Let me know how you enjoyed this stretch routine! I am by no means a professional, but I do believe that doing these stretches on a regular basis will definitely increase your flexibility! Much love! See you soon Xx- Maddie
MadFit this was so amazing thank you. I def neglect stretching and this was so informative and I really felt like I learned a lot
Hey Maddie - just wondering if you have done a video on your gym wear? Really curious to know which brands you buy!
How many times a week do you recommend a week should do this workout?
It’s a great 🥰❤️
Hi! I'm new and I just wanted to say that I really loved it! I'm not very flexible and this is definitely a thing I wanna change. Thank you for making this video! I like the way you explain the positions because sometimes I'm not sure if I'm doing it the right way, so it is very helpful!
I would definitely love to see more stretch routines!

I feel you the fact that I have been doing taekwondo for 5 years and still I am not flexible
for the people just starting this, i have some advice.
don't push yourself too hard on the first few days or otherwise you'll feel pain next day and won't be able to continue.
be consistent and always warm up a little before stretching.
Thank you!
How do you warm up for stretching, isn't stretching kind of a warm up?
@@enbyous1234 basic stretching is warm up for workout routines but for this type of stretching where you are trying to increase flexibility, you need to do a little exercise like jogging, jumping jacks, situps so that your muscles don't tear too much when you stretch and you don't injure yourself. also , it'll actually improve your performance if you perform stretching after warming up . hope that helps ☺️
Ex gymnast here, I’ve always been really flexible and this routine is amazing. I do these stretches before a long walk and I can really feel the blood flowing to my muscles. I recommend doing all these stretches slowly and don’t do any of the stretches if you feel pain while doing them.
@@christiebarry6264 when this whole time I thought the pain meant I was stretching them right
This is definitely for beginners. I’m not a flexible person either but doing this everyday has made me very flexible. (This is after COMMITTING for several months. Not just a day then complaining about it) when I first started I couldn’t stretch anywhere near as much as she did but I stretched as much as I could without overdoing it/hurting myself. Being sore after it’s normal(not hurting but sore, like working out after not doing it for a good while) consistency is 100% key. Every week or even day if you can, push yourself to stretch deeper than the week/day before. Again, never overdo it, as you can end up actually hurting yourself. 💛 (also drinking plenty of water and keeping up with a healthy diet and lifestyle/Mindset is a huge help)
Dont look like beginner to me. Can’t even get close to my toes
Can you stretch as far as her now? And is this video the only stretching you did?
I’m struggling to find a program that is not in like 20 videos.

Thank you. I'm 73 with arthritis in my hips. I started stretching with you last week and already I am having an easier time getting in the bathtub and putting on my shoes and socks, which had become more difficult since staying home so much during the pandemic. This is a great routine, although I can't do everything, but I'm trying and it's working. Thanks again!
I’m really proud of you and so happy this helps 🥰
This is so beautiful. You're story is honestly inspiring me to keep going with this stretch routine. Have a wonderful day!
This is awesome, I'm so pleased for you.
Wow you’re my inspiration to keep going no matter your age. I love it!!!
Wow, good job
to everyone having a hard time doing these stretches, give it your best and dont be ashamed to take breaks inbetween. theres always tomorrow to do better :)

i'm recovering from a bone marrow transplant over a year ago. my body was so stiff from so much bed and resting. I love this routine. I'm incredibly stiff and can barely do these stretches but im keeping at it. I'm 62 year old and i used to be a gymnist in my youth and always worked out throughout my life. It's very frustrating being this inflexible but i know it's necessary everyday to get back. It will be a long road, but I want to thank you for having these stretching videos.
Hope you are doing well! Best wishes
Anyone else trying to get flexible now that they're stuck in their house with nothing better to do?
Update #2: I missed a couple of days, but I have mostly been doing this for 3 weeks every night and I am SO much closer to being able to touch my toes. I've never been able to do that or do the splits, but I tried going down into the splits position and I was the closest I've ever been. I was still like 6 inches from the ground, but progress is what is important in this case. Once you make it a routine, you find yourself wanting to stay in the stretches even longer even though it hurts a little bit because you can feel the muscles stretching. How are you guys doing? Have you noticed any improvements?
Update! I have been doing this consistently for the past two weeks and I have seen a MAJOR difference. When I tell you that I am NOT flexible at all, I mean it. I'm going to keep doing this every night before I go to sleep just to have a routine. My biggest piece of advice would be to focus on your breathing while you are stretching. Keep up the good work, guys! :)
Katherine Maeve glad I’m not the only one! 😂 building good habits out here.
me tooooooooo, I can't go to the gym so might as well do this at home
Katherine Maeve lol me too
Same here! No excuse now...

Is there a level that's before beginner???? I just did this and learned I'm as flexible as a flagpole.

Keep at it and you will slowly become more flexible.
LOL! 🤣
get yourself some yoga blocks and soft blankets to place under your legs during those tough stretches. also make sure you're very warm before attempting

I've only been doing this for a little over a week every day and I can finally do some of the poses all the way, some very close, and some I'm still working on. Thankyou!
Thats good to know. The butterfly in reverse...my poor knees and my whole body shakes 😅 the legs in the air I had to grab a blanket near by. 😆

Every time she says "feel that stretch" means to me "feel that pain".
My life flashes before my eyes
Haha true ! 😂

agreed
Stretching isn't supposed to hurt 💞
Yo, talking from experience, if you haven't seen the video yet and are scrolling through comments, *do not* try to go as far as she goes. Do not push too much so that the pain you feel is unbearable. Take it easy, especially the first time. Of course, there will be a little pain (/moderate when she says to "pull in closer"), but that's all you should allow yourself to feel. Your muscles will be dead for the next week otherwise. Don't pull on them crazily. You need to let your body adjust to this.
Good luck everyone! :>
I'M doing little booty workouts, the fist day the one of cloe ting and the second day the one of Daisy keech and the third day is for rest, the 4th again like the first and etc..., When I have to do this yoga workout? Once a week on one of the rest day?

This is actually the exact stretch routine they teach in serious dance classes as warmups before each lesson to prevent the dancers from injuring themselves. It may seem kind of thorough but trust doing this exact routine in this order everyday for a few months you will have flexibility for life.
I've been following this vid every day for two weeks - thank you for putting this together! I'm a dude pushing 50. I go through periods of getting fitter and then letting myself go, and then rinse, repeat. I haven't stretched since middle school (I know). I could barely reach mid-shin from a standing position the first day. Today, I can almost lay my palms straight to the floor. Bonus: my persistent lower back pain has all but vanished. Will shake up the routine with other MadFit vids, but thanks again. I actually FEEL better after having stretched. Who knew?
This is great to hear. I’m the same, on and off on and off. I have low back pain and tight hip flexors from sitting at work all day. It’s good to see that consistency does play a part because i give up so easily if Im not in a split the next day. Really something that’s hard to grasp as a mindset but thanks for sharing your story, im going to stay consistent!

goggles789 my bad, thank you for letting me know!
I used to think stretching was supposed to be the easier part of fitness lol. I mean, it is in many ways, but it is by no means the most comfortable thing to do with your body. She can do it so calmly because she's had lots of practice. Also you may try warmup your muscles before going into the stretch. Like a stationary march or a light boxer shuffle. I find that helps with the stretch routine than going in completely cold. Most important thing like the others have said is to listen to your body and go at your own pace. Slowly but surely you will start to find more ease. :)
One week in and I can't believe how much progress I've made after 10 years of sitting in an office chair. I can touch my toes without bending my knees! Such a good routine to pair with yoga
Wow!! Thank you for sharing and motivating me because I also can't touch my toes. I'm about to start my flexibility journey. 😊
I thought you did an excellent job at narrating. I also appreciated that you stopped briefly to make sure everyone could see the next exercise properly. It’s been about 20 years since I’ve done my regular routine of yoga + Pilates so I’m relearning how the different poses should feel when done properly. Great Job!!🎉 I look forward to seeing any other videos you make as I progress from stretching and feeling the pose properly back into a regular routine I could do with my eyes closed. Thanks so much for your time. It was appreciated 😊
ok I was feeling really discouraged because I cannot hold these poses but these comments made me feel so much better

Same. I was thinking that I was one of the completely inflexible ones with no hope. Turns out I'm one of the better ones. Also, is it normal to not be able to straighten your leg when laying down and pulling it up? Every time I try to bring it up my knee joint just says "Oh hell naw! I ain't doing that sh*t!" and my lower leg just falls.
I was born with brachial plexus paralysis and have double scoliosis. I’ve been doing this stretch routine everyday for about 3 months and I’m amazed at how much better I feel now. I thought having back pain everyday was normal. Now, with simple stretches everyday my back hurts 80% less. I can also touch my toes and do the splits!!!!
This is sooo wholesome, wishing the BEST for you. You go girl 💕💕

I’ve worked out for over 2 years and haven’t really given any thought to flexibility (other than before workout basic stretches) and this video really helps!
I do martial arts and have been struggling with flexibility -- Been doing this routine every day for 2-3 weeks now and it's helping me a lot! Feeling good :D
The most important part is knowing where your limits are. You don't have to go as far as she goes, and you don't have to hold it as long as she does. You can take a breather during the exercises if it becomes too much. Just go as far as your body allows you and keep doing that, and every time you do it your body will go a little further. The thing to keep in mind is: you should feel it and it's okay to be shaky, but it should never *hurt*. If it starts to hurt, move back a little or go back into a resting position for a second or two. And make sure to warm up before and cool down after.
Good advice. Instructor should be saying this.
It always hurts though but it feels comfortable. I don't know if that's alright
@@teenshii I would say until a certain point is has to hurt to increase the flexibility. Just know where your limit is :)
Thank you 😊😊😊

I’m a 14 year old guy who decided to bring this into my routine atleast a couple times a week, along with my full workouts. This is my first time with this video. A lot of these stretches felt really good! I really didn’t realize how flexible I actually am! Thanks for the video!
Same
If you keep it up it will be useful when you're old
Same, except I'm a 14 year old girl with absolute no flexibility ahaha
For stretching, higher frequency and less pushing limits works better than over-straining yourself and taking days to recover. If you're wanting to keep that flexibility or build on it, I'd try to fit in a daily routine, even if it's a shorter version of this some days and the full 30 minute version just a couple times a week.
(If you end up old and broken down like me and go see a physiotherapist, they'll give you stretches to do multiple times a day to try to bring back some of that flexibility. The results of that kind of stretching are genuinely quite impressive. And trust me, it's worth maintaining that flexibility. Strength training you can make gains well into your 40s and beyond, flexibility is very hard to develop even when you're in your prime.)
I do these every morning and have been for the past week and already notice such a difference! my back never hurts anymore 😭
I did it! I did it all! Yay me! I am 42 and really overweight and my doctor had me promise to stretch everyday

Right now, I'm a little overweight (not super visible) but mostly out of shape. I just haven't been moving a lot for the past couple years, energy in the toilet, and have been noticing some soreness and stiffness not because of exercise but LACK of it. When I try doing physical activities I loved as a kid it's kind of scary how little it takes to wind me. Not old either.
I've decided I want to at least start the process of getting my body to a better place. Following this video I gave myself permission to do the best I can starting out. Timing I got to 23:54 and in terms of the stretches themselves some I did much better than others. I figure this is a case where doing them on a regular basis is what counts, and hopefully with practice my body will get more used to it and able to keep up better.
Right now I'm actually kind of relieved I got 2/3 through and just that I could move and feel that stretching happened. Think some part of me had gotten to a place of just accepting I wouldn't be able to move properly again. So really appreciate this video.
I’ve been so stiff lately from skateboarding, and your video really helped to loosen me up. Thank you! It’s really great finding content like this from a pro.

Same, every time I try to anything flexible while keeping my legs straight my knee just gets a bunch of extreme pain.

I promise anyone who can’t touch their toes due to inflexibility do this for a month and you 100% will. I think soon I’ll be able to lay my palms down even too!
Did you do it every day?
@@Paakku97 most likely
i will do this every say, started yesterday. i hope i could become more flexible and reach to my toess
@@aada9560 yay well done! You’ll be able to do so much more in just a month. You and your body will thank yourself. : )

been doing this for about a week i can already see improvements! so excited to get more flexible
Thank you so much for this. I'm also a former dancer, now left with lots of chronic body pain from the stress of it and lots of stiffness from many years of neglecting stretching. This made me feel 15 yrs old again, stretching for class with my teacher. This has helped me tremendously with combatting depression and body pain. Can't thank you enough ❤️
i feel like i could be best friends with pretty much everyone in the comments
Of course you can! All positivity here :)
Sure!!
:D
Yes yes!
Love making friends ❤️
I've been doing this stretch routine for ~1 month now (almost every day) and my improvement in flexibility is unreal. I can (almost) touch my toes without bending my knees (started out ~4-5 in away). Arthritis runs early in my family (I'm in my mid 20s and already show signs) but this routine has helped me so much. I can feel myself improving every week. Thank you Maddie for this video! 💜
Try a myofascial release on your hamstrings using a small tennis ball. It's amazing what it can do. Add it to the routine and you'll be touching your toes in no time.
@@KT-ib1oe will try it out. Thank you for the suggestion!
good job!
I hope i get this kind of progress!
had the same expierence and also rheumatic athritis. so it improved my health but dont overdo it. hear your body
ive been trying to stretch regularly for almost 2 months now and this is my fave stretch routine to do so far
Did this and although it was challenging for me, I'm proud of getting through the whole video. Thanks, Maddy. Will do this regularly. 💖
Thank you! I am a large woman and this was the 3rd stretch video I tried. You made it easy and accessible. I recently started on my weight loss journey and you allowed me a great stretch without making me feel bad about what I can't yet do.
Hey! A bigger guy here also on the road to losing weight! I also feel really great about this video and everything in it feels approachable even with the extra weight. Hope you're doing well on your journey as well!
This is the comment i needed. Im ready to try it. Thank you!
This one was very nice I also enjoyed it but please do try Anna Mcnulty she’s Also amazing at this🙏🏽
yo saaaaame
Big people can be flexible!! Good luck on your weight loss journey and be sure to keep stretching so when you reach your goal weight you can already be flexible!
"If you can touch your toes..."

"Ahh of course. So simple!"
Lmao 😂
lol me too.
check out my vids! I can help you touch your toes in 3 weeks!
😂 you can do it!!!
I cried laughing at this post..toooo funny kmsl
Recently went from a very physically active position to driving a forklift. For the past month I've been so stiff but yesterday we shut the company down until after the new year. I'm going to try to incorporate this stretch into my daily routine because I did it for the first time today and I feel so much better. So much tension relieved and I feel like I can really breathe. Thank you so much!
This works like magic everytime. Whenever I’m really stiff, I do this stretch exercise and after the stretch I feel like a new person.
I’ve been doing these stretches almost everyday (on lazier days i use her 15 minute routine) after my workouts for the past 2 months and YALL my flexibility has gotten SO much better. I can finally touch my toes/the floor for most of the stretches (except the side stretch), and i feel SO GOOD. My muscle recovery after intense workouts are a lot quicker too!
This gives me hope that if I keep at it, I will improve. I have been trying to stretch as much as I can but havent been overly consistent and really want to work on getting more flexible. So I hope the more consistent I am, the better I will get!
Yes!! This stretch makes you feel so relaxed like you’re on a cloud
How long have you been doing them for?
If this is for beginners I think I need whatever comes before beginner.

My thoughts exactly. All these YT videos that have "beginner" in them are 99% not beginner level.. It makes me freak out sometimes i swear..
@@ludwigvonn9889 im on my second day of trying to get more flexible and I'm already freakingg out!
Haha you reminded me of that scene from kung fu panda when he asks isn't there a level zero😂 and when shifu sees how bad he is he says now there is a level zero
I started this program 2 weeks ago and I already see results. I practice it every night and it feels good! Thank you very much and nice work
That was a great stretch routine thank you! I have power lifted most of my life so big weights and zero stretching. you gave great directions and it was easy for a beginner to follow. I plan to do this every day. Thank you!!

Lol.. I relate to that!!!
You can get halfway? 🥲

I love everything about this video. I started doing beginner yoga at a studio a few months ago. My husband then got a work assignment overseas, and I am now in a foreign country away from the studio. But I just came across this video. I love how you gave suggestions for modifications for beginners, and your cat was just adorable!! Thank you!
Super helpful. Thank you so much for putting this video together, it covers almost everything! Super therapeutic for the body❤️
I love how I'm here sweating and breathing heavily in an unearthly pain and she's like - "Now pull your leg a bit closer", I CAN'T, IT'S GONNA RIP OFF OF MY BODY, LADY !!!!

If you're in actual pain you probably went too far..

Great video, Maddie. I lost a lot of flexibility when I stopped practicing martial arts and this was just what I needed to start regaining my flexibility. A lot of the stretches were familiar to me but dang that last one was tough!
Hi Maddie! ❤ Thank you for this great video! I got back into fitness last year with your beginner workouts, which brought me up to an intermediate level. My husband saw my progress and it inspired him to get fit too. He hasn't stopped and is reaching his fitness goals!
I came down with a few health challenges last year & this year that prevented me from being active. I lost all my progress, but I'm grateful to be healthy again and I'm getting back up on that horse. I did this stretch routine today and I felt great afterwards! I will start exercising again this week with your beginner workouts. I feel encouraged because I did it last year, so I know I can do it again! Love your channel Maddie! Keep up the great work! ❤

best stretching video ever. I was doing this continuously for a month and my posture and flexibility were so great. I had to come back to this video and start up again!!
What a great stretch routine! I definitely struggled a bit but I am determined to be able to get deeper into these stretches the more I do this routine. Thank you!!
I didn't know my body could pop this much!
At one point i was like "oh well, there goes my hip... pop"
Lmao, my back popped with the back stretch, I was like ahh yess
That happened with my legs!
Its so scary when i can feel my hips about to pop… im scared its gonna DISLOCATE!!!
I've been doing this routine for more than 2 months and let me tell you I feel so much better physically and mentally!!! I've lost my flexibility but I've gained it back with this routine, even if its for beginners it helps me stretch properly and be consistent with stretching exercises again THANK YOU SO MUCH x
Omg thank you I want to do this two times a day and today is my first day and I was not sure it was going to work am a dancer for 2 years and I’m not even flexible Because I never put the work in it lmao
Rachael Dawood I’m a dancer too, we can do this!
Nicole Rose I did it for like 3 days I need to go and do it again
Justin Leahy I do it one time a day and at night I do a 5 minute stretch
You are great. Since I started stretching with you daily, a lot of the tensions have been gone and I’m feeling a lot better and lighter. Thank you.
Carmen
I have never really done much stretching, just what comes before or after someone's workout. This workout....was soooo good. I am definitely not a dancer nor have the body of a dancer but my body felt so elongated after this stretch! Loved it and recommended it to my two sisters. Thank you! I like your set up, the music, and your instructions. Please keep posting!
Hey, I just want to pop on here and share my story. I've suffered from hypermobility in my ankles, back, neck, wrists and knees. I was injuring myself for months at a time, I've been in and out of wheelchairs and crutches always felt hopeless and cursed by it. Recovery took forever. Then lockdown came along and I thought, you know what Kate, let's get flexibility. Now I've discovered I can get more flexible quicker than most. For the first time , hypermobility wasn't so bad. I did this video for 2 months and I didn't injure myself. And this has been the first year... EVER that I haven't hurt myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you to the moon and back, Maddie. This has changed my life. Thank you to the comments for making me laugh and feel supported. Thank you, thank you thank you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Great job! ❤️ hehe you got an advantage 😉
HYPERMOBILE GANG GANG
yeah i'm not allowed to stretch near my shoulders because they pop out 😃👌
I also suffer from hypermobilty and the pain is unbearable at times I first started feeling really bad pain in my ankles when I was 5/6 and the pain in my ankles got worse when I sprained my ankle when I was 8 and when I was 10 I started getting really bad In my knees before that I would occasionally I have sore knees but it really became I problem when I was ten the first time it happened my ankles had been sore when I woke up and it was bearable and my mum gave me some medicine in the hopes it wouldn't get worse as I had school anyway I went to schools and my ankles got even worse throughout the day I told me teachers and I had to skip p.e and I sat Inside at lunch with my friends and I got some more painkillers from the office (my mum gave some to the office and signed a form saying that I was to take some If I was in pain) it don't help and my mum and to come get me as I was nearly in tears later that day I could feel the pain creeping up my leg into my knees and when I got really bad In my knees and cause my ankles were so sore I was crying my eyes out and I was nearly screaming I just lay in not moving a muscle. The first time it started in my hips was when I turned 12 it got really bad for the first time and a couple of months (this is like 3rd this has happened since I turned 12 I'm now 13 nearly 14) my whole legs were just in agony and I lay in bed crying and screaming just trying to stay still cause it sometimes helps. And the things is when I do alot or exercise for a while I can get really sore, if I'm just at school doing what I normally do even a day without P.E they can get sore, but also if I try to rest they get sore because I haven't been doing much so it's kinda hard to find a balance especially with covid and there being so many restrictions. In the past I have been to Podiatrists for my foot and ankle pain and they gave me insoles for my shoes and told me to do stretches they then sent me to a physiotherapist when it started to progress to knees and they gave me stretches and exercises to do it and it did help but I don't go anymore because I wasn't in as much pain but it has started getting worse again but I also hate doctors which is a problem cause I tend to only tell people about pain when it is absolutely unbearable because Im afraid of being taken to a hospital so everyone knows that when I complain about pain that I'm actually in a lot of pain.
My shoulders and neck strated bother me when I popped my shoulder out when I was 8/9 but it wasn't like when I popped it out in the when I had popped it out before then as I had also maneged to pull my neck and shoulder muscles and after I did it I tarted screaming and fell to floor because if the pain and I was doing the simplest of things when I hurt my shoulder (I was hyper at the time so It was a bit more powerful and my movements/actions were over exaggerated but for someone without hypermobilty I wouldn't have popped their shoulder out)
@@Verystrongman84 ik how you feel I literally popped my shoulder out undoing socks
Congratulations!! Keep going!
I have been doing this routine about 3x a week for the last month. While I haven't done it every day, I have gotten so much more flexible. I didn't know I had it in me.
I used to absolutely hate stretching - but I've been doing this after every workout and now I look forward to it. I even feel less of the chronic pain in my lower back , which is amazing and unexpected.
If you feel like you can't do these stretches at all right now (like me when I started), know that all you need to do is keep trying! You can do it!!!
xoxo
Thanks for sharing! I just started doing it before my runs now I think I will do a stretch in the evenings too after my back and core workout
Ay yo same. I used to hate stretching because I start shaking like a Nokia. Hopefully this helps
I also have trouble with lower back pain, hopefully this helps me too!
Yes! Do it every other day or maybe three times a week when starting out, so your muscles get a chance to rest and recover, but keep at it! That's the most important thing. Maybe set a goal for yourself, like, I want to be able to keep this pose for this many seconds, and work towards that over time to keep yourself motivated.
Any update on the flexibility? Xo
I started with your twenty minute beginner stretch video. When I felt like I needed a little more I started this video. I have loved both videos and it helps me tremendously especially with my hips. I don’t get pain in my hips while sleeping if I do these videos. Appreciate them very much.
