For me it's the head bob like "hey". I didn't really get the whole draw to make a celebrity sign something or get a selfie with them. Like it's not a meaningful interaction usually. If I got the feeling they wanted to sit and chat with me, I might get a little more excited or star struck, but it's pointless to try to stand out like that for someone you don't actually personally know. But don't worry, I'm no where near competent enough to do the head bob. I probably wouldn't believe or recognize the celebrity because the crowd and noise would be disorienting to me.
