I had £1700 worth of cards stolen. ACE are arguably the most respected UK grading company. The quality of their slabs is a lot better than any other UK or US company in my honest opinion, albeit they do not hold as much value as the US companies who have been around for a long time. They have refunded me for the full value of my cards although I do understand not every person who lost cards have had the same luck. It does seem their security for inadequate and if they do survive as a company they will need to improve in this area. I would certainly grade with them again because I love their slabs but will probably hold off for a while.
1. "We had security measures, but somehow they avoided it" 2. "They didnt take any machines, they're pretty expensive..." 3. "They knew which cards, which rows to take." Wake up.
The issue is that they have never run the company properly, it was always about getting famous not about actually creating a professional business. Its very clear they didn't hold the cards in a safe unlike other UK companies.
He posted a couple of videos on UA-cam of tours of the facilities which may not have been smart...I still think an employee or ex-employee was behind it. This year's financial report said the company, "had net current liabilities and accumulated losses." He's re-imbursing customers before the police investigation is finished and the insurance has paid out, it's all rather strange.
There are a few grading company’s In the UK, with MGC, Ace Grading, tree frog grading etc. Ace Grading has been good with me, no problems at all, Ace Grading need better security and more check, I think they have learned a lesson from this.
I remember watching one of his videos in which he was grading cards with ACE that he bought raw from Japan. When he revealed his grades, he comped ACE grades one for one with PSA graded cards (ACE 10 = PSA 10, etc.). I thought it was strange that he was doing that and that people in the comments were defending him whenever someone was questioning why he was comping ACE slabs the same as PSA graded slabs. Then later I found out he has partnership with them or is a part owner. Pretty big conflict of interest if you ask me.
UK has to be tricky af. I'm in Italy and anything coming to me from the UK or the US all has to go through customs, so I can't imagine these guys are getting much business from the EU. Honestly grading is such a PITA in Italy that I just submit cards whenever I happen to be traveling in the US on business.
I'm in the UK but always send to PSA. It's actually similar cost even with shipping factored in. I pay about £1 more per card then if I went with Ace and also don't have to deal with Customs like everyone is afraid of. Customs clearance takes replying to 1 email and it's cleared. So I'm not sure why everyone in the UK is so scared of sending to PSA. Even with a middle man company like Sub Centre it's not much more. The people who use ACE are mainly doing it because the slabs look nicer. Which some of them do look very nice but they don't look professional for a collector or investor, it's just a gimmick for influencers to show off. That's my opinion as a UK grader and collector
A company called Ace Grading, ran by Randolph and other people at ACE Grading, also had cards go missing before they left that company and set up ACE Grading. I will leave you to decide whether it is an inside job.
Tbh I think they’ll be fine, this can happen to any company, I remember my second batch of cards I sent to psa got stolen/lost but thankfully they weren’t to high end, just a bunch of chameleon cards for my PC, people were writing off Ace after a year and they’re pushing 4 years now nearing 300k graded cards and definitely picked up a lot this year, have just recently sent a submission to them 2 days ago also.
So news companies are saying he is claiming for £250,000 yet according to the email I got, all the cards were ungraded and only a small amount were stolen 🤔 I have the emails for proof also
I definitely wonder how they wouldn't have adequate insurance to deal with these situations. I haven't watched the video and not sure if that's addressed. Giving raw value of cards seems fair as well.
So outside of the cult like following many can see that it was a cash grab from the start: 1. Sidemen friend who was behind them financially and wanted to compete 2. Teamed up with graded gem who were a psa middleman making a few quid per card and thought why dont we get all the money from each card. Thus resorted in psa blacklisting them and people's cards being left in limbo for years. They were now a rival and put to the back of the backlog. 3. Psa closed up for covid it was a perfect storm to get people to try it 4. Enlisted the whole of the UK poketuber and influencers to get free grading in return for promoting ace to their followers. Most grade more bulk to sell in mystery bags at good profit. 5. Rumours that finances weren't good the same time other aspects of his life were crumbling. 6. Break in happens = A. bunch of donations and gofundme will balance the books. Or B. They close and blame the robbery not a failure due to psa destroying them

Thank you for the 1st hand account.

Great video NEO. Would not have heard about this otherwise.

That’s crazy if all the cards were just laying out somewhere

He gets 10s and sells them it's a racket.
@@ExposedBen If you watch his slab videos, he clearly doesnt always get 10s.

@@dezze0n I ship with FedEx and insure most times I send

Graded Gem had a parcel of returns from PSA go missing before it was delivered to them...... get the tinfoil hat off

9:26 personal responsibility FTW 🙌
Isn't the 'robbery' here when the company accepted $ to grade cards?..

Sounds like insurance fraud too.
How tf does it sound like that 🤣🤦♂️
And you base that on zero facts and zero evidence to support your sentence.
Look at company's house and some maths it looks exactly like insurance fraud
So Ace is not the place?
Too easy I passed on that joke.
@NEO_Cards_Comics 🎣 😁
😂😂😂
I think you're using the phrase "grading company" very loosely... Its a covid pop up that will soon be out of business
This is a bit different because of the UK twist imo.
@NEO_Cards_Comics I don't think much of anything started by a UA-cam personality
You are an absolute loser
Who cares
Well you clicked on the video so you tell me?
@@NEO_Cards_Comicsmoney line is on that they won’t 😂
...exactly, why the hell are you talking about this?
Why did you click on it?
It seems he is not fully covered under his insurance and not even knowing how cards were stolen means a lot of improper business practices
insider and probably owner trying collect insurance money
