Jaiden disguising herself as Mark’s ex just to acid blast him in the face has the same energy as Travis murdering Santa or the other hilariously pure evil things you can do in DnD.
This perfectly captures what DND with friends is like. You come in expecting Critical Role but in reality the GM is going to have to watch your characters eat mud. 😂
Honestly, it's the most messed up spell ever that you can just give somebody depression by yelling depression. This was extremely fun to watch. I need a part two
@grimrobot2059 technically it can't really do that because the spell she used was command. The spell only takes effect if the word can be used as a command like "HALT, STOP, GROVEL, RUN" and "depression" isn't really a command. But Charlie is a cool dm so he let it go because he's chill like that.
@obi-wankenobi737 Yeah, but critical roll is capable of being serious, in contrast to literally every game I've ever played. Goblin bard: 'I would like to take the Goliath's flute." DM: "Roll strength check to see if you can hold it." Bard: "Nat 1" DM: "You drop the flute, and it breaks." Goliath barbarian: "I SPENT MY LAST GOLD ON THAT!" Chaos ensues
Once, I needed a new character, so I made a guy, and her backstory was that she was originally a chair, but was permanently polymorphed into a half-elf woman named Ivellios, and halfway through the campaign, she walked into an anti-magic field, causing her to turn back into a chair. Everybody else was so terrified to go into the field that our ranger had to handle the entire fight on their own, and it took almost twenty minutes to het the chair polymorphed back into Ivellios. That will always be my favorite character I've ever played.
Seeing you draw Ranboo made my heart rate spike and i literally gasped then stared at that image for like a minute This is my first time having a crush this big
Kudos for the amazing setup of the D&D quest. Simple, but fun to play. Charlie planned out the game to be easy to get into the game and knew what his players would enjoy.

This kinda reminds me of an ongoing Warhammer40K campaign I've been running on and off for roughly 20years now. It mainly takes place on our made-up planet "Chronika" which is the only place the eponymous substance of "Chronika" can be found (like the Spice of Dune/Arrakis), and it's basically a potent explosive/fuel/DRUG/mutagenic/whatever MacGuffin you want. Also: the clay monsters... the shier courage to give your players that much freedom in the knowledge that you have to somehow get their creations to fight is just impressive XD
the streams of this where it's just the reaction to Jaiden acid-blasting Mark's face is priceless, but this gave immense context and an overall story. Amazing.
the burst in vtt's and other ease of use applications has made dnd 1000x more approachable for the everyman as well as giving them more places to play, its great! I want to play more in person but online is fine when I cant
I love how Mark specifically only had beef with Ranbo’s character yet decided to curse Alpha’s son. Either to deal with the lose of his own kid or bc Ranbos character didn’t have any loved ones to curse
The fact that Jaden made no mention of the backstory of her own character makes it even more funny, like, you HAVE to watch the full session if you wanna know about the *coin toss*
This perfectly encapsulates the spirit of D&D. A group who have no common interests are just roped into a story together, the DM taking them through a crazy adventure and the player chaotically destroying everything along the way until they succeed. Loved it.
That 'casual conversation' with Paul was one of the most intense dnd background stories I've ever heard. And also a very believable motivation for striking up a conversation at a bar. Venting. I also love how he asked if she knew his boss before saying anything that could get him in trouble.
Yeah, i decided to join a dnd group with my friends(half human half animal, or humanoid characters) and created a Tortle named master Oogway. My first session we fight an owl bear. then beat it without anyone dying. We won because my friend said “dice go boing boing” the dropped the dice and rolled a nat20
I was holding my laugh all the way through but the "cast Depression" part just killed me. I think I saw that clip floating around awhile ago but completely forgot about it until I watched this video. She literally emotionally manipulated the main antagonist before blasting his face with acid point blank. It takes a lot to shake Charles Slmccl like that and she did it in like- 10 words or less. Girl is an actual menace to society and her social anxiety is the only thing keeping all of us safe. If she somehow picks up Charlie's extroverted energy in these prolonged DnD sessions, we are DOOMED.
Jaiden, Alpharad, and Ranboo playing a DnD campaign with Charlie as DM. Never in my life I thought I would see the day that such a power party came into existence. I can already tell this is going to be one HELLUVA campaign.
It's also really on point with the whole "you all meet in a tavern" and players straight up telling each other's backstories as if they were in a therapy session

This perfectly captures what DND with friends is like. You come in expecting Critical Role but in reality the GM is going to have to watch your characters eat mud. 😂
Bro clearly hasn't watched critical role because they get up to the exact same kind of shenanigans 😭
For several hours
@obi-wankenobi737 Yeah, but critical roll is capable of being serious, in contrast to literally every game I've ever played.
Goblin bard: 'I would like to take the Goliath's flute."
DM: "Roll strength check to see if you can hold it."
Bard: "Nat 1"
DM: "You drop the flute, and it breaks."
Goliath barbarian: "I SPENT MY LAST GOLD ON THAT!"
Chaos ensues
Once, I needed a new character, so I made a guy, and her backstory was that she was originally a chair, but was permanently polymorphed into a half-elf woman named Ivellios, and halfway through the campaign, she walked into an anti-magic field, causing her to turn back into a chair. Everybody else was so terrified to go into the field that our ranger had to handle the entire fight on their own, and it took almost twenty minutes to het the chair polymorphed back into Ivellios. That will always be my favorite character I've ever played.
A campaign I was in had someone play a wild magic chair person and a similar situation happened. His name was Chari

Seeing you draw Ranboo made my heart rate spike and i literally gasped then stared at that image for like a minute
This is my first time having a crush this big

I love how you could feel the exact moment people rolled 1's without someone calling out "OH MAH GAWD IT'S A ONE!"
Nothing quite like half a halberd boomeranging back and hitting you in the back.
Its amazing that you could see where the rolls are and how they landed without even mentioning it in the story 😂
Trueeeee. And you can tell alpharad was getting heckin unlucky a LOT haha
I could physically see the two straight nat 1s Goblgob landed to try to use the shove action
I really loved how you snuck in Grog, Pike, Vex'ahlia, and Keyleth at the start of the bar scene.

Kudos for the amazing setup of the D&D quest.
Simple, but fun to play. Charlie planned out the game to be easy to get into the game and knew what his players would enjoy.

Larry. It's Larry
Larry when he eventually snaps from Geeta's overwork.

The battles have mostly been fought between 'Rogue Traderish' Tau+Mercenaries, Pirate Orks, and Plague Marines. Its pretty awesome.
My favorite part of this is you can tell exactly when they failed rolls 😂
That's the best part
Alpha boomeranging his axe must've been a Nat 1 for sure XD
