Hey Randy, as a local business owner myself, my heart goes out to you. This is something we all dread. All I will say is; don't be too hard on yourself. Unless you literally left your doors wide open and unlocked, the people who broke into the property and stole from you are responsible, not you. I know as a business owner it's habitual to take things on the chin when they go wrong, but this one isn't on you by the sounds of it. All you can focus on is how to move forward. It might be hard to process and seem like an incredible obstacle at the moment, but 5 years from now you'll be able to look back on this as a huge learning moment and period of growth. When you said everything in your life has recently gone down hill, I completely felt that with everything going on in my life recently. My step dad and brother were both diagnosed with cancer this year at 69 and 33. No words can describe the community in Pokémon and how amazing it is, and the community definitely from your end. I always try to find a positive in every situation and this will only bring awareness to everyone and how to be even more secure. We can't change how people act but only hope it spreads awareness and they find the crooks. Hope to see Ace Grading continue to grow!

I will never stop getting my card graded by ace - SCUMBAGS ARE SUMBAGS it has nothing to do with ACE - you can only do what you can - get up, dust off, and improve to do what you all do best! STAY STRONG RANDY
I believe their is a gang travelling around the county targeting Pokemon businesses. My local TCG shop (Total Cards, Newton Aycliffe) got £1mil cards stolen from then. The gang cut a hole in the reinforced steel wall of their warehouse to get in! This was last year I think & the business survived, so take some comfort in that. On a personal note, I think it is time to get a therapist if you don’t already Randolph 👍
this was an inside job to some extent without question. To know the security measures in place and where exactly the cards are kept of value isnt random at all. The situation you spoke on feels verry similar in that way. Maybe they buy info from an employee or possibly somebody connected to an employee.
@@zsutton6687 Not everything is a conspiracy, businesses get robbed every day. The case I mentioned was a shop so they could easily recce the site in the weeks before. Same with Randy's place, there are videos of the facility on the internet. Probz only open 9-5. Go in on a night, get the cards, deslab and get regraded with PSA. Too easy sadly.
@@zsutton6687not necessarily. You’d be surprised how easy it is to bypass security systems and gain access to buildings these days. Most companies use the same alarm & CCTV systems and aren’t always there to prevent break ins, but are there to tick boxes insurance wise.
Received the dreaded news today that my submission was part of the break in, naturally I'm gutted about it, its not the value of the cards I've lost its the memories that were made with friends opening them, but at the end of the day its just shiny cardboard pal. As soon as I can pull enough heat to get my next submission sent off I will because you and the team have created a really cool product that i, and so many other people in this community believe in, and quite frankly that's because we believe in you too. I cant imagine how hard its going to be over the next period to pull yourselves back up but we're all rooting for you guys
Be tricky to do that,as if they break open slabs ect then they just raw cards,and then they can drip sell them over weeks and months,or sell them at events or whatever,sad

Nothing is random about this in any way and the knowledge of exactly where certain cards were stored, what cards were there that is all knowledge only certain folks have. Usually in an instance like this the employee or former employee assumes insurance will cover it so who are they really hurting, when in reality this can tank a business.
Incredibly unlikely. The staff there will have been vetted, are probably well paid and wouldn’t risk their livelihood, relationships, career and freedom to be caught up in something so stupid.
I have submitted with Ace from the beginning and in my store we use a middle man service for customers, i will of course continue using ace, we send 100s of cards monthly and myself along with my customers love Ace and I personally love the passion and commitment you have behind it Randy, A true Pokemon fan who cares about game and the customers, you can't ask for more. Chin up my friend I know you will smash 2025 no matter what. Have yourself a great xmas , we got you.
From the explanation here about the current security there it's obvious that its an inside job. He won't say it because if they can't find the culprit it will put people off grading with ace until that person has been found out. I feel bad for Randolph and anyone who had cards taken.

I am planning to submit my own cards in a few days and I genuinely mean it when I say this situation is not going to change that. I will submit my cards regardless because it is clear you care deeply about Ace and this community, plus as a customer I trust that this will only help you guys improve security etc and it wont happen again. The passion you show in your videos is genuine. If it's selling at a booth or buying from shops in Japan. Was thinking about getting a few things graded with ace for the last few weeks, but decided to wait until after christmas... This announcement doesnt change the plan, these things happen but doesnt ruin the reputation of the business. What you and the team at Ace have built is nothing short of amazing and will continue to support regardless of this. They will sell them in person, have direct contact with people or ship them abroad. We can always look out and try cross check people who sell expected cards with previous suspicions but its almost impossible to prove. There was a shop that got robbed of about 1mil in stock in the UK before so maybe if we find suspicious cards from them and also from now it could have a chance, we can pray.
Devastated for you and all involved. This won't be the end for you mate. You and your team are a detrimental part of the community and I think I can speak for a lot of us and say we can all tell how hard you all work and we appreciate that and I'm sure you will all get through this in the best possible way. Im personally not in a position to submit yet but as i save up i will be deffo be sending some cards for grading. I know as a business owner it's habitual to take things on the chin when they go wrong, but this one isn't on you by the sounds of it. All you can focus on is how to move forward.
It might be hard to process and seem like an incredible obstacle at the moment, but 5 years from now you'll be able to look back on this as a huge learning moment and period of growth.

When you said everything in your life has recently gone down hill, I completely felt that with everything going on in my life recently. My step dad and brother were both diagnosed with cancer this year at 69 and 33. No words can describe the community in Pokémon and how amazing it is, and the community definitely from your end. I always try to find a positive in every situation and this will only bring awareness to everyone and how to be even more secure. We can't change how people act but only hope it spreads awareness and they find the crooks. Hope to see Ace Grading continue to grow!

I'm so sorry about this, hun. I'm old, I've been through things like this in my life and I promise you things get better. The key is to keep doing what you love even if you have to start again. Sometimes catastrophes turn into opportunities and end up being a good thing in the end. Sometimes it feels like too many things happen at all at once and it becomes unbearable. It is bearable and you can get through it. I know that's hard to hear right now and I hesitate to say it, but trust the wisdom. You are obviously sincere and I wish you all the best. I believe their is a gang travelling around the county targeting Pokemon businesses. My local TCG shop (Total Cards, Newton Aycliffe) got £1mil cards stolen from then. The gang cut a hole in the reinforced steel wall of their warehouse to get in!
This was last year I think & the business survived, so take some comfort in that.
On a personal note, I think it is time to get a therapist if you don’t already Randolph 👍
this was an inside job to some extent without question. To know the security measures in place and where exactly the cards are kept of value isnt random at all. The situation you spoke on feels verry similar in that way. Maybe they buy info from an employee or possibly somebody connected to an employee.
@@zsutton6687 Not everything is a conspiracy, businesses get robbed every day. The case I mentioned was a shop so they could easily recce the site in the weeks before. Same with Randy's place, there are videos of the facility on the internet. Probz only open 9-5. Go in on a night, get the cards, deslab and get regraded with PSA. Too easy sadly.

Most companies use the same alarm & CCTV systems and aren’t always there to prevent break ins, but are there to tick boxes insurance wise.
Received the dreaded news today that my submission was part of the break in, naturally I'm gutted about it, its not the value of the cards I've lost its the memories that were made with friends opening them, but at the end of the day its just shiny cardboard pal. As soon as I can pull enough heat to get my next submission sent off I will because you and the team have created a really cool product that i, and so many other people in this community believe in, and quite frankly that's because we believe in you too. I cant imagine how hard its going to be over the next period to pull yourselves back up but we're all rooting for you guys

Be tricky to do that,as if they break open slabs ect then they just raw cards,and then they can drip sell them over weeks and months,or sell them at events or whatever,sad

Nothing is random about this in any way and the knowledge of exactly where certain cards were stored, what cards were there that is all knowledge only certain folks have. Usually in an instance like this the employee or former employee assumes insurance will cover it so who are they really hurting, when in reality this can tank a business.

I have submitted with Ace from the beginning and in my store we use a middle man service for customers, i will of course continue using ace, we send 100s of cards monthly and myself along with my customers love Ace and I personally love the passion and commitment you have behind it Randy, A true Pokemon fan who cares about game and the customers, you can't ask for more. From the explanation here about the current security there it's obvious that its an inside job. He won't say it because if they can't find the culprit it will put people off grading with ace until that person has been found out.

I am planning to submit my own cards in a few days and I genuinely mean it when I say this situation is not going to change that. I will submit my cards regardless because it is clear you care deeply about Ace and this community, plus as a customer I trust that this will only help you guys improve security etc and it wont happen again. As long as Ace grading is around and I hope you're able to recover. I for one will not stop using this service. Unique and solid product. I can't praise it enough. The passion you show in your videos is genuine. If it's selling at a booth or buying from shops in Japan. You can see the love you have for this and I hope it stands above all in the future.

Was thinking about getting a few things graded with ace for the last few weeks, but decided to wait until after christmas... This announcement doesnt change the plan, these things happen but doesnt ruin the reputation of the business. What you and the team at Ace have built is nothing short of amazing and will continue to support regardless of this. Things like this will be sold in small amounts and likely underground sales etc
I don't think they're that stupid to sell online. Either crack and regrade, sell raw or sell it 1 at a time over a long period.
Mine was a full set of mint ash's Pikachu cards possibly all 9-10's 😢
They will sell them in person, have direct contact with people or ship them abroad. We can always look out and try cross check people who sell expected cards with previous suspicions but its almost impossible to prove.
There was a shop that got robbed of about 1mil in stock in the UK before so maybe if we find suspicious cards from them and also from now it could have a chance, we can pray.

Im personally not in a position to submit yet but as i save up i will be deffo be sending some cards for grading. Just dont give up even if you have to scale back for the time being you can get to this point again. i hope you can show more ways that you are adding security and i reckon that will help the community trust ace more.
