The Slap on sucks because they didn't follow through and shafted most of the Monsters. Nergigante and Anjanath did it all the way through, they get slap on that eventually turn into normal Monster Hunter Weapons which is perfect. But then like Tobi-Kadachi gets some final weapons and then a bunch of slap on and not even one of every weapon type. And then the worst are Kulu-Yaku and Jyuratodus who only get slap on even in Rise
Yeah, It's baffling that even Xeno got the slap on treatment. Even Iceborne monsters got a mix of original and slap on weapons. Never really found it why they took this confusing route with which some weapons got slap-ons & some don't. It's not like they can't design original ones. For sure they can.
To be honest I think the Nergi GS shown in this video works way better than the actual design we got. Nergigante weapons just need those thick, bulky spikes, but instead they went for very thin and long ones with both the slap on and the final weapons most of the time. I think that the weapons we got in World looked worse overall than in previous titles, not just for slap ons :D
I'm currently rocking the Lunastra Base SnS with Namielle parts.

Cool, very Cool but I'll stick with my frozen fish and rocket powered greatsword.
The way Gog intended.
Two good gunlance ones are Lunastra base with Glavenus part, and Kulve Taroth base (one without the rainbow coloring) with Acidic Glavenus part
Those are nice as well, but the shield looks off to me. I prefer the thorn bone GL (the MR bone one) with Acidic parts.
