Omg.. When you started re-sampling everything I was so confused and then I was like "This dude knows wtf he's doing."
Heheh thanks.
yeah i used to put the auto filter on the MASTER channel to get that same effect, but I know I shouldn't do that (face palm). Now I know DA WEY
actual feels that last trick top off the vid ~
@@BeatAcademy Hey ill factor, why is it bad to put the EQs on the master fader? to me it seems better because you can more easily change the track if needed.
@@polaroid8349 It's bad for bigger projects since it could change the whole track.
It's great that by playing the filtered and unfiltered version together in the end, gives the track a lush and vintage feel which adds to the song vibe.
@2 Broke Gamblers I don't know if this technique is used in the original version, or if this is a common production technique. I imagine that, since ill used it in his recreation, probably is also used in the original.
THAT was the part that really sold me
I only dreamed you would reproduce this and it came true!
so damn true.
This beat has been sampled soo many times. That dream has come true many times, to many songs.
I would likr to say thank you for teaching us without hold anything back and expecting less in return. You are such a wonderful person from the bottom of my heart:)
Truly is my pleasure
Now it's done properly: first we see the final result then the producing process.
Apart from that, great job as always!
Thanks for watching
I wasn’t expecting to learn so much this time around but wow!! 🔥🔥
Happy to hear that!
I love how bands try to play tight to a metronome and producers try to sound loose and unquantized. We're such contrarians :')
@bookmarkthis He means live musicians following partitions in general. They aim for the optimal tempo, the imperfections are what gives it a live feeling which is why we producers try to simulate that.
There’s a sweet spot that they’re both looking for. Most bands try to get as tight as they can to get to it, and producers try to loosen it a bit.
both can't do the job 100% accurately and reach the same middle point
its because humans find it very hard to play perfect on tempo so it sounds natural when they try to where as computers find it easy to play on tempo and it sounds stiff
well the bands are usually still off by a bit.
Gonna have that song on repeat for awhile
Say So reminds me of the Nile Rodgers/Bernard Edwards Chic sound. I appreciate disco more now knowing that most of it was made using instruments. Keeping a 4/4 beat on the drums without a metronome is hard to do. Tony Thompson, Nile & Bernard made it look easy in the finished product.
With that said, listen to "Disco Inferno" by The Trammps or "Grooveline" by Heatwave. Both songs are long versions originally, cut down for radio airplay. Amazing stuff.
Bernard Edwards, the best bass player ever (in my opinion)....R.I.P
@@dallasstorey Absolutely! No Bernard, no Nile. Lock-step
I wanna thank u, im learning how to use Ableton and these kind of things really help me a Lot. Greetings from argentina :)
Ditch Ableton it's shit. Get pro tools or maybe logic if on a budget
Yes, but can you do the vocals? The vocals on this track have very interesting effects and would be nice to see your approach on replicating them.
omg, your such a game-changing for everyone who is trying to perfect his techniques, love your videos, keep doing this!!! Hope you can do some Kaytranada tutorial focused on the bass techniques he uses or some Bondax, disclosure, SG lewis Production videos please!!!!
Amazing tutorial!
Best series ever in youtube

Beat Academy I think Dr. Luke uses logic? I know Doja Cat produces with logic.
Brother, which software do you use to make music.
uNknown rMx I’m not one of these DAW proselytizers, so that wasn’t the point. But I can usually hear the sound quality of different software, and I’ve seen this guy use Logic before, so I was just pointing it out. It doesn’t really matter, and the finished product sounded good. But it is true that Doja uses Logic, and I thought I read at one point that the producer of the track-the #1 pop hit guy, Dr. Luke-used Cubase/Logic.
Thank you. Bro, "michal mata".
@@79Glitch yes Dr Luke now going as "Tyson trax" did produce this one
Damn that phaser lfo is crazy had been using this thing wrong all the time
Same. I've been under-using so many great audio effects that comes free with Ableton lol... Same with the Chorus on the guitar. Made it so much better sounding
This is some of the best shit anywhere, nevermind on youtube, to learn from and get inspired. The dude's prep and follow through is so good
Man that sounds good. Well done.
Another great tutorial! Lady Gaga's "Stupid Love" would be awesome to see in the near future!
Did not know you could copy effects over like that, I've been manually recreating side chain for all my instruments, I could have been saving so much time. Y'learn something new everyday
copy paste is pretty universal across ableton, so most things you copy will remember automation curves, velocities, fades, plugin settings, etc
Showing them those daft punk tricks with the filters 👌🔥🔥🔥
that tone change you did with the rc-20 was amazing to see
Dats’ new sugar hill gang rapper delight 2020 ! I’m proud this beat is famous 👐🤩✨✨✨✨
Lana Del Rey - Doin Time would be awesome! There's no tutorials for her songs it's insane
D L Mc its a cover
@@montyjohnn2826 ...That still required production
