This really blows my mind. You did all this without touching an acoustic, electric, or even an electronic instrument and it sounds very organic. You are just a dude sitting in front of a desk clicking little bars. Truly inspiring.
That's what bothers me about musical purists. Those kind of people who say "oh you make all your music just using your PC without any instruments? Pff yeah that doesn't take talent at all, go pick up guitar/bass/drums/etc or you ain't no musician" or so. I think this guy proves that it just takes as much knowledge to produce music on a software as it does on a physical instrument.
@@AlexAnder-ri8ns I agree, not to mention Kevin Parker himself uses Ableton and produces everything within it himself! Sometimes he'll track some instruments, but sometimes he'll just use VSTs.
@@AlexAnder-ri8ns replicating in software, and creating the music itself are two separate things. Software only results in good emulation, but not great creation.
@@johnniearc That’s not true at all. He used the Roland JV-1010 on currents a lot which is a synth module. There is no physical keyboard that comes with it brother.
I don’t tend to take the time to comment, but props to you, dude. The concise nature of your videos makes them so streamlined while also engaging and informative. I love what you do.
The reproduction of this is not only incredible, it's having the listening skills to hear what is going on, to then know how to reproduce this so faithfully, well done, subscribed!
Tame Impala is DEFINITELY not strictly analog. He uses analog synths and guitars. But he records everything into Ableton and does the mixing and effects in it.
@@BeatAcademy i'm sure a lot of people would love to see more Tame Impala. Currents has a lot of great tracks with some pretty complex hi-fi production. Hopefully we can get The Less I Know The Better or Let It Happen! Appreciate you man, I like a lot of others is going through a tough time right now and this has really helped. Hope you're staying safe!
THANK YOU! These videos are life savers. I really appreciate you taking the time to make them and for being such a good explainer, I never feel lost & im always learning something new, bless you 💜
Thank u very much for this can you please do either The Less I know the Better by Tame Impala, Xanny by Billie Eilish or Save Your Tears by The Weeknd please!
Dude, in a sea of crappy tutorials by people who only learned to make music a month ago and who just regurgitate other ideas they saw elsewhere, your channel really stands alone with the way it's presented and the quality of information. Thank you!
Love that used Addictive Drums for this, so hard to find any tutorials that utilize it. Really dig what you did with routing outputs, then utilizing the sample and quantizing to triplets. Learned a lot about getting organic drums to sound better in the mix. A video on utilizing some of the more advanced functions in AD would be great too, I've never been able to find a good one.
Sorry about the rough patch you are going through right now. Be encouraged you can get through this just take it one day at a time. Today’s trouble are sufficient for today. Happy to be of service and help you move along
I'm really impressed by the amount of high quality stuff you post here man, I think you have no idea how much you help new and intermediate producers, my sincere thank you!
I liked this tutorial. I've used ableton for 8 years and videos on youtube like this are the only reason I know how to use ableton today. I still learn from videos like this and they still give me ideas to try, in this video it gave me some really good ideas for drums. Good video, although for a beginners I suggest that you focus a little bit more on why you are doing certain things. For some things it is obvious because they can hear it, like a filter on a synth. But for other things, like why you are using a dynamic eq on specific frequencies of the vocal, it would really help beginners with an untrained ear if you explained a bit more why you are making those changes.
Wow, this is spot on dude 🙂 its also worth to mention that there are 2 basses in this song - guitar and sub bass which can be heard in chorus and pre chorus.
Honestly, it's so easy to screw up a tame Impala recreation/cover but holy shit. It sounds just like the real deal. This is definitely my favorite Tame Impala tutorial
That was great ! Good pacing, i quite like that things happen quickly, you can always stop to rewatch a part. lots of knowledge shared here. thank you very much !
As I am just starting with the whole world of music making, I can't thank you enough for this content. This is just soooo amazing and I learn a lot in every video. I really appreciate you taking the time and teaching others. Thank you!
This is amazing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make a how to produce Radiohead video. Especially a Kid A like sound. The dry vocals and clean audio, hearing everything in the production. I need to see it done. Morning Bell would be great pick. The ending to Present Tense would also be great to explore. When the real drums kick in.
This is awesome! I would love to see something by Jungle as well, as I always found their songs well produced, really funky, beautiful sounds etc. Plus Jungle is just great

So cool, nobody never recreates Tame Impala beacause of the complexity of his production and sound desing, thank you so much :)
I thought the sound design was actually pretty simple in this. Most of the video was about mixing
@@JeanFrinlaloy yeah maybe in this one is not that complex but in general the tame impala sound is very unique
That's not a big deal.
J Navarro in terms of mixing its pretty hard
J Navarro i should clarify mostly the drums

that drum loop flip was absolutely insane, cannot believe this is free

My pleasure. Glad it was helpful
I want to understand how to recreate some of the Kid A production !
At the beginning I thought it was the real voice track of Kevin Parker. You're incredible, man. Superb work as always!
Thanks. This was a tricky one but glad it came together to serve you Guys
Literally the most insightful tutorials on the platform. 🐐🐐🐐
wow. the way you can analyze this guy who's probably strictly analog and recreate it is mind blowing. beautiful job-

Julian earle's done that. Beat academy is pop oriented
one word - Arca -
especially the ones produced by Sonny Moore
You are a true blessing bro im learning so much thank you and please don't stop posting these vids

With a program as complex as Live it's essential to absorb a typical workflow process to get going and this tutorial conveys that really well.
