Here's a tip: don't sing while your cat is in the room and you feel like your dying because you're allergic
Good advice I’ll go upstairs away from my cat now
Can I sing the sad Mum in your funeral then?
@@towming4870 sure
Also, respect your cat because mine always seem to wanna die when I sing
that is literally what's happening to me right now ty for looking out for other mouth breathers
for reference:
2:50: lip bubble
3:55: speak singing
4:18: mum/bub
5:00 bratty nya/nay
5:59: whiny mum
6:35: be/bib with sustain
Ariel's sharing her secrets............
My voice is quite deep for a female and trying to get a good head voice without sounding breathy or nasally is sooo hard 😭
Same though!
I'm non-binary but I was born a female so I have this same problem because I naturally have a deeper raspier voice
@@viennawaitsforyouuu7694 yeah I feel like I'm alright at lower notes and using my chest voice but whenever I try mix or use my head voice, I feel like a lot of air comes through and if fix that, I go out of tune! I have no idea what I'm doing 😅
@@viennawaitsforyouuu7694
Same, home skillet. I’m also nb but I’m afab with a naturally low voice.
@Meat Popsicles that's my sex yeah but my gender is Nonbinary, dont be transphobic
Would you be able to do a crash course for beginners? Like just some basic exercises to strengthen your breath and control - my biggest problem as someone who really enjoys singing but hasn't ever been trained is I run out of breath so easily on long notes. I also sometimes have trouble accessing my chest voice and transitioning from higher to lower notes
i can keep a note going for quite a while before loosing breath and i was also never trained
however i have trouble getting into head voice once i start singing and cant get out of it once i do get it. another big big problem would be the inconsistent vibrato of my voice.. maybe thats just cause im nervous but still a singing 101 would be awesome
A good way to start I think would be looking up choir vocal warm ups. We had to do a lot of work on diaphragm and sustained breathing. 5-10 min every day and that sort of strength builds up.
check out Dots Singing & Music School on UA-cam it has exercises with instructions about technique, there's not talking on it though. Actually the exercises mentioned are on this channel too.
Transition from higher to lower notes is the mix video you're watching now. Obviously working with a coach helps tackle the specific problem but yeah
@@dragongold63 me too
this is off topic but you look _stunning._ that yellow really suits you!!
I had to wait until I was home alone for this, because theres no way anyone in my family is gonna hear this, but it worked! I'm so happy I felt the sensation for like the first time! My mix still definitely needs work, but I'm just happy Im able to use it on command now
if s
Literally did these exercises all like 3 times then went back to singing the same song I'd been singing before I did them and it was already so much stronger and felt so much better so thank you so, so, so much!!
Me, a guy watching this, knowing I won’t be able to do it, but just watching it because Hannah:
Same but im gonna try it anyway
I made a mixing for men video! Link is in the description!
@@HannahBayles oh really? Guess ill check that one out
Hannah Bayles Watched it! Very helpful thank you!
could you do a video on singing high notes healthy and not sounding nasally?
I have problems with this too!!
Could you please do a video on chest voice, I can access my chest voice but feel like it’s too heavy and has tension that then ruins my mix! Love your videos💕
Coming next week!
@@HannahBayles yeeey 😍😍😍
Can you do a video about how to get a stronger head voice? Mine is really breathy no matter what I do :/
That and also how to find ur chest voice 👁👁
Or just to like
Make it stronger
Perfectly Plumpidy I’m an alto, so luckily I don’t have to worry about that /:)
@@farrar7076 uh me too haha
That alto mood right there ✌🏻 Chest voice is on point. Head voice? Idk her
I just noticed that my mix is only strong enough to sound like an actual belt when I CAN belt that note. And that's only up to around a C#5. Anything higher than that sounds "fake" and sounds a little more to a head voice than a good blend even though it has the same feeling when I do notes in my belt range. Any tips?
idk if this is good or not but it works for me. i start belting from a note a few notes lower and that’s comfortable for me to belt. then i try and like glissando up to the note i wanna hit and sustain. try to keep the same/similar sound. if it still sounds different try glissando-ing slowly
Will you be doing a vibrato tutorial any time soon? I have never really been able to have vibrato except for when i'm nervous haha
I think vibrato comes naturally if you’re singing healthily
dang rlly? i have vibrato but i always thought my singing sucks🤥
@@kalisworl i mean, you can have an unhealthy or forced vibrato too
@Haritha Subramanian I tried faking it a while ago before I knew it was bad and now when I do it I can't tell if it's natural not. I'm kinda scared lol
@Haritha Subramanian wow thanks!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I have had years of singing lessons and have never had a teacher who has been able to teach me how to mix. I've always struggled to bridge the gap between my head and chest voice and now it's much more comfortable thanks to you!
Thank you so much! Your videos have helped so much. Before your videos and tik tok, I could only go up to D5 and it it was all unstable and shouty chest voice. Now I can solidly mix up to a G5 and when singing certain things I can take it even higher! Like Veronica's riff at the end of Beautiful I can now take up to C6. Your advice has done wonders for my voice and I'm actually proud of my singing now!
Heathers? Slay
Okay, who disliked? The Hannah Stans are coming for you.
Could you please do a video on how to sing without sounding nasally😔 I have to sing a solo next week but I sound extremely nasally everytime I sing, thank youuuu, lovr your videos
Katielouloubell Xx Hey! I know an exercise you can try! When practicing scales or or parts of your song, hold your nose closed and sing through the nasal of that. Then after doing so a couple times, take your hand off and sing the part and you can hear/feel a difference if you do it right! Hope this makes sense 💖
Hard to explain without being able to demonstrate, but if you try some scales on a “go/goh” noise, in a really dopey or yawny voice that might help :)
Theatre Geek thank you thank you thank youuu💓
Emma Flynn thank you so muchh :))
I myself lift the soft part of my palette in a yawn position and make sure I use plenty of air: and try and get a 'colour" sound. My colours are silver gold and bronze, metal colours, but my teacher is greens and greys; so I guess just try and fimd your colour :S :)
Just after this one video, my mix is already sounding so much better. Thank you so much
It's sad seeing this video getting so few views when the reaction videos explode D: I have nothing but love for the reactions but these types deserve sooo many views
I needed this so bad!! Thank you!!!!
YES! My mix used to be so strong but has been a bit rocky recently - totally needed this!
No joke, this was better than any voice lesson I've ever had in person. Definitely adding these warmups to my repertoire.
Hannah, thank you so much for your videos ! Only after watching your reaction videos, I learned a lot and today when I tried to sing, I realized that I knew what I was doing waaay more than before and I reached notes with my chest voice I had never reached before.
I've been waiting for this. I struggle a lot with controlling my mixed voice. This is amazing! You're such a great singing coach!
i've been struggling with finding my mixed voice for the longest time. it's literally the solution to all my singing problems. i'll get there someday though.
same
I've been looking everywhere on how to get a stronger mix and NO ONE has mentioned passages and bridges or any of the things you did and even after this one video I feel so much more confident in my voice!! Thank you!!
Just found your channel and it looks like at just the right time! Excited to listen to your technique videos!
Hannah is providing VALUE!!! It is evident that she cares about all of her viewers and she does an excellent job showing it. Keep up the great work. :)
No dislikes as it should be.😌
Such a helpful video thank you! I’m always trying to work on strengthening my mix! More videos like these please! 🙋🏽🙏🏽💖✨
I’ve been waiting for this!!! I tried your tips for the “how to mix for men” and I was able to go quite high!
will have to look through the videos to find what it means for there to be “resistance” on your vocal chords from using mixed voice? These videos have gotten me into really looking up the mechanics of the voice and understanding what is actually happening, love it!
last night i was talking to my girlfriend about how i have a lot of trouble with my mixing - you heard me!!
Thank you so much. I've had so much trouble finding my mix and I feel like I could hit that E5 I've been working towards
You're back with another mixed voice video! I really enjoyed your first one.
Thank you!!!!!! This was insanely helpful ur helping so many people actually be able to sing (me included. I’ve improved so much from just stuff I picked up from ur reaction videos) so thanks!!! 🥰
thank you so much! you’re an incredible singer/inspiration ❤️❤️
OMG HANNAH I NEEDED THIS SO MUCH THANK YOU 💖
this is the only video that really helped me understand how the mixed voice is supposed to feel. Thank you so much!!
fastest i ever did click
Thanks so much for this video. I haven’t been able to get my mix ever and I’ve been singing for quite a while. I actually got it singing with this video thank you so much❤️❤️
I NEEDED this. Thank you!!!
Thank you so much for doing this!!!💥🌈 this really helped me!! Thank you!
This was so helpful! I have auditions tomorrow and I'm low key having a panic attack and this helped me feel confident about it thank you!
Thank you SO MUCH for this video!!! I really needed this
thanks for everything! i started binging your videos and omg you are so sweet! Ive been improving a lot!
This helps so much - thank you! I am working with some people in my area on singing lessons getting ready for a singing audition next fall.
Thank you so much for this video it helped me so much and I've been realizing so many different thing about my voice.💖
I have been waiting for this day 🥺💖
THIS IS THE CONTENT I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR
This is so helpful! Thank you!!
I absolutely love your videos and can't wait for more like this one! My chest feels very comfortable but the area where I switch into mixing is often not as strong and can get wobbly. Certain vowels I just can't get the same volume while mixing.
A BIG WOW. You explained that very, very well. All who are watching this, I know from experience that what she is saying and how she brings it is true. These exercises I have been doing ( results do not come overnight though), I learned them from another source, and they are effective. Your ability to explain it is up there.
Great video!! Love working on the mix with my own voice and with students 😁
yess thank you so much!!! looking forward to more technical videos!
This is such a good video! You're a lovely teacher, and it makes it seem very easy to learn (though I'm very bad at singing, so it's still difficult for me 😅). Can't wait for more!
I watched this once and I know I’m going to practically memorize it at some point since I will watch this over and over again until it’s engrained in my memory and I don’t need to replay it anymore
Thanks! I’ve been working on this a bunch with my vocal coach.
Love this thank you!! So helpful!!
This video is so helpful 😭❤️
I'm so happy I found your channel.
Lip bubble is my favorite! I have been working my BUTT off on mixing and I have learned that singing NYAH NYAH NYAH NYAH in the place of the bib bib bib bib rhythm brings forward more of a mixed sound!!! AND A VIBRATOOO
OMG this is soooo usefull and well explained!
hi hannah! omg i just finished natalie weiss's riff series that u recommended us to watch some time ago. sending lots of love! from argentina!
The video I’ve been waiting for 😌
That's awesome! Thank you SO much for this. 💖
I loved this video and am really looking forward to the coming videos on vocal technique! Could you do one about increasing the volume in your mix voice?
Thank you so much! Helped a lot! 💜
Love this! Can you please do a video on belting techniques and warmups?
This video was really helpful!
YES YES YES, IT'S FINALLY HERE
Great advice Hannah!
Thank you for this! I’m gonna share it out :)
HANNAH YOU ARE AN ANGEL
i just started wanting to learn how to sing and i found your channel through ryan because im a huge heathers fan and im so glad i found this channel
ok so i am very good at belting but there was this one thing I couldnt do and in another one of your videos and on other videos by other UA-camrs they kept on saying mix voice and I didn't understand what they meant but now I know and I tried singing the song again and it was instantly easier and sounded waaaaay better thank you so much!!!
Thank you for making this videos, I haven’t known where to find vidoes to help with my voice!! If you can please keep making these vidoes!
thank you so much hannah
thank you for this !!!!
Thank you this helps!
You're an excellent teacher 🙂
Love the videos! Have you thought about doing a video for students who struggle with their head voices? I have some younger students who are having a hard time distinguishing between their head and chest voices and I would love to hear your input on this topic!
Do you have any tips for Altos who struggle with high notes? I feel like my chest voice is pretty good but my head voice feels weak and strained.
Thank you!
Are you considering doing more instructional videos that build on
previous ones? I feel like I have a strong grasp of my chest voice and
my mix, but I'd like advice and some help understanding how to combine
them into a "mixy belt" as you mention in certain reaction videos.
So hyang master of the mix miss your so hyang reactions
Hannah, you need to react to Mimi and Josefin’s version of Creep (The Voice Kids audition version). You’ll be speechless like all of the judges were. And keep watching because they do an amazing encore! They are only 15 and 13 and they are incredible. 💖
Love this thank you
I don't know what a mix voice is but I'm excited to learn!!
hey Hannah, this was really beneficial. can you do another video on how to implementing this into songs so that I can sing in a mix ?
You are amazing! I have watched SO many mixed voice tutorials on UA-cam and yours is my favorite! You explain everything really well so it actually makes sense. I found your Disney Princess video especially helpful. I think I found my mix? But also it just feels like I'm making my head voice more nasal and bringing it forward. I'm honestly not sure if I'm doing it right. Can head voice be nasal or does it always sound like an opera singer? Likewise, can you have an open throat and still be in the nasopharyngeal register? How do I make my mix sound less nasal? I can take the nasopharyngeal register (not sure if it's mixed or not lol) to the top of my head voice range...Does this mean that I'm just in my head voice but nasal/forward?
Tysm for this vid it is helping me so much with my auditon song! (Im auditioning for ursula with poor unfortunate souls)
Thank you so much for this video. Stuff like this is so hard for me to grasp and I can't afford paying for lessons :/
omg i already love you so much, wish i could be your student
I recently discovered my mix and started using it more I always had to use my falsetto to get into the 5th octave now that I discovered mixing I don’t strain to hit those 5 th octave belts
Thank you so so much
You’re amazing
Thank you for making this video! How do you sing higher notes without getting louder but at the same time without getting breathy? I find that I'm either getting too loud or too breathy whenever I try to practice high notes.
