I'd give anything to have been able to see the Scorpions at this time.
Mattias Jabs addition to the Scorpions was the same shot of adrenaline that Randy Rhoads brought to Ozzy. Yeah Uli and Schenker are virutosos, but Mattias was a more pure rock guitraist who could come up with super catchy and radio friendly riffs, it's no coincidence that they broke big in America and around the world once he was in the band.
Very well stated in praise of Mathias ,who is a killer guitarist and the right choice to modernize The Scorps as he did! 👍
Uli is the best, but Mattias has some of the most iconic riffs and solos in all hard rock and heavy metal, you heard them one or two times and they get stuck in your head forever.

Greatest Band Ever. Back in the day when you bought the vinyl, recorded it on tape to keep the vinyl in the greatest shape. Played the cassette non-stop in your car until the tape broke. Realized you had to make another tape to replace, knowing they had done another album, added the new rockin' hits to the length of what you had before, & did it all over again, realizing you had to go from the 30mins each side tapes, to the 45 mins each side, until you found out they amassed 47 hits that you loved & couldn't fit on 1 tape you had to make 2, outclassing any & all other bands you listened to. Scorpions 47 hits, Triumph 28, Led Zeppelin, Queensryche, AC/DC all battling at 26 hits per band.

@@justarandomguy2126 Such a tragedy given that the Japanese (SONY with Betamax and JVC with VHS) pioneered video-cassette recorders and players in the late 1970s. At least SCORPIONS' tour of Japan in 1979 was taped for fan to witness the individual and collective talent of this unique group.

Aí que você se engana, no período 1996-1999 os Scorpions tentaram migrar pra o pop também, tanto que o Eye to Eye(1999) é considerado o pior álbum da banda em disparada e até os próprios integrantes querem esquecer esse álbum e período horrível. Sorte que deu super errado e caíram na real logo até voltarem com tudo em 2004 com o álbum Unbreakable.
