pledges itself to Aegon, since golden company was originally founded by targaryen bastards who escaped to essos after the lost the rebellion against Daeron Targaryen, the true born targaryen heir at a certain time. Actually so far in the books, Aegon has landed in westers with his golden company army and has also started his war for the iron throne. Aegon's entire character was axed from the show, hence people don't know about it. Now this is my theory, that the part about Euron greyjoy in the show that he intends to marry cersei is actually Aegon's story arc in the books; that he agrees to marry Cersei in the books so as to form a powerful political alliance to cement his rule as king, and then Jon and Daenerys team up eventually against Aegon which in turn leads to Daenerys burning King's landing and killing aegon and cersei and others in the process. Coz there's no way Bran can become king in the books if Aegon is alive, coz when both Aegon and Daenerys die, and Jon doesn't want the throne, the rule of westeros is passed off to Bran.

I think it's a mistake calling Dany The Mad Queen (read: insane). Her father, The Mad King, thought burning Kings Landing with wildfire would turn him into a dragon. He was clearly insane. After all these years... I'm still not over the ending. The series was amazing with plot twists everywhere. Have watched it 8 times now and started reading the books. The books are incredible :-).
the books are 200% better than serial. And when books' plot was over, the shit of thrones became a garbage (6-8 seasons)
I have to argue that Season 5 is the downfall. I never watched Game of Thrones when it was airing and I binged it just last year. I got through the first four seasons with ease. It was some of the best television I've ever seen. Then I got to Season 5 and already I noticed a marked drop in quality. Tyrion's dialogue being the biggest drop. At first, I chalked it up to just Tyrion being depressed, then as the show went on I began to see it as just the early signs of bad writing.@@otdaitenick

Neds accusations were right though? Joffrey was a bastard with no claim to the throne. That's what started the war if you ask me, and littlefinger had no hand in that
@@buzzkillington9486 Ned's accusations weren't 100% accurate, because even if Joeffrey was a bastard, there's not enough proof the Lannisters were actually plotting against the crown; Ned thought they were because of Catelyn's sister letter, which was a lie setted up by Littlefinger. In fact, at the moment Joeffrey was considered a Baratheon since only Jaime and Cersei knew -and well, Tyrion too-. If Ned knew better he wouldn't have commanded the capture of Tyrion. Most likely he would have advised Cersei to leave Westeros with her children, and afterwards would have told Robert about the Cersei's infidelities and bastard sons. This could have started a war nevertheless, but not with the Lannisters having some "rightful" claim since Tyrion was injustly captured.

Having said this, I've always thought that Cersei had Lancel making sure that Robert was drunk the day he was killed. However, Robert being drunk was nothing new; it was a matter of time before he got himself killed.

Whenever I play the theme of House Targaryen, I keep seeing majestic dragons flying across the sky. It's a powerful feeling, as this is extremely powerful music. It really takes your imagination out there. Pure genius. Ramin Djawadi is pure genius.
When I play it, I see people being horrifically tortured to death by having their flesh burn off of their bones.

In the midst of the ongoing hatred, let's try and analyse the episode.
Before we begin, here's the exchange between Ned Stark and Robert Baratheon.
Ned Stark: You will dishonor yourself forever if you do this.
Robert Baratheon: Honor?! I've got Seven Kingdoms to rule! One King, Seven Kingdoms! Do you think honor keeps them in line?! Do you think it's honor that's keeping the peace?! IT'S FEAR! FEAR AND BLOOD!
I found many symbolism and parallels in this episode.
Let's start with the name of this episode, The Bells. This name rings a bell (Yep) for those who knows their history.
Battle of the Bells was the decisive battle which shifted the odds in Robert's favor during his rebellion, many believe Battle of Trident to be the game changer, although it was, but Battle of the bells marked the beginning of the end for Targaryen Dynasty.
How things came full circle.
A Lannister sacked the city and ultimately ended the Targaryen Dynasty, now a Targaryen sacked the city and ended the Lannister Dynasty.
Pycelle manipulated Aerys into opening the gates for Tywin Lannister, meaning the gates weren't breached but opened from the inside.
Dany blew those same gates from the inside.
Why was Cersei's death both satisfactory and perfect.?
I will answer that soon, but first let's talk about the elephant (Yep) in the room.
The sack of Kingslanding.
Was it premeditated? Nope. Not at all.
When Tyrion told her about the bells, she genuinely wanted to go with that, that's what she ordered Greyworm to do.
So what happened.?
Bells happened.
While she was on that rooftop waiting for the bells, she had every intention of leaving things at that, but when the bells began to rang she took a trip down the memory lane.
(Hats off to Emilia Clarke for such an intense and incredible performance)
Upon hearing those bells and staring at the red keep, she imagined the horror her family and her brother's family must have felt during the sack of Kingslanding, the terror in which Elia Martell was, the screams of little Rhaenys and baby Aegon who had no idea what was happening, then mountain came, crushed Aegon's head into a pulp, stabbed Rhaenys while Elia was watching and then raped her while the brain matter of her son was still on his hands, and then killed her as well.
(This is why Cersei's death was so perfect, the horror Tywin inflicted upon Rhaegar's family came upon his own family, especially on those whom he favoured the most, the terror and horror in Cersei's eyes for her baby, as well as with Jamie was similar to what Elia and her kids went through).
After that Dany remembered everything that happened because of the rebellion, losing their home, begging on the streets, all those who died from Willem darry to Missandei, from silver to Rhaegal. And what did she get in return? Complete distrust and fear.
So if they fear her despite doing the good, then yes, Let it be fear.
She is not mad, what madness is for other people is a regular Monday for a Targaryen.
I told this a few times before maybe others did as well, Cersei did turn the city into a trap, if Dany had accepted the surrender, she would have blown up the city with the wildfire caches that we saw exploding during the episode.
Kingslanding was ground zero, and people chose to be in that place, they chose Cersei who hid behind a curtain during the Great war, while Dany literally fought the threat with her own hands.
Also many who died in that fire were soldiers as well.
She is a khaleesi and Dothraki follow those who can instill fear among their subject, a wise ruler should inspire a little fear, that's what Tyrion said.
Take a look at the history and you will see what a weak and gullible ruler ends up having at his doorstep.
Speaking about Greyworm, Dany had many loyal people with her, be it Jorah, Selmy, Naharis or Missandei. But Greyworm topped them all.
Like I said, the sack wasn't premeditated, so as soon as Dany began her assault, Greyworm quickly followed without hesitating, that was quite a moment.
About Cersei and valonqar prophecy.
"When your tears have drowned you,(she was crying profusely) the valonqar shall wrap his hands (Jamie was embracing her) about your pale white throat (what happens when you are terrified to your bone thinking about your imminent death, you do turn pale white) and choke the life from you.”(the ruble wouldn't have killed her instantly, it's possible she died a painful death gasping to breath).
In S7 we had this conversation between Dany and Olenna.
"Dany : I am not here to be queen of the ashes.
Lady Olenna : I can't remember a queen who was better loved than my granddaughter . . . and what is left of her now? Ashes. Commoners, nobles, they're all just children, really. They won't obey you unless they fear you."
It's not that Dany forgot what she said here like some memes are suggesting, she just chose not to take the overrated moral high ground, instead she chose to heed Olenna's realistic advice.
Then we had this part.
"Olenna: Peace never lasts, my dear. Will you take a bit of advice from an old woman?
I've known a great many clever men. I've outlived them all. You know why? I ignored them. The lords of Westeros are sheep. Are you a sheep? No. You're a dragon. Be a dragon."
She became a dragon soon after this with Field of Fire and Tarly's execution, but her mistake was that she again went back to the morally correct advices of Tyrion and Varys and Jon, that's what costed her the most.
Someone else should have died instead of Olenna, things would have been better a long time ago.
Better late than never, Dany finally accepted her dragon part.
I will end this with one quick fact.
During the onset of Robert's rebellion, Hoster Tully burned villages to the ground when they refused to betray the Targaryens.

So they combined book Aegon's character with Jon's. Jon will surely have a different targaryen name. This will also keep the books interesting. Rhaegar's first son, Aegon, never died in Robert's war. He was shipped off to Pentos by varys and targaryen loyalists to keep the targaryen heir safe. The kid who was placed in his place was a farmer's kid who was then killed by the Mountain along with Aegon's real sister. So Jon's real name won't be Aegon in the books.

He raises Aegon and trains him etc and passes Aegon as his own son by the name Young Griff. So the character young griff in the books is rhaegar's true first born son. The golden company thing they put in the show. In the books the golden company actually pledges itself to Aegon, since golden company was originally founded by targaryen bastards who escaped to essos after the lost the rebellion against Daeron Targaryen, the true born targaryen heir at a certain time. Actually so far in the books, Aegon has landed in westers with his golden company army and has also started his war for the iron throne. Aegon's entire character was axed from the show, hence people don't know about it. Now this is my theory, that the part about Euron greyjoy in the show that he intends to marry cersei is actually Aegon's story arc in the books; that he agrees to marry Cersei in the books so as to form a powerful political alliance to cement his rule as king, and then Jon and Daenerys team up eventually against Aegon which in turn leads to Daenerys burning King's landing and killing aegon and cersei and others in the process. Coz there's no way Bran can become king in the books if Aegon is alive, coz when both Aegon and Daenerys die, and Jon doesn't want the throne, the rule of westeros is passed off to Bran.
So beautiful and majestic, what our queen deserves. Rest in majesty, Daenerys of House Targaryen, the last dragon.

I think it's a mistake calling Dany The Mad Queen (read: insane).
Her father, The Mad King, thought burning Kings Landing with wildfire would turn him into a dragon. He was clearly insane.
Dany is not insane. Just pissed off. It'd be more apt calling her The Angry Queen.
