I've no idea how I didn't find your channel sooner but you are without doubt one of the best here on UA-cam teaching production. All the Whys, How's and When's behind every decision yet the videos still have an amazing pace! I'm happy to be learning from you :)
its 80 synths lolll its super simple synths :P but ye. As an edm producer i think it's cute how hip hop producers are amazed at not using omnisphere or nexus xd. You should try it! I love using serum. Just watch a few tutorials on how to make certain sounds and copy what they do to learn
@@BeatAcademy please dont stop creating with stock plugins we beginners love that as we cant afford those and also it makes the software very lightweight.
You know when you're messing around with synthesizer presets and you're like " That's a good sound but i hate how it has that minor issue ", this video thought me everything I needed to know to fix that. Thank you.
mate I have been producing music for about 13 years now. I wish I had a teacher like you! I had to go through so many tutorials back in the day, you on the other hand explain everything so perfectly. When I started off, everyone explained the science behind the plug ins but no one ever showed the results.
Yeah , it's kinda nice , because that super mega stupid as much as possible rap trap bullshit made by drug addicted morons , it's just not music , and The Weeknd , made some nice music.0
God bless you for all this free knowledge and at the same time also using all stock plugins, your content is literally a blessing to the community, and I'm sure everyone watching this can agree with that.
Thanks ill factor for doing this recreation sound exactly like it in my ears. To every one watching this, recreation is the key to get good at production(in a short time) and not only watching this helps but recreating it yourself and getting stuck and figuring limitations and problems
Thanks for your video! Although my English is not good, I can't understand many details in the video very well, and I can't express my thanks to you very accurately. Your video has made me learn a lot. Thank you again, Ivan. I like your video very much!
I just opened a DAW (ableton 10 live) for the first time 2 days ago and had no idea where to start. I watched your basics video and am now following along on all of these how to sound like X, and I'm learning SO MUCH! Thank you, Beat Academy for the content you've put out. Maybe one day I'll go from "aspiring music producer" to just "music producer." Cheers!
I love two things about your tutorials. 1 that you only use ableton vsts and 2 how straight foward and simple you make them so they are so easy to watch and understand.
The Weeknd‘s “Blinding Lights” rose to number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart on March 30. It’s the fifth chart-topper in the R&B singer’s career, but it’s the 23rd chart-topper for one of the men behind the song: co-writer and producer Max Martin, who has helped shape pop music for more than two decades.
Can't help to notice the Assassin's creed logo on the wall. Then I recalled this sick piece of music for AC Syndicate, "Champion sound" I believe. So the producer is now sharing knowledge! Love what you're doing now and plz keep up the beautiful work.
i know nothing about producing music but watching how much detail and production time is put into making like 12 seconds of a song is so interesting to me
Man I have so much to say about these videos! I love them! Watching this specific one (because the song has that retro vibe) makes me think that you should do a series where you recreate/produce classics. Lets say music from the 80s-00s.
Heyyyyy ! I absolutely love your videos and im so thankfull for all your great lessons! I wonder if you have a video where you go about where you get your samples from. as for example this video, the video is great but without your samples i wouldnt have known how to come by these sounds. Cheers !
Amazing all this with stock plugins ! And we all think that a new vst makes us a better producer... incredible! Also very nice song selection on your Tutorials...
thanks so much for the bits and pieces... I have a few ideas for mashing up this song that I absolutely love, and you've just made the whole process a lot easier,
You are actually incredible. I learned so much from nothing about using Synthetic sounds and manipulating them from this one video and successfully followed along using FL with Serum. Bless you x
@@chrisglaz1557 I'd argue its not easy as you think. I have the drums and basic chords down. However, if you listen to that vocoder whistle style sample at the start and check out this instrumental (ua-cam.com/video/agdXMLXrITM/v-deo.html) theres some sound design that I can't work out how to do. The brass sounding synth i'm uncertain of as well.
This was really great! One of my favorite songs and you got so close to the original I can't believe it. Step by step, I could follow along ang grasp what you did and what effect your changes made. Thanks!
How come I've not come across you?? That may be among a very few music production tutorials and totally with built-in plugins... I think I'm gonna subscribe. 😎😎💯💯💯Add some chord proggression and a little 80's vibe, lay back and watch the entire world go crazy. How cool is that?? What's the secret about the 80's music??
dude thank you so much for this video. getting that bass tone was driving me absolutely mad and I have something similar now, working with synths is really difficult when you are a beginner. I know the sound I want but dont know what to change to get it!
I finally managed to finish this one. Its the first one of the series that I do and Im gonna go through each one and recreate them because theres so much to learn. Why did you add another delay as a send for the bell sound?
Can’t believe I just discovered your channel, and you’re using Ableton Live. Wow better late than never, can’t wait to start trying to learn from your videos ! )

Wow awesome man. I’m so impressed, you are more than a pro. You are a sound and ocilator creater. I’m used to logic and Cuba’s so ableton is not familiar to me but anyway you are the answer to all those friends that must buy expensive retro synths to do productions . It’s possible with your knowledge. Keep up the good work and thanks again for the pedagogical lesson.
