Thank you for sharing!! The copper fitting can be removed from the old water and placed on the new assembly should it come without one. This is the only procedure that was not in the video. Repair time 25-30 minutes.
I also did not get the copper fitting on my new one; but I wasn't sure how to remove the old. Instead, I used one of those little round quick connect things from my old part to splice together my old line (With fitting) to my new one. It seems to be working fine, I don't see any leaks. I may try to get the fitting off the old one or buy a new one at some point.
@@MillerTime821 if you still have that part lying around you just unscrew the one end and then pull out the plug then stick it back in the new hose making sure you slide the nut part first
Mine didn't come it one either, but it was fairly simple to remove the old fitting and use it on the new line. You need two wrenches to break the nut though.

I can't thank you enough for putting out all your videos. I have a Samsung french door that won't regulate the temp in the fridge, but the freezer works fine. Your vids are allowing me to work on my fridge with confidence. If I get there, I will need to order a water filter assembly and maybe a thermistor.
This video was the ONLY piece of information I had that explained that the water inlet valve was in the filter housing. Hopefully this part will fix my problem..
This video was super helpful. It took me about 45 minutes to replace mine. That solved the issue of the water not flowing unless the filter was removed. Mine went exactly how this video showed except I couldn't get the ice maker line to release using a screw driver like he showed. So, I needed to remove the plastic housing it wen into, cut the hose, and pull it through. I saw another video where this was the prescribed method. Mine didn't come with a part at the end to screw into the water line coming from the wall, but I removed that compression fitting from the old line and installed it on the new one.
Well done video..Followed the procedure... all worked out perfectly. Only difference was my frig, didn't have a clasp lock under the assembly. It just had to be lifted a bit and it slipped right off the guide rail. Thanks for the instructions! I used another video on how to remove the shelf and remove the glass for cleaning... There are clasps that need to be released while the shelf is upside down. They don't pry off from the topside!!
Great instructions. Bought part through Parts Dr as well. Price was lower than other places I looked. There were a couple of minor differences between my refrigerator and the one shown in the video. I couldn't release the gray water line (which goes to the ice maker) by pushing in the collar while pulling line out. I removed the plastic plate, cut off the gray line and pushed it through the plate. Like some others, I had to remove the brass fitting from the inlet water line hookup and re-use it on the new part. Also, removal of the old housing was slightly different. there was no locking device to be pushed down, instead, there was a screw holding the housing to the back of the refrigerator. Regarding the price, the new housing seems expensive (about $170 when I bought it), but it came with an original Samsung filter which sells for $50 at Lowe's.
Thanks for the detail instructions, with you help I just changed out my water filter housing/assembly, it took me about 30 minutes, I get filtered water now!!!! Thanks!
Thank you so much for this video. My filter housing was leaking and I was able to replace it with your clear instructions. Keep those type of videos coming. Thanks again.
Great video. Easy to follow. I ordered the part, followed the instructions from the video and successfully replaced the filter and reservoir assembly. We once again have chilled water from the dispenser!! Thank you!!
Best one yet! I have seen a good many instructional videos. This one took the mystery out of something I thought would be much more complex. That's the mark of a good presentation. Kudos!
Great video!! Exactly what I needed to find all the release points! Spent more time cleaning the fridge while apart than actually changing out the part.
The fridge was put in storage, but rats bit on the water lines (behind the fridge) trying to get whatever water they could. Had to replace the Filter Case Assembly, but once I ordered the part, this video was perfect and led me step-by-step to get it repaired.
This has helped me multiple times as an in training appliance technician, thanks! I do have a helpful tip when removing the sometimes tough as nails grey water line at the top of the cabinet. Instead of using a flathead screwdriver to press the lock ring in, you can use a 3/8” wrench
Excellent step by step instructions. Mine only had one difference. There was no locking tab holding the assembly in. Mine had a tab molded into the bottom deli shelf. I had to press down on the shelf and pull the assembly forward.
Mine was like that too. Another video showed just firmly pulling up on the filter housing. That's what I did and mine came right out. I guess, for reasons I'd never fathom, Samsung made minor variations in an otherwise identical part.
Great video and saved me a lot of money. This job isnt too bad so just take your time. My only complaint is the current version of the unit for my samsung fridge did not inlude the two LED lights. I had to take apart the old and new unit to switch them over. It would have been just as much work to replace the bad valve assembly......but as always, you cannot buy those on their own LOL.
Thanks for sharing! Unfortunately, that is common right now for many of the new filter case assemblies to not include the LED lights and that you have to transfer them over from the original part.
Hell yeah now that’s what I’m talking about! Very nice, detailed and straight to the point. Clear instructions. This is how all instructional videos should be. I have a question. So water is not coming out at all for me anymore. It happened after I had to turn the power off from the breaker box for a minute. It was working fine before then. I ran trimmer lining up the water dispenser hole but there was no blockage. Also took the out the blue hose as well but it was not frozen. Took the filter out and tried it. No water still. According to what I’ve seen on google, the water inlet valve could have possibly gone bad. Aside from the inlet valve, Could this particular part on this video also have something to do with this issue I’m having? Mode number I have is Rf28hfedtsr/aa
@@PartsDr refrigerator stopped dispensing water, replaced the water filter but still not dispensing water. I removed the filter and water does come out.
Thanks very much. That was very helpful. I wonder why there aren't any videos to show how to replace the Samsung Pantry Shelf Assembly that is located just below the filter case assembly and the crisper drawers. Any help in finding one would be so much appreciated.
All your videos are super good. I do not know why my ice maker is not making ice. I do not know if it gets any water, while the water dispenser works great. How do I check if the water valve is at fault. another thing is, how do the two water lines match up if you just put them back in the openings? do the meet in the water reservoir? Thanks
Is there any resistance testing that can be done to confirm if this assembly is the culprit? I have no water going to the ice maker but water is fine at the door water dispenser. Thank you in advance, your videos are outstanding and so helpful!
Although you can test the resistance of the solenoids on the water valve, we have found that this test is not accurate as the solenoid can show a good resistance value but it can not function because it could be physically stuck. There is no simple way that we have found to test this part in a Samsung refrigerator. Here is a video that we made showing how to test a dishwasher water valve that you might find helpful: ua-cam.com/video/vrDSl24vwao/v-deo.html
Great Video, thanks for making these!. I'm having an issue on my Samsung where I don't get water when the filter is installed. I removed the filter, put a new one and no water, but without filter it dispenses. So chances are that might need to replace the filter case? Faulty valve? Can't get a break from this fridge haha
When I looked up the part for my Samsung it was one of the water intake value only models. So, I ordered it, and used this video to remove the filter case, then it wasn't a big deal to open that up and replace the water intake. However, same behavior as before. It works for a while, then stops. If I remove the filter and insert it back, it will work for a few times then stop again. I ordered a new filter, but not hopeful that that will fix it. Not sure what could be the issue now.
My fridge water filer case comes with 4 lines (just like what i have in the fridge exactly) 2 of these water lines are connected in the bottom of the back of the fridge... should i remove the metal cover to replace these 2 lines?
Those lines might go to ice maker(s) in the freezer compartment. We aren't sure what you need to do different to install the part. Let us know what you find.
Your demo is excellent. Why would I have to replace the filter assembly? My water was coming out slowly in my dispenser until it finally stopped. Is it the assembly or is it the dispenser switch?
Hi Terry, troubleshooting this type of problem can be tricky. Usually the dispenser switch is either good or bad. If the water flow got slower and slower until it finally stopped working that sounds more like a problem with the water valve inside the filter case assembly. It can also be caused by a frozen water line, poor water supply to the refrigerator, or the main control board not sender power to the water valve. You will need to do some investigating and testing to narrow down the problem. This video shows more details about the filter case assembly: ua-cam.com/video/H7-c-GSVizg/v-deo.html
This is the exact problem I had. Replacing this part fixed it. My understanding is the valve that gets opened from inserting the water filter goes bad over time and doesn't fully open until it stops opening at all. My water flow slowed to a ridiculous speed until it finally stopped. This part is around $200, but worth it to have filtered water again.
My experience: The screw that secures the case assembly against the back wall of the fridge was something I didn't know about when I had been messing with the assembly previously, so the tab was broken off. When I tried to pull out the grey plastic water line from its "quick release" by using the method shown in this video, it would only come out a little at a time until about the final 10". It was a struggle. There was about a 1/2" discrepancy from where the grey and blue plastic lines on the replacement assembly had their black marks compared to the original. There was no brass fitting included on the white plastic tubing for the water supply connection, which required a trip to the hardware store. Note that a small, trumpet horn shaped reinforcement piece goes inside the tubing to prevent the tubing from being crushed under compression. There is a small 3-wire electrical connector that was very difficult to remove, which required a VERY small metal blade to be inserted to depress the locking tab to release. Other than that, it went OK. This video was helpful. Also of note was a small area of rust on the outside of the fridge's back panel. This is near the top and seems to be caused by condensation from a lack of adequate insulation inside the refrigerator in that spot location.
Just wondering about a tube that goes to the bottom freezer I’m assuming for the ice down there but the new filter housing only came with 3 tubes not 4?
I just replaced this part on my refrigerator... everything worked great from the video, but I have 1 question... on the new part the white water line did not come with the copper end on it to attach to the water line. Am I supposed to replace that myself ?
Not sure you'll see this - but is it possible to just replace the water supply line to the assembly? Everything else works fine, but the supply line has sprung 3 separate leaks recently and only that line should ideally need replaced.
You can try if you can find a line with the same specifications as the original. The problem is that some of these use special fittings where the water lines attach to the water valve and they are not able to easily be removed and replaced. Also, if one line is leaking now, it is likely that the other lines could start to leak soon too. So it may be best to replace the whole filter case assembly.
It appears as if my Samsung water filter assembly froze somehow. It froze the where the water filter is attached, the water filter (it cracked), and the water reservoir. As you can imagine water everywhere. This video is much needed. Any idea on how this assembly, which sits in the fridge compartment, would freeze? My model does have the FlexZone. Both are set to 37 degrees. thx.
I had my case filter replaced 14 months ago. However, my water is not dispensing again. Is it common for these parts to have to be replaced this often?
Can you comment on whether if the refrigerator has both upper and lower ice makers, then there might be an additional water line? And if so - what else would need to be done?
The refrigerator shown in the video has one ice maker. If your model refrigerator has two ice makers, you will have an extra water line that isn't shown in this video. You will need to trace this line back and disconnect it similar to the other lines.
Thanks. With strong water to the dispenser but none going to the ice maker on RF28JBEDBSG?AA 4 door model, I'm not exactly sure where the problem lies. Is there a flowchart to diagnose whether the problem is the valve or the ice maker itself? I just don't want to throw random parts on in an arbitrary fashion hoping to fix the problem. Below you stated in a reply "If there is no water to the ice maker, you could have a bad water valve, ice maker, or main control board. All three of these parts work together to make ice. Any one of these components failing could cause the ice maker to not fill with water." How do you test to isolate/pinpoint the problem within those three components?
Thanks for the video, it is helping tremendously! We have four water lines coming from the back of the new unit. It is a little confusing. Any idea what it is for?
Good question! The refrigerator shown in our video has one ice maker, but if yours has a forth line would most likely go to the 2nd ice maker in the freezer.
Could changing out this part solve dirty tasting water? I have changed the filter twice and water from other sources in the house tastes fine. My only thought is the reservoir has algae in it, but I'm not sure how that is possible.
HI parts Dr. thanks for the video. I have the following problem maybe you have an idea what it is. I get water from the water dispenser, but my ice maker doesn't produce ice. the ice maker cools that I have already determined. I also pressed the reset button but the ice maker makes no movement, nothing. I disassembled the entire ice maker and checked it if I could. There is no water in the ice maker. I already checked the water inlet valve, both valves are 383 ohms. do you have an idea what i can still check? Thks mike
The water valve can still be bad even if it ohms out okay. It can have an internal blockage or failure that causes water not to flow past it. Most commonly we see this type of problem caused by a failed ice maker, but it could also be a bad water valve, bad main control board, or a frozen water line.
One Note to add here, is that if you are getting water under the Crisper Drawer, this is a VERY HIGH POSSIBILITY of being your Problem, ESPECIALLY the part that you mentioned already about using an OEM Samsung Water Filter, as that Appeared to be my Issue, I am still testing this Monster in the shop, B4 I move it back in. I started down the Rabbit Hole with the Dreaded Code 22E, Leading me to think that was my problem, only To find VERY LITTLE Ice, So I resealed The Cover with some 1/4" Foam Tape, and put a New Evaporator Fan Motor in, and So far, so good on that part, It is Holding Steady at 34° in the Fridge, and 0° In the Freezer, at 75° Room Temp. Ice Maker and Water Working ETC. Sadly, last night, after waiting SEVERAL HOURS for the Ice to build up, and Flushing the Water Several Times, I found the Dreaded pool of Water back under the Crisper Drawer. So I happened to have a Spare water Filter " Not Samsung OEM ", replaced it and So far, so good on the leak. I am DEFFINATELY getting the OEM Samsung Filter if this Holds up, and Seriously Thinking about Replacing this Assembly, as It Obviously has alot of possibilities of Leaking, and GREAT VIDEO on Explaning the Internals. If I can figure out how to use Paypal, I am going to Donate to your Channel, thanks for the Videos.
If the problem isn't from this, it is often also caused by a failure of one of the automatic defrost components (defrost heater, defrost bi-metal, defrost sensor, main control board) and the defrost drain is frozen. ua-cam.com/video/bPJM0TCaQDg/v-deo.html
@@PartsDr Thanks for all the replies, I just placed my order with you, and with Express Shipping for the Water Filter Case Assembly, and I already have an OEM Filter Coming. My Model RFG298HDBP/XAA did not have a locking tab to depress under the filter case assy when trying to remove the assy. It just the slot in which it rides.
3:18 This may be misleading, there is cause for concern if the new unit does not come a second plug, with the LED lights. You will need to remove the LEDs and plug assembly from your existing unit, take apart your new unit and install them both. If you don't do this, you won't have lights on the side of the unit. Also, none of the lights in the fridge will work without that second plug.
Thank you for pointing this out! The change where some new filter case assemblies do not include LED lights is something the occurred after this video was filmed. If the new filter case assembly do not include the LED lights, they must be transferred from the original part to the new part.
So in my case the water will not stop dispensing water even with the doors open, power off, machine unplugged, etc. I am thinking the inlet valve for the water is stuck open. I already replaced the dispenser switch and that did not fix it. Is it hard to just replace the DA62-04027A part only without having to replace the housing for the filter as well?
It does sound like the water valve is bad if water is still dispensing when the machine is unplugged. We are sorry, but currently we do not have a video on how to replace the valve inside the filter case assembly. On most models the valve is not sold separately, but on yours it is sold separately.
@@PartsDr Thanks for the quick reply. I read through the comments and it seems it can be done. Why else would they sell it separately, right? I will update my post for those that end up having my same problem as me.
After replacing two water filters, the filter leaks at the filter case assembly for some reason. Do you think I just need to try other filter brands or is something defective with the filter case assembly? It does not leak when the filter is removed.
*BEST TIP* don't by a samsung refrigerator because of this video!!! The models that have this water inlet system mostly have two ice makers, if they are both not working this might be the problem, water dispenser works fine but no ice out of either ice maker. what a pain in the a55 water inlet system, christ!
How to diagnose that Water filter assembly has to be replaced? I have this model Samsung, RF28HFEDTSR/AA. It is not dispensing water or making the ice. Shall I consider this is the problem?
It could be a bad water flter case assembly, but it could also be many other things. Troubleshooting the water system is complicated. Check the water supply from the house to the refrigerator. Check for any frozen water lines. Try to narrow down the problem by process of elimination.
do you have a video on how to uninstall the water inlet valve on samsung RSG307AAWP/XAA? I would like to replace mine due to water dripping from the water dispenser
Thank you for sharing, do you have a video showing how to replace just the water inlet valve? My fridge model# RF23HCEDBSR/AA-09, thank you in advance.
First make sure the front leveling legs are raised. The refrigerator is on wheels, so just make sure the floor is clean and the refrigerator should be able to roll out.
Hi James, the filter case can be tricky to troubleshoot as there are multiple components inside the part. This video might give you a better idea of what each part does: ua-cam.com/video/H7-c-GSVizg/v-deo.html
So I may assume my ice maker is not making ice because I no longer hear water running to ice maker? Im thinking the water inlet valve is bad and not the ice maker unit?
@@kevinmichals7394 If there is no water to the ice maker, you could have a bad water valve, ice maker, or main control board. All three of these parts work together to make ice. Any one of these components failing could cause the ice maker to not fill with water.
@@laurenmiller2769 The water line could be frozen in place in the ice maker compartment. Hi Dustin, on almost all of these refrigerators that have a water inlet valve inside the filter case assembly as shown in this video, the water valve is not sold separately or designed to be replaced as a separate part. It is best the replace this part as we show in this video.
@@PartsDr Thanks - I put in the model number at samsung's site and the part is sold separately. DA62-04027A. Hey @Dustin Lema I am having to replace the same thing as my water dispenser won't stop shooting water out. I think the valve is stuck open or something. How easy was it to just replace the inlet valve rather than the whole assembly? No tubes had to be removed from back side right? Just unplug from valves and put onto new one?
Hi, Great video. My water slowly quit. I changed the filter but it still doesn't work. When I remove the filter the water works normally, Also when I remove the filter there is very little water in it. What could be the problem? Water filter head?
Yes it can be a bad water filter head causing your problem. First, always check that the water supply to the refrigerator is good. If that is good then it is either a bad water valve, bad filter head, or bad water filter. We have seen issues with people using aftermarket water filters that either don't work properly or damage the filter head. Make sure to use OEM filters from a reputable source (there are a lot of counterfeit filters on places like Amazon and eBay).
I tried everything to get my ice maker to work... is this a possible fix? I have running water, I defrosted (df function) and my motor still makes a sound when I push I lever. I tried reset and switched the temperature to recommended temps. I have a strong water flow...any suggestions?
Hello All. Will this solve a warm water from dispenser issue? 4 days ago it was dispensing 40* water. Now 60-70*. Nothing else changed. Ice is good. Fridge, flex drawer, freezer all working properly. Warm water is the only issue. Changed the filter 6 hours ago, that didn’t help. 😔
The filter case assembly has a water tank/reservoir inside that stores the cold water. It does NOT cool down the water, the water is cooled from being in the cold air of the refrigerator. The water tank is not large, so make sure to allow sufficient time after running the dispenser for the next batch of water to be cooled down.
Have a question: the water coming out of the dispenser shows bits of "film" floating in the water, any idea what this could be? we have search a lot and have found nothing.
Odd question - I need to remove/disassemble the shelf beneath the filter case assembly for cleaning - I can find literally *NOTHING* online on how to do this. If you could help I would be most grateful indeed.
We do not currently have instructions for removing or replacing that shelf but we will try to do one in the future. It looks like quite a few of the steps shown in this video will be required to give you access to the shelf.
I have the same question. After our Christmas Eve 7 Fishes dinner we can’t eliminate a fish smell after multiple cleanings. I think the culprit is under this unit on the shelf. Please help! Not sure we have to go through all this just to get at cleaning underneath the housing unit.
Dear staff. Is there a video how to remove my inlet valve instead. Id like to test the valve with my multi meter. We have a low flow from the water dispenser then it drip and stops. Please advise before I order the part. Thank you
There's one thing I do not understand. Where does the grey water line go to? White line the water supply intake. Blue line goes to the water & ice maker. 4:10 Grey is also water line, but it does not seem to connect to anything.
I am assuming that like mine ( two ice makers ) there will be another line somewhere that needs to be disconnected. Im hoping this will be easy to find and figure out .. If anyone has my set up and has done this replacement advice would be appreciated
Yes if you have a 2nd ice maker in the freezer, you will have one additional water line that will need to be disconnected. It shouldn't be too difficult.
Thank you for sharing!! The copper fitting can be removed from the old water and placed on the new assembly should it come without one. This is the only procedure that was not in the video. Repair time 25-30 minutes.

It just had to be lifted a bit and it slipped right off the guide rail. Thanks for the instructions! I used another video on how to remove the shelf and remove the glass for cleaning... There are clasps that need to be released while the shelf is upside down. They don't pry off from the topside!!
Thanks for the tip!
Thanks for the feedback. Nice job with the repair!
Thanks for the detail instructions, with you help I just changed out my water filter housing/assembly, it took me about 30 minutes, I get filtered water now!!!! Thanks!
Nice job with the repair!
Thank you so much for this video. My filter housing was leaking and I was able to replace it with your clear instructions. Keep those type of videos coming. Thanks again.
Nice Job! Great to hear!
I just replaced my filter assembly by following this video. Thanks for posting!
Nice job doing it youself!
Great video. Easy to follow. I ordered the part, followed the instructions from the video and successfully replaced the filter and reservoir assembly. We once again have chilled water from the dispenser!! Thank you!!
Great to hear! Nice job!
Best one yet! I have seen a good many instructional videos. This one took the mystery out of something I thought would be much more complex. That's the mark of a good presentation. Kudos!
Thank you! We are glad you found the video helpful!
Great video!! Exactly what I needed to find all the release points! Spent more time cleaning the fridge while apart than actually changing out the part.
Great to hear! We are glad you found it helpful!
Thank you guys so much for this video. It was perfectly helpful in getting the exact problem we had with our fridge.
That's great! What symptoms was your refrigerator having when this part failed?
The fridge was put in storage, but rats bit on the water lines (behind the fridge) trying to get whatever water they could. Had to replace the Filter Case Assembly, but once I ordered the part, this video was perfect and led me step-by-step to get it repaired.
This has helped me multiple times as an in training appliance technician, thanks! I do have a helpful tip when removing the sometimes tough as nails grey water line at the top of the cabinet. Instead of using a flathead screwdriver to press the lock ring in, you can use a 3/8” wrench
Good tip, thank you!
Thanks this was clearer than the other videos I found. Changed without much problem.
Great, we are glad the video helped with your repair! 🙂
Excellent step by step instructions. Mine only had one difference. There was no locking tab holding the assembly in. Mine had a tab molded into the bottom deli shelf. I had to press down on the shelf and pull the assembly forward.
Thanks for the tip! That is helpful!
Thanks very much for the video! I just wanted to remove the shelf to clean it, but now have so much more information for "down the road" just in case.
Great to hear!
Thanks for this. After disassembling mine I found a blockage in the main line just before the filter. Cleared it, reinstalled, back in working order.
Great to hear! Thanks for the feedback!
Changed mine with no problems! Probably took me about 20 mins. Thanks for the video!
Awesome! Nice job!
Yes it could be a bad water inlet valve. It could also be caused by a bad main control board or numerous other things.
Hello, wondering if you resolved this issue, as it is the same thing that is happening to me!!
Great video, would this fix my issue of getting water when the filter is removed?
Can you please re-phrase your question?
@@PartsDr refrigerator stopped dispensing water, replaced the water filter but still not dispensing water. I removed the filter and water does come out.
@@TxJuggernaut Yes, if this part fails it could cause that type of problem.
Thank you. It would be helpful to show how to take off the vegetable drawer cover.
We have a video on the vegetable drawer cover here: ua-cam.com/video/TPY7Vav2meg/v-deo.html
From your description of the issue, it sounds like the filter case is bad and will need to be replaced.
Thanks for the video. I was able to change this unit without trouble!
Awesome! Nice job!
This is a great video. I would love to see one for my Samsung model RH29H9000SR/AA0000. THANK YOU FOR YOUR EXCELLENT WORK!
@partsdr how do you fix No water flow on the same fridge?? I suspect the blue line is clogged.
Good question. That is my problem too.
Hello I have a RF263BEASR fridge, and I need to replace the water assembly, does the part DA82-02863A, works on this model as well?
Yes, but it no longer includes the LED lights. partsdr.com/part/da82-02863a-water-filter-case-assembly
Thank you so much for the video and part we ordered. This made it way easy to install this part!
Awesome! Thanks for the feedback and order!
Thanks bro
Saved me $$$
We are happy that we could help!
What is your refrigerator model number and part number that you are replacing?
Not sure you'll see this - but is it possible to just replace the water supply line to the assembly? Everything else works fine, but the supply line has sprung 3 separate leaks recently and only that line should ideally need replaced.
You can try if you can find a line with the same specifications as the original. The problem is that some of these use special fittings where the water lines attach to the water valve and they are not able to easily be removed and replaced. Also, if one line is leaking now, it is likely that the other lines could start to leak soon too. So it may be best to replace the whole filter case assembly.
@@PartsDr thank you for taking the time to reply!
Thank you! Your video was fantastic
Glad we could help!
You helped with my New Year resolution!
Great to hear!
Both are set to 37 degrees. thx.
Start by testing the temperature sensors to make sure they are good. We have a video on that here: ua-cam.com/video/J5bwcteeJNM/v-deo.html
How do you remove a broken filter from the filter housing or canister?
We do not know of a good way to remove it. You will probably need to disassembly the filter case assembly to see if you can remove it that way.
I had my case filter replaced 14 months ago. However, my water is not dispensing again. Is it common for these parts to have to be replaced this often?
No, we do not usually see the water valves fail that soon. Sometimes very hard water or water pressure that is too high or low can cause failures.
Can I buy the internal components separately? I just need the plastic part that's above the filter.
On most models, the internal components inside the filter case assembly are not sold separately.
@@PartsDr Thank you. That is the only part that is broken, and it's easy to replace. I guess I'm ordering the whole assembly.
@@Steveke100 👍
Can you comment on whether if the refrigerator has both upper and lower ice makers, then there might be an additional water line? And if so - what else would need to be done?
The refrigerator shown in the video has one ice maker. If your model refrigerator has two ice makers, you will have an extra water line that isn't shown in this video. You will need to trace this line back and disconnect it similar to the other lines.
Should I replace this part if the fridge has been sitting for awhile? Or is there a way to clean it?
We don't know of any way to clean this part.
How do you take the clear cover off the front of the filter compartment? I just need to clean behind the clear part liquid got in there
Unfortunately, we haven't seen an easy way to test and narrow down which of those components is failed on these refrigerators.
@@PartsDr thanks so much for the quick response!!
Do you have the LED lights part number? I have to replace both. Thanks
We usually see the LED lights in the filter case assembly are not sold separately from the assembly.
Thank u so much for sharing and making it looks easy
You're welcome! Let us know how the repair goes for you.
Could changing out this part solve dirty tasting water? I have changed the filter twice and water from other sources in the house tastes fine. My only thought is the reservoir has algae in it, but I'm not sure how that is possible.
Yes it could fix that type of problem, we have heard of that before.
@@PartsDr Thank you for the reply. The weird thing is that the ice tastes fine. Does the ice water supply go through the reservoir?
@@captainstress On most models the ice water also goes through the same reservoir.
Did you figure this out?
Can you just turn the water off on the meter, outside, and just pulled on the 2 water lines on back of the fridge?
Although I got the leak to stop with a new aftermarket filter, I was just too uneasy about the possibility of it leaking again, and I can see where it has leaked in the past as well, so I'm going to replace it, and that way I can clean the Electrical Plugs, and get some Dielectric Grease on them as well.

@@PartsDr Fixed my leak, now I've lost Power to the Condenser Fan motor, getting my Compressor hot, any videos on that ? Compressor Runs, but no Fan
Excellent explanation
Thanks! We are glad you found it helpful!

Where does the grey tube fit into? The blue one goes to the valve and feeds the water outlet. What about the grey?

*BEST TIP* don't by a samsung refrigerator because of this video!!! The models that have this water inlet system mostly have two ice makers, if they are both not working this might be the problem, water dispenser works fine but no ice out of either ice maker.

Any tips on how to slide the fridge out by yourself, without damaging the floor or using a handtruck?
First make sure the front leveling legs are raised. The refrigerator is on wheels, so just make sure the floor is clean and the refrigerator should be able to roll out.
What if one of the tubes is just stretched? Is there a way to replace the tube by itself instead of buying the whole part
On most models the tubes are not designed to be replaced and are not sold separately.
VERY HELPFUL BUT HOW DO YOUKNOW IF THE FILTER CASE IS BAD.
Hi James, the filter case can be tricky to troubleshoot as there are multiple components inside the part. This video might give you a better idea of what each part does: ua-cam.com/video/H7-c-GSVizg/v-deo.html
I replaced this part to fix a no ice problem., after changing this part how long does it take for the ice maker to start producing ice?
Typcially 6-12 hours for the ice maker to cool down and start making ice.
Great video! Does the water inlet valve also supply water to ice maker?
Great question! Yes it supplies water to the ice maker(s) and the water dispenser.
So I may assume my ice maker is not making ice because I no longer hear water running to ice maker? Im thinking the water inlet valve is bad and not the ice maker unit?

Hi,
Great video.
This was my exact problem. Replacing this part solved it.

Thank you
I'm sorry, we do not. On most Samsung models where the inlet valve is inside the filter case assembly, the inlet valve is not designed to be removed.
There's one thing I do not understand. Where does the grey water line go to?
White line the water supply intake.
Blue line goes to the water & ice maker.
4:10 Grey is also water line, but it does not seem to connect to anything.
Grey on the refrigerator in this video goes to the ice maker. You can see it in this video here: ua-cam.com/video/stXZXe6PRD0/v-deo.html

It shouldn't be too difficult.
that was so easy thank you
