- I unbox and test kitchen gadgets, to review and see if they are any good. Will this corn on the cob thresher work? I test an onion chopper and slide graters too.

All lol
all of it
I love how this UA-camr hasn't quit for 12 years.
why would he even quit?
@@abhigyan4892 I'm just saying that because some UA-camrs have quit/died.
Same
@@LiamFrancisOlartebro really said „/died“ 💀 (Rip to them all tho)
@@LiamFrancisOlartemy man have bill to pay
This corn thingy is not for sweat corn but for the hard one that's used for popcorn....
Also it should be used with the low RPM setting of a drill.
yeah that makes more sense
The first 1st item; ✅ - dried corn and lower drill speed 🙄
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING
Ah yes sweat💦 corn

Uh-huh you can say that again
the first gadget is supposed to be used for dry corn which is hard almost as a rock so you can feed the corn to animals
Correct
Great point man
I 5hink that if you want sweet corn you need to do it slower
Or the torque settings
The slap chop gadget could be really useful for disabled people as well as the other gadgets which i don't find many people considering
That's the only people I'd suggest it for, learning to properly use a knife to dice and mince gives far better, consistent results. Though a small food processor is better.
It's also a huge pain to clean, at least the version we had, which opened on hinges to reveal the blade.
I can’t stand these slap chop gadgets at all. They seem to get stuck, or just completely mangle what they’re supposed to be chopping.
My late wife use to use ours to chop up her pot lmao
The drill thing is for fully ripe, dried corn as a grain, not sweet corn.
underrated comment

After 12 years: not dead, not quit, not “taken a break”. What a legend you are.
For #2, the veggie chopper- my mom always cut into quarters first & the chopper was successful
Nice! I think the veggi chopper is a really useful and reliable tool.
Been watching this channel since 2014 and I love how this guy has not changed the background audio or the style of filming. What a legend!
the corn drill is for dried corn lol
Thank you so much for taking the time to do the research and order the products that you highlight on your channel. I never miss an episode because you're always so nice and thorough with your explanations. And I have ordered some of the items in the past. Thank you again for all you do.

It's nice to see videos still coming out from you, even if it's been more then ten years or so!
Just wanted to say, I hope you still enjoy what you do, and it'd be nice to potentially see more DIY-type videos, like the older ones? Anyhow, if you're reading this have a good day!
I still enjoy listening to your piano playing Dave 😊🎹🎶
Music by Kevin MacLeod.
I think “pretty cool huh” is the best phrase
That corn thing honestly made me uncomfortable 😂
I also have a veggie chopper, it works great and is kinda fun to use. I would also suggest at least cutting it in half but quarters work better for larger veggies like onions
I love these gadget reviews, Dave! These are absolutely jaw dropping!
I love your channel ❤
Well thanks so much 🙂
I think the first gadget is of raw dried corn.
I had one of those choppers years ago and it was meant to be used with the base cover on. That keeps all the veg or whatever under the blade. The problem I had was the blade being hard to keep aligned with its upper cover.
That electric high-speed corn cob shredder does a really good job at creaming the corn.
When all UA-camrs uploading videos for over 10 years are quitting, this guy is still making videos, good work
That corn stripper is for dried corn, it's more common in asia than the west
Thanks, that makes a lot of sense!
@@DaveHaxhope to see it in action again in one of the next episodes 😊
i dare dave to see how much time it would take to make a starter a main and a dessert using any kitchen gadgets he wants
i’ve been waiting for this guy to do a face reveal for the past 10 years
The last 6 year of watching you have been very good
Thanks!
for the first one you had to use dried corn
Love the video, keep making content like this which is so amazing
UNDER 1 MINUTES ❤👍
Edit: For the corn thing in the beginning you are supposed to use dry corn 🌽
The first gadget was making the corn mushy mainly (and it is a possibility) that either the bolts weren’t screwed all the way down or something else.
Nah, it’s made for dry corn, not sweet corn.
Please keep coming back dave we love your videos and want to see you more often
thanks for all your hard work over the years, sir. you're very industrious and admirable
My childhood UA-camr, the best part is I can come back here after so long and feel the same like I had 10 years ago because he never changed his style, your honestly one of the best UA-camrs
“Pretty cool huh?”
-A famous life inspirational quote from DaveHax
I was literally watching a DaveHax video when I had notification for this 🤣
How funny, which one were you watching?
Genius cleaning products that actually work 🤣
About the last grater/slicer gadget: I think it deserved a higher grade because you CAN use the slider with the grater. You just take the blade off and flip it.
I'd recommend trying the corn tool with a lower rpm on the drill
It’s pretty cool he knows what a sine wave is.
What is a sine wave?
@@Therealgangsterfr-neverseder13 good question. A sine wave is a geometric waveform that oscillates periodically , and is defined by the function y=sinx. In electricity, a sine wave is the representation of AC current.
I can remember a cutting chopper like the one shown from the late 60’s early 70’s, that didn’t catch on either!😂
This is a good video so far very good amount of effort put in this video
DaveHax is the GOAT of hacks and life tips. Been a subscriber since around 2014 probably. Live your videos!

Prediction for 2025, and for like 12 years in the making, this guy was still not quit this guy our only hope for old UA-cam coming back
the best thing is that this guy has been here for many years and never gave up, I think being a kitchen gadget reviewer was his dream😀
That corn gadget is supposed to be used for corn with hard kernels
if i were to guess for the corn thing you made two mistakse
1 it needs to be slower
2 the corn is too soft its probably intended for harder corn like popcorn corn (infact thats probably the type of corn you see used in the demonstration video)
Yeah.... I got a grater like the green item in the video. It barely works, and i most often remove the slider and grate garlic normally. The slider tends to just tear the clove to ragged pieces around the middle of a clove
this first gadget looks like a torture device
This looks like, "I ripped my incisors out by placing corn on the cob on a power drill," part II.
how is this man not at 10m subs his content is so simple but soo entertaining and high quality.
as a kind we used to have something like that machine number two, the chopper. but this one looks like it's little brother, the main differences are that the one we had was like 4-5 times the size and the blades were actually sharp.
Maybe the drill speed was just too high? A slower speed might push them off rather than blend them, though might take some trial and error to find a good speed.
im somewhat sure that the first gadget is meant for dry corn for popcorn
Congrats! You’ve made creamed corn. Yum!
I don’t know if anyone has said this but with the corn drill, it’s possible you’re drill is spinning way too fast meaning there’s way too much energy hitting the kernels
There’s nothing really I’m using to back this up, just my thoughts
The Hax really be haxing
6:20 thanks for the life hack
We have that slap chopper and its so nice
Keep it up Dave!
The cutter might work better for the onion if you peel the skin a little more
It looked like the corn in the first picture was dried. So it probably works if the corn is dried and hard
These gadgets are very cool Dave! They’re awesome 😎
love your videos man
I''m pretty sure the corn drill attachment is meant for getting kernels from dried corn cobs used for making popcorn.
Wow my favorite nostalgic
After many years, STILL at it!
i feel like that first one has to be a gag gift for you're dad or pop type thing lol love that you are still doing UA-cam dave hope you are doing well too
Thanks so much! Yeah I'm doing well thank you, I hope you are too. Have a great weekend...
I've got a different brand of food chopper but it's exactly like the one you tested. It's called the Slap Chop and is super! I've had mine for years and it's really held up! I find it extremely handy for chopping various fruits, vegetables, nuts, and herbs. I highly recommend a chopper similar to what you've got or the Slap Chop. It looks a bit sturdier than the one you've tested. 🙂 And I wouldn't waste my time with that ridiculous sweet corn stripper! It's an accident waiting to happen! LOL
Hi Dave. I have the same graters that come in green, pink and blue
Ah cool, what do you make of them?
I bought my mother an “Auto Chop” almost 60 years ago. Exactly the same as the one you demonstrated.
For "Grater Slicer" I believe you need to move part from one side to other, it is like this so you don't have to move in such small dimension
that first corn drill is so chaotic
Yeah definitely!
his voice is so calming..
for big grater use slader on other side
2:10 that looks soft and fluffy for some reason...
I have that onion chopper btw. Takes me 20-30 minutes to chop the onions by hand.
2:26 For this gadget You need dried corn not fresh... 0:08 you can see it on that videa that it is dried corn ...
That corn processor is used for dried corn like field corn, or popcorn
The second kitchen gadget is similar to one that was advertised as 'the slap chop ' !!
Lol 😂 maybe peel the onions before trying to chop it with the device 😅
I watch your videos everyday when i feel bored. Keep the hacks going!
Thanks so much! Lots more coming soon...
@@DaveHax Wow! Cant wait to see them all!
I think not being able to use the grater with the slider was an oversight in design, but absolutely love the idea of using the slider with the cutter. Might be a good design idea for a larger size mandolin.
The black holder slider thing has clips on the side. I guess you can unclip it and put it on the grater side.
i think the first one is for the cattle corn since its harder kernels
I have number 3. I took the holder off so I had a mini grater for my Parmesan cheese at work 😅
Best british youtuber ever
for the corn drill maybe try drilling at a slower speed by lightly pressing the trigger
I think the issue with the half onion was that there was a dry, tough layer still on the outside it was catching on- you can also see it with the pre-cut onion, it just gets pushed down the side instead of catching on the whole blade like with the whole one. Try peeling the top layer under the flaky skin off and maybe it'll work better.
2:27 I have one of those, but it has different colors and shape.
2:22 I think it might be spinning too fast? It seems like it’s meant to push the corn kernels out of the skin stuck to the cob, and since it’s spinning so quickly it’s pulverizing the corn in the process
The chopper you used they had them out in the 80s as my mum had 1 of them.
Davehax, you can see in the corn gadget’s advertising picture that they’re using a different corn variety. It’s not for sweetcorn/ corn on the cob it’s for the kind used for popcorn. Could you source some and refilm for us?
I have an idea that you should do for the corn thing if you push on the drill button less it goes slower so maybe you just have to go slower maybe going full speed with the drill messes it up
The ginger and garlic grater/slicer looks like its a good kitchen tool
the slider slicer could be used for making home made potato chips
Try using the corn gadget on a slow speed. I noticed it was grinding them.
The Corn Drill is used to thresh corn that is still raw (dry), not corn that has been boiled (soft). So when you try it with boiled Sweet Corn, the result is that the corn kernels are destroyed, because it is not intended for it.
This one gave me a good laugh!
2:22 it is for dry corn as in the video at he begining no? :D
