CARBON BEACH

When there's a heat wave, we head to the ocean waves. This time, it's to Carbon Beach, aka "Billionaire's Beach". What was once a private beach, it was forced to turn public in 2007. While most of the homes are right on the beach, there is a little neighborhood in the mountains right next to it. It's a small, of course exclusive neighborhood, and most importantly during a heat wave, it faces the ocean. Unfortunately, the ocean breeze didn't migrate far enough, and it was almost 100 degrees by the short half-mile to the top! The road turns up for another half mile, but we'll do that when it's not boiling outside. This time, we go back down to the ocean, nourish ourselves at the Malibu Country Mart, see a humongous dog, some art, and a new streetwear shop, and then head home along the Pacific Coast Highway. Stay cool, everyone.

@@DavidBigandt yeah, I was shocked when we first moved out here and had to take a tunnel under the PCH. I was like, really, this is what they do here? 😄
