There was a guy that wasn't really well known except on here who used to busk in the subway I believe in San Francisco, he was kind of a punk rocker type of guy but he loved Johnny Cash and was a fantastic Johnny Cash impersonator. His name was Jesse Morris and he actually does like a Johnny Cash version of a Black Flag song you'd swear Johnny Cash himself wrote it. Jesse Morris also passed away, I don't know if it was from disease or from suicide or overdose. Rest in peace Johnny Counterfeit, Jesse Morris, of course The man in black himself.

I just found out he passed away last month. He was a great talent and one of the best country music impressionists I’ve ever seen. He’ll be missed.

Knowing that Johnny passed away actually motivates me to learn guitar and learn how to impersonate famous musicians like Johnny Cash. RIP Johnny Counterfit. Johnny Cash would be proud of Johnny Counterfit. I would take a name like Johnny Alterego!
Either you have the talent of being able to Impersonate people or you don't, it isn't something you can learn to do if you don't have the gift.
I don't have the gift to imitate. But I do have the gift to learn musical instruments pretty soon

The one thing I appreciate of songs from Johnny Cash and a few other country stars!! The original song did not deviate from the album much. Which is why what you heard on the album you heard on stage. Unlike when a song is too over processed it sounds way different than what the artist plays on stage!!!
He was the best on Cash, Ernest Tubb etc. RIP Johnny Counterfit.

@@parkerk7018 it I've been friends with him on Facebook for years. His daughter made a post on his Facebook page announcing it.

@@parkerk7018 not 100% sure, but he had said he was having heart issues recently, so that's a possibility.
