This is why I can't go to the zoo anymore. It kills me inside seeing the mental anguish these beautiful creators suffer at the hand on humans. We are supposed to be their keepers but not like this. In a way we respect their habits
I mean it's a male lion. Idk if you've ever watched some animal planet but they seem pretty content with just being full and lying down all day. When they aren't doing that they seem to only be interested in murdering weaker male lions and slaughtering all of his cubs 🤷♂️

That lion could use some lionesses, and some balls and other toys to play with. His enclosure looked very barren. Imagine how bored he is, and then that squirrel came in, and then that be his only excitement he's seen all day or for many days. Also, the title is wrong. That squirrel and lion never touched each other, they didn't fight. The lion tried to hunt it, but gave up when the squirrel went back up the same way it came.

I come from a farm in Zimbabwe and on holiday we went to the zoo in South Africa. I cried the whole time we didnt stay long. It was too heartbreaking. The elephant had chains attatched to her legs and with her rocking back and forth they were raw. Never again. 😫👍🇿🇦

We had a Doberman that would chase squirrels. He'd go into "slow mo" and almost walk within 2' before the squirrel would climb up the tree. It'd take in an hour or so to go 5'. I wish I would have flimed it. Capone was one of my best dogs! He caught a couple of ground hogs doing the same thing!
I feel like zoos gotta do more live prey for their carnivores every once in a while, least give them various small mammals that populate fast like rats, mice and rabbits.

He’s not thin at all. He’s actually (95% sure) close to the average weight of a healthy lion. And they can’t have enrichment in there all the time.

They do that all the time to my cat. No fear. They'll walk right in front of her like it's nothing then casually go up a tree of she gets too close.
