Thank you for the very well explained thorough video about weapon options! But I really do wonder about on what armor set I should use as the game progress, will there be an upcoming video about this somehow?
Thank you very much for the compliment! Well, I do have a build video but it is more for late and endgame: ua-cam.com/video/ukY2-mQLSHY/v-deo.html I am going to start a playthrough soon where I start with Swaxe from zero again but I can only give the advide to look for armor pieces with power prolonger and evade window for Switch Axe, maybe speed sharpening or protective polish and the rest just offense skills, ALWAYS get your crit up before damage if you have to choose! Affinity > Damage
@@BloodyWyverianare there safi weapons that do better at element then the alternatives for kjar? I dont have any kjar but i do have safi weapons i could upgrade, and until i get high rank kjar weapons i need something else,or are the alternatives you mentioned for elements better than safi weapons?
@@Sadcatblake Safi weapons are porbably the second best elemental weapons right after kjarr weapons. It depends how you upgrade them but if you want to go full element, the safi weapons will serve you very well. The alternatives I mentioned are mostly for everyone who neither has access to Safi or Kjarr weapons.
@ nice, and you said that alatreon weapons are best dragon right? Are there any late game monsters that dragons actually good against? I have the alatreon switchaxe and really like it.
to learn SA, do you think i should start with most basic SA or should i start with one of you talked about? because i've been trying to learn SA but only with great jagras SA because in my mind if i focus on the technique i wont have a problem with anything i use
When learning a new weapon I'd always recommend beginning with lower level monsters and using according gear and not just equipping Fatalis gear and destroying everything... the Great Jagras SA is actually a really good choice and it has an exhaust phial so monsters are tired more often and you get a few more flinches and openings for damage to learn the basics. The first real challenges for a Switch Axe player are the three pseudo-wyverns, Barioth, Nargacuga and Tigrex (in my personal opinion). If you can beat these with corresponding gear in under 10 minutes you are pretty good I'd say! You don't have to start with the Proto Iron Axe I to learn the weapon but you certainly shouldn't just start with an endgame Fatalis/Lightbreak Build either.
-30% affinity is a big no no for any weapon, you can put all your augments into affinity and still not be neutral so there are much better options for sleep and for higher damage.
Any armor set will do just fine for the beginning of Iceborne since everything is better than HR gear. The Jagras weapons can help a lot in Master Rank because of the exhaust phial.
Very good question. There are a few videos on like the top 5 Switch Axes or top 10 elemental Swaxes but I couldn't find a comprehensive video summing up the best ones for every class and also offering alternatives, so I tried to make a video just like that... and people asked me to do such a video as well... and every video I make is practice towards covering Wilds from the very beginning once it drops!
thanks for this, i started a fresh save file for world since i wanted to learn swaxe from start of the game. i just started iceborne and this helps.
I hope you're having a great time with Switch Axe! I have a few more guides and tips videos on my channel if you need anymore help.
Same dude I started fresh save just to learn switch axe. Happy I did. H8 going through the cutscenes tho
@@unrivaled7625 just install the mod that allows you to skip cutscene i used it a lot
Just made it to this point in the game, thanks a lot for your recommendations!
Awesome! Just in time lol

Kjarr and safi'jiiva weapons are severely underrated, personally i like those weapons far more than lightbreak/fatalis weapons
They are really good for sure! I love them as well, playing around with Safi weapons never gets old!

@Sadcatblake most elder dragons are weak to dragon element

The Brute Tigrex one

The goat is back 🗡️🔄🪓
If I'm running a 4pcs set of fatalis and 1pc of velkana y is it ok if i change the weapon to safi jiiva blastaxe?
yeah sure, that can still make for a powerful build, the Safi weapons are very good overall.
I just entered iceborn and having a problem deciding wich SA to make and what armor should i begin to make. Do you have any suggestion?

@BloodyWyverian i will try making it, thanks for the advice

elementless jewels don't increase raw on weapons with hidden element :(
I just checked, it does work as long as the element stays hidden. I got 1040 with Titan Axe on my build and after equipping the elementless jewel 1089
@@BloodyWyverian oh thank god, i could've sworn my game didn't increase it
i'm glad to know i was wrong 😭
